In the last month I have had a strong calling to this. Now I am seeing it EVERYWHERE. In my “prepping” I am going in with the expectation that I will also be able to help loved ones. I am not going crazy, but I am not going to be dumb either. I think the writing is on the wall.
I’m a new subscriber. I forwarded this video to my adult daughter. She wouldn’t watch an extreme prepper, but she appreciates you’re a “normal person.” And as my mom (who was a child during the Great Depression) used to say, God helps those who help themselves.
Storage ideas - living room table with removable tops, ottomans, unused tub in extra bathroom, and tv niche covered by a painting. MORE videos on organizing would be good.
I really enjoyed this. God has really impressed this on me the last few years and I do think its important for everyone to have some level of preparedness. Even for a loss of income or if someone gets sick. I think it is important to start encouraging people to think about these things.
Omg I was just thinking about things I need to prep. I was only thinking about food and water and completely forgot about everything else. Thank you so much!!!! Also, don’t forget lifestraws!!!
Another thing to add to your list is books on how to do certain things. Medical care book, forage identification books, baking bread, growing food, recipes you would normally look up online etc.
Thanks! A certain issue, which started last year, made us start prepping. I have used this time to teach my homeschooled child about prepping (making a rocket stove, learning to make medicines, and cleaning water). He now collects condiments for "emergencies.":-) Another thing, we have started canning our meat from our half cow. My organization is lacking!
Great video, the current state of the world is precarious to say the least. I'm grateful that I was taught a lot of these skills growing up. We lived way out in the middle of nowhere and typically got snowed in a couple times every winter. My brother and I were homeschooled until high school so we got to learn a lot of these types of skills. I've always tried to stay prepared and thank God I did because I've had a number of really hard times in my life due to chronic illness. When I couldn't work and our income got cut by 70% that backstock of stuff got us thru many months. I totally agree that every person should be prepared with at the very least a couple weeks of food and water.. Not to mention things like life straws, extra medicines you might need, TP, candles or light /heat source etc. We live in rural Minnesota now so a heat source is super important for us and I'm still disabled so our budget is super tight but we've managed to get basics.
I grew up with some of these principals. I had family that lived on a farm and had to make sure they had what they needed if they had a bad year, so I think it's always important to not hoard, but be ready if harder times hit.
I started watching you when ai was researching homeschooling June 2020, and I love that you are expanding and keep it realistic. I have begun to do the same thing actually. Look forward to seeing more!
You did a wonderful and humbling job sharing your story and why you do it. Anyone who doesn’t like this would be crazy. We need more people sharing their experiences especially in times like today. I am a single mother learning how to do all this so it’s possible for anyone to learn and start stock piling. I started a compost a couple months back and growing your own food if you are able to is another great addition. People don’t need to make it harder than it seems. Do what’s best for your family. Thanks for sharing!
THANKYOU for your video! New to prepping & this was very helpful. It breaks my heart that u genuinely were worried that people would judge you for doing the most important job we have....PROTECTING our families. Bc thats exactly what prepping is...being prepared to care & protect our families and there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with that❤Most preppers absolutely do not clear out a shelf or 2 of one or more products every time they go shopping. Its a not a sprint its a marathon...it takes TIME to build up a supply not a few trips to the store.
I live in South Louisiana. So, we know around here every year we need to stock our hurricane preps. But, one of the items we do get if there is a storm and it shuts the area down, is MREs from the National Guard. Granted the food is not always that great but it is helpful. So, my husband and I will hold onto the ones we haven’t used after everything has returned to normal in our area. Last year for Hurricane Ida, they were also giving away water in that was in cartons like the kind milk comes in sometimes. I can the water taste great and they store so much better then the kind in plastic containers.
Your channel should be your own. I like learning new stuff, not the same thing over & over. I prep for emergencies too. I start with smaller items like power banks/solar chargers, then get a bigger item like a smaller power stations, then save for a generator. That way you have something on hand while saving for your bigger items ( generators, grill, etc).
We have been on this path for a while too and love that you are on the same page! You've given so many good tips that we've been doing so I feel good that we are doing the right things for our family! I would love more video on your journey on this topic!
Some of the best advise I have got in my 40 plus years of prepping . Do not keep all your preps in one place . I have over 33 areas . If you keep it all at your house , what if you get robbed, there was a fire or other natural disaster. Are you able to pack it all up and move it ? I dont know about others , but my preps would fill my pickup bed about 17 times . I have many spots so if anything happens to one area , I will still be set . I stopped prepping about 2 years ago because nothing else I could think of . None of the shortages have effected me or the ones close to me .
What a good video! Thank you. We just moved to a small town. Supply chains have been affected and it feels like stores are out of lots of things. We have felt it more in our area because we are small and out of the way. I just drove three hours to visit my parents and made sure to buy one extra package of all our daily essentials. I couldn't even get lunch meat at one of our three grocery stores. The other two only had a few to choose from. I agree with you 100% We shouldn't panic. That's what happened during covid and it was awful not to find things, specially for my elderly parents. Just purchasing one extra item here and there will make sure that those who can't afford to buy extra or those who can't get to the store often, will have what they need too. Love all your videos. Thanks for all you do.
Thank you for making this video & for talking about something important to you! We started a stockpile last year & have been slowly adding/replacing items. I have comfort knowing that these few specific items are here if we ever need them.
Thanks for posting, after the last year or so I'm beginning to start some type of prep. I'm not going overboard but I definitely believe we all should have some things on hand.
Excellent video Becky! We were fortunate to be well-stocked 1.5 years ago because I was brought up to buy when things are on sale, not necessarily when you need something.
You are definitely not crazy. I have been a personal preparedness prepper for years. Anything could happen at any time, I could get in a car wreck on my way to work tomorrow morning and not be able to work for a long period of time. One category of prepping that I dont see very many preppers talk about is personal hygiene and general house hold products. Hygiene and a clean living environment are huge contributors to personal health. Entertainment is another big one. Boredom can become a huge deal if you have children. And if you are on a strict budget and cant afford a lot of extra, look into coupons and cash back/rewards apps.
I thought this video was very helpful and would love to see more like it!!! I would love to see tips, tricks or maybe how to prep for picky eaters… that is what I need help with!
Ive never been a prepper but I’ve been feeling the need since 2019. I don’t have much as my family doesn’t see the need but I have purchased a few ready to eat things like chili Mac and stuff like that. We were in the Texas winter storm last year and had no way to cook. I’ve ordered a tent a sleeping bags to prep for this winter as well. We have tiny kids that will freeze if we do it again.
Think of what you want to be prepared for and for how long. No power, no water, out of stock store? For food pick a recipe that you know your family will eat and times it by twelve. Spaghetti 12 pasta boxes and 12 sauces. Then pick another!
I found your channel by searching homeschool content and I’ve binge watched all of those 😂 but I love this video too! I do this on a very small scale. Like you said, I always have at least one extra of everything but I’ve started to think about preparing for more of a long term thing. I’d love to know what your water prep looks like. I have very little storage space and I also try not to make my prep too obvious because my husband already thinks I’m crazy! 😂
Great video I agree we all need to be prepared I always try to keep a couple of months supplies on hand, I have Recently tried to increase that to 3-6 months of supplies without clearing shelves just Gradually buying extra of items at I normally use ,
My husband and I have been talking about this a lot too. We have a freezer full of meat from his hunting and fishing but we would like to learn how to can meat too. I would be very interested in seeing what you have stockpiled!
I am so glad you are well informed about the reality of our country 😭😭😭 I have never thought we were going to go through this. Unfortunately, stolen elections have consequences. I love this video, very informative, thanks Becky👍🏼 great job!
I think some sort of preparation is good. I don’t believe in these multi year storage for some sort of catastrophic event. I really don’t believe in Armageddon and if anything the pandemic shortages taught us we will survive. No one in the US diesd because of a lack of food in grocery stores or a shortage of t more medicine at cvs. I just want people to relax and be prepared but not go crazy. Be mindful of others. We have always kept a large amount of food but it was never well balanced. Just extra stuff from Costco. It she’s in her apron blogger taught us to make it more well balanced. My husband was furloughed once and the food storage helped us a lot. We still shopped but a lot less. Of course the pandemic hit and we saw were we had weaknesses. But again it take years of slowly building. The best advice is eat what you store and store what you eat. Do not buy things your family doesn’t eat on a regular basis and make sure you are eating g your food storage and replacing where needed
These are unprecedented times we are in. The entire Supply Chain has been disrupted as well as labor shortages which affect our Food Stores. These are serious issues and it will take months to address. For everyone who has prepped and have a year supply of essentials we are wise and prepared.

This is the season of life the world is finding itself in and I think that preparing is a wise train of thought.
I’m a new subscriber. I forwarded this video to my adult daughter. She wouldn’t watch an extreme prepper, but she appreciates you’re a “normal person.” And as my mom (who was a child during the Great Depression) used to say, God helps those who help themselves.
Your mom was so right! I hope that your daughter will find my prepping videos useful!
Us "crazy" preppers are looking less and less crazy every day eh?
Storage ideas - living room table with removable tops, ottomans, unused tub in extra bathroom, and tv niche covered by a painting. MORE videos on organizing would be good.

Being prepared for your family is not crazy. It's smart.
Yes, I would love more videos like this. It's better to be safe than sorry.

I would love more videos on this! Love the basket storage idea.
Proverbs 22:3 The prudent sees danger and hides himself, but the simple go on and suffer for it.
Great video, I’d love to see more! I’ve been preparing. Yes, I look at it as insurance too.

Don’t forget education! Pencils and paper. Plan and buy for the next yr a head of time!
Just be careful what channels you go to for prepping information.
