It’s not. It’s a mobile game with the name Star Trek slapped on top. No music or sound effects we know and love. The timers of a game like this have been removed and £20 price tag has been put on instead.

Demo was fun. Literally the ONLY complaint I had was that Tom Paris "Maneuver" just looked a little too much like a starfighter instead of how Voyager moves.

They just did an interview where they confirmed the Voyage Title Theme Music was now officially in and confirmed that the actors for Tuvok (Tim Russ) and Tom Paris (Robert Duncan McNeill) had joined to lend their voices. The voice acting won't be for the full game, but will be between chapters and pivotal moments.
It will be in the game, guessing they just couldn't (or chose not to) buy the rights to use it in advertising as well.
@Sonicmixer85 I would think most of them would be down to do it in mean, Kate Mulgrew and Jerri Ryan are constantly doing new little bits for Star Trek online. Actually they've all done bits for STO as far as im aware apart from Chakotay, who until progidy seemed happy to forget about Star Trek.
@Jennifer-e8gwould love it if they would add more actors voice overs to the game, but I'm sure there are scheduling challenges, budget challenges, and even just how and where do they add the voice overs.
Here's hoping that the game is so successful they pursue this with more additional content.

Force Command was a brilliant Voyager game and had the entire cast voice it - but it's far too dated now. I am looking forward to playing this but I really wish we could have Trek games where we could walk around the ships and look into all the rooms, chat with all the crew etc. That's the real Trekkies dream game :)
Ich verstehe nicht, warum man das nicht vertont hat. Heute kann jeder Heim-PC Perfekte Sprache generieren aus Text binnen Sekunden - z.B. mit Qwen3-TTS nicht von normaler Sprache und den echten Sprechern zu unterscheiden. Mit nur 3 Sekunden Beispielsound kann man beliebige Sprecher perfekt klonen (wenn man die Lizens hat). Ohne LIzens hätte man es aber zumindest vorlesen lassen können alle Texte. Hoffentlich ist es möglich das als Mod zu bauen! Die mp3s für die Texte kann ich gerne alle beisteuern für jede Sprache. @Daedalic ich kann euch da gerne helfen wenn ihr aus den Textdateien alle Sprache generieren wollt.

I am dissapointed after playing demo that there is no sound dialog only text. Game start you expect to hear Paris or Janeway voices and nothing. I understand it could be budget problem but is still a huge letdown. They could at last make Janeway or Tuvok narrators. After this let down the rest off the game is very good.

I can understand the music licensing costing more than full development but the sound kit? They got the licence to VOY, TNG and DS9 - you'd think the basic sounds were included..

Did they get around to fixing the sound effects? In the demo nothing sounded right e.g phaser, transports, warp drive. It made it seem like they got the rights to all the visuals but none of the sounds.

Really hoping this is the start of a new franchise of Star Trek games. Because man that beauty shot of DS9 was gorgeous. If only I could pre-order on PC because this feels like a game that plays better on PC.

While I'm eager for this and haven't really had time to try the demo proper, there is STILL no price on Steam and we're less than 2 days away. This is rather surprising and perhaps a little concerning.
P.S. I checked out your website and see the prices for the other consoles so at least I have an idea but now I learn that there's a deluxe version. I thought there wasn't going to be different versions of the game but I guess you meant preorder bonuses, not deluxe bonuses. Still looking forward to this. It really looks and feels like the Trek I know and love with building voyager up your own way, replayability with crew dying or even the ship and even actual proper combat. Really do think this is a game by the fans for the fans.
Now all I'd want is achievements.
Play the demo, instead of waffling endlessly about nothing.
