I went looking for an analysis like this when I first watched that John Smith clinic years ago, but there was only match tape at the time. I actually just watched that version again (it's from a different angle than MNHS) and thought I'd check again for more than highlights on Higuchi. I just wanted to see a swing single breakdown, but I got an arm drag in the bargain as well!

you are great Sir you tell about the minor tricks very closely in the video. Please do study 97 KG abudalslam gadisov he is applying very effective move duck under and standing ankle pick
If you ever need an idea for a video can you please make one going in depth on neutral, I need help learning how to notice exploitable tendencies if that makes sence
Rei Higuchi is one another level. I was watching his live streams on insta. He wrestled the 65kg 2024 olympic champion "Kiyooka Kotaro" in a practice match. They had two practice matches so 4 total 3 minute rounds. Higuchi beat him twice. First 4-0 then 2-2 technical superiority. He beat the Olympic champion two classes above him! I also heard some rumors from the Japanese team that Higuchi cuts a lot of weight to give his teammates a chance to make the world and Olympic team. Same for Oto he gave Oto a chance to medal.
In the 2nd part of the video during the swing single, when higuchi is versing surieet of India and shoots deep does surieet have control oh higuchis hand

@@wrestlingmastery4995 awesome! That's great I love breakdown videos like this you learn a lot more than just watching the match. I'm sure you aren't even close to running out of content but if you ever do or want to do something different you should do "reviews" of matches people send you. Maybe give tips or things like that
@@everythingUTrealestate I have had this thought before. I wanted to put out a few videos to build the channel. And down the line try to implement a service where I do just that. If I get a steady enough video to review I can give the review the same attention to detail I give to these breakdown videos. Once I can get back to the mat I can also tie into that video drills and or how to correct etc.
He's dropping back down to 57kg for the Olympics. He has wins over Yuki Takahashi. Daichi Takatani is up at 74 kg. He lost to Otoguro's younger brother Keisuke.

You got it right! Surieet has cross wrist control. Pause it @ 9:54, Higuchi uses this cross wrist against surieet by extending it.
