I would love to come back to it just it always seemed there was a hacker in every match or there was no one playing, plus for me the servers always had high ping so it was hard to play but i think if the game was sold to someone else like you said it could find a new life. i play hired ops now but its just not the same
Hey Marshal bro, an old fan here (previously Phantom Flame), I hope your health is better now (I'm in your discord server but inactive so not sure if you posted updates there). From what I can tell is that a lot of your fans that are asking for you to return to CW are just folks reminiscing about old times when the game was relatively more popular and when you were at the top of the leaderboard. I agree with your point that the game does not harbour much of an active playerbase anymore, which is sad to say at the very least but that's just the way it is. After you had to undergo chemo and all, you went quite inactive here with uploads, which was expected and needed, so a lot of the OG fans of yours never really saw the shift of your channel to a game that you covered as intensely as CW (yes, ik you played other games like modern warfare, Ironsight, black squad, bf5, and even dirt games, I remember joining into your pubg streams and typing random stuff in the chat to get your attention) due to which some people still expect you to cover CW, considering a lot of us (including myself) discovered you from that game itself. I'd personally like to see what game you plan on playing next, or even what you plan on doing with the channel going forward.

@@pikaman_ thank you bro for such a possitive comment. Yeah I took a break for a while. Enjoyed life...walked, lived far away from PC-mostly playing airsoft which I'm still doing and enjoy. I wanted to record airsoft videos but they were not that much popular and footage wasn't great so I've switched to airsoft replica review which were rly good and gaining more views than video games. But to record such a video and cover all infos rly takes a lot of time (still not excuse that I couldn't do a vid weekly). Tbh I played games but not streamed-still playing games but mostly for my pleasure. Like we join in Tarkov and camp or search for something which I believe is gonna be boring for viewers BUT it all depends maybe someone join only for chat/talk and not gameplay like it was before.
Contract Wars was the only game I was good at, no one literally killed me, good memories, I played it on Facebook but they removed it and I didn't know how to recover my account, I also forgot my Facebook ID and password so they went away the desire to start again. Now I play dota 2 and cs go
This video brings back so many memories. I first started playing this game around 10 years ago, and had so much fun even tho my pc was trash and I could only run this game on 20-30fps max on smaller maps. With that being said this game has been dead for quite a while now and it is time to move on for those who still haven't. I recently started playing Tarkov and have been enjoying it for the most part. I think uploading EFT videos might be a good step forward for your channel and I'll definitely be watching them if you choose to go in that direction.
Exactly bro... I guess a lot of us started playing cw cause od bad PC. Even I had 30-40fps and still it didnt push me away to have a great fun in this game. I rememeber saving just to get better pc parts to be able to play this game 😊

We play the game in Turkey and as a solution to our ping problem, priority connection was given to the server. :D That's why we have been actively playing in Turkey for 60CW and 6 years, and sometimes we even organize tournaments with prizes between us.

I guess on low levels it's better and more players, but other servers for 60+ are mostly empty. Also feels sad to see no1 ranked guy being banned for hacks.. LOL !!!
well game is preety dead ONLY what can be done is like gathering old friends and joining discord and playing together. I was thinking to try and gather players again and try to fill one server and play like 6vs6 hehe
Slow pace made the game feel unusual, I'd say this is a "realistic arcade" genere if i had to name it, slow movement made teams play off power positions
this game was a masterpiece for 2011 and above players , pretty graphics , gameplay fine for a fps , underestimated , there's some player on the servers now ?

MarshalONE! kinda late for this but glad to see you back and healthy mate! (unlike this game...) Contract Wars surely had it's golden years and it was good while it lasted. If you asked people what brought this game down to rubbles they would probably just answer hacks, bad moderation or obsolescence - and it does the job, but nowhere enough to explain what actually has led to this state, which i will do in this comment. So sit down, grab a popcorn, listen to a song or podcast because this is going to be a long one. ⚠WARNING: Wall of text ahead!!! Notes : all of this is given my knowledge about basically everything i know about the creator of those games and what surround them in the most simple way i could get it while not sacrificing crucial info. If anything, please correct me and agregate to this comment! So first things first, i'm going to split this great wall of text into 2 following topics with parts : 1) History : • Nikita Buyanov's Dream Project. • Golden Age of AbsolutSoft (now BattleState Games) • The Great Downfall. 2) A Possible Renaissance : • What made the game so popular and how could it be revived to get even a tenth of the old player base back. So let's start from the beggining. 1) History of the entire Nikita Buyanov, i guess. • There's this guy called Nikita Buyanov (nicknamed Trainfender and artistically named Geneburn) , he liked playing videogames, especially hardcore, intense FPS games. In the late 2000s early 2010s he had (and still have) a very ambitious dream of making an open world hardcore shooter called Russia 2028. With little to no knowledge about pretty much anything related to game development and worldbuilding and the alike, he dedicated himself to gather friends and people to help him out on the development of the concept. The concept in question was developed using Cryengine (game engine notoriously known thanks to games like the original Far Cry, Prey, Kingdom Come and the almighty Crysis.) which Nikita and company managed to squeeze good potential of, as seen from gameplay footages that can be found on RUclips. And with that, Nikita already managed to catch many folks' interest that subsequently led to more recruitment of people to the project. BUT, although Russia 2028 being Nikita's main scope, he didn't have enough to give life to such AAA game like this with that few people and budget. Hmmm... So... he had the team, and a bit of experience with game development (and other obscure browser games) knowledge enough to create something SIMPLE and intuitive... but also quite revolutionary for the time. He and his team experimented with some assets and mechanics of Russia 2028 concept and started another concept : A simple browser-based FPS game where you... shoot targets with random guns to score points? Yeah i know this wasn't very har'core-esque of Mr. Buyanov, but believe it or not, this simple target shooting game was the very foundations for one of the best browser games ever made! The simple browser target shooting game, would, later, essentialy become a game-shaped frankenstein, going for a S.T.A.L.K.E.R inspiration for the atmosphere - aesthetics and lore, Counter Strike core gameplay mechanics, and a bit of Call of Duty and Battlefield sauce for audiovisual details, gunplay and progression style, and the outstanding Unity engine graphics as icing for the cake. A perfect alternative to those Triple A games at the time for weaker machines. Later on, the game eventually hit alpha stage, which introduced updates such as online multiplayer support and maps, guns and other features like skill trees and packages that could be unlocked with microtransactions, shaping it into just another Freemium browser game. Between the timeframe of those events (Mid-Late 2011) • The Golden Age of AbsolutSoft (now BattleState Games) Begins. For a side project, Contract Wars was doing pretty good at the time, millions and millions of new players worldwide thanks to the "western" (Facebook and Kongregate) release, tournaments and major competitive events, special prizes and ludicrous amounts of income to the studio (AbsolutSoft published the game themselves) Nikita was finally able to make his future dream projects come true. With BattleState Games founded, they headed on sculpting their next big project : Escape From Tarkov - One of the most recognizable (and polemical at that) games of the game industry today. Fast foward to late 2015 and onwards, spotlights are directed to the release and support of CW Standalone (later renamed Hired Ops) and EFT. What was already on the back burner was even more further away from BattleState Games' priorities, as if the ceasing support of NPAPI for browsers wasn't enough. Later on to 2016 and 2017, Hired Ops releases and it turned out to be an absolute flop. Contract Wars was starting to die really fast thanks to the aforementioned but it was still receiving kinda ok support and customization updates. And EFT was and STILL IS BattleState's favorite child. • So, The Great Downfall, lasting to this day, enters scene. With all the efforts and budget wasted on Hired Ops (which later got a massive and totally unnecessary overhaul that actually made the game kinda worse somehow, which made it the final shovel to bury the coffin.) they just head on to keep the golden egg chicken farm. Then, Contract Wars enters a state that seems perpetual because almost nothing changed (for the better) in the game even with the 2018~2021 major customization updates. Not accounting for massive DDoS attack waves that's still lasting to this very moment (people playing earrape sound effects on matches, kicking and banning, and like your case, low key INVADING accounts to transfer GP to clans.) and corrupt admins/moderators (which isn't anything new according to some old posts...) accepting unban bribes and even shielding cheaters. Meanwhile, Escape From Tarkov, still frozen in beta state, being rightfully stomped on after devs neglectfully refuse to listen to their community for QoL features such as being able to play single-player mode (already possible with mods) OBVIOUS bugs not being fixed and the recent Pay to Win DLCs scandal. At this point, it's needless to say that Nikita's actions led his reputation coming full circle because he just can't manage to keep up the consistency with his business and promisses. So this is all about Nikita Buyanov that i could rush into some quick chunks of text, despite letting some details slip, such as when he got into trouble because of non-authorized use of some resources like 3D Gun models and whatnots. With all that live-long-enough-to-become-the-villain show out of the way, let's get into the next topic: 2) A Possible Renaissance : How could an online-only game be ressurrected from absolute ashes and stand as a worthy father of Escape from Tarkov. • Novelty to nobody that online-only games sooner or later die due to the company or studio running it not having the budget to cover the licenses forever or servers inevitably emptying or shutting down for various reasons. And the same can be said for community and fans consequently making it out to revive those games by either hosting private servers and clients or to extremes like reverse engineering and EVEN rebuilding the game from scratch on a different engine, in this case updating to a recent version of Unity. At this point it's a no brainer to not worry with copyright issues with all the boycott that this game is suffering since 8 years ago and counting, which IS leading to the closure of the game, the crucial element for it to be revived without issues. The great issue here is, the game's community in general is so shrinked and... devoid of such knowledge that this might not come off as wonderful and dreamy as it seems, despite some... rather notable exceptions (i'm looking at you Avoca) The current situation makes me cynical to a point that, even if people manage to do so, it won't be the same anymore. You see.. what got this game to the top of browser games food chain was the novelty of such graphically advanced game running in your mom's facebook account. In other words, this wouldn't be worth it, perhaps the same DDoS and cheating issues would still happen, the irreversible mess that the customization 2.0 did to the otherwise wonderfully balanced weapons... and at the very end of the day, it would come off as an another undead random FPS game out there anyway. The ONLY possible new players would be diehard EFT fans exploring historic terrains for curiosity's sake, if a random gameplay video isn't enough. Anyway, thanks for reading that TOWER of a text, i felt like i REALLY needed to get some of you to snap back to reality so you people stop insert your coins on broken machines. Now back to the personals, i really didn't expect a GOD like you making this comeback, to this day i consider you part of the "Four Horsemen of Western Contract Wars Players" along with CaptainCW - KINE and Luftangreifer (Russian ones being Diplodocus (yes i know) - ZateckyGus - VoodyEpic and Walenoc, even if i didn't understand a single flying shit they were talking hahah) I just want to say: I CAN'T THANK YOU ENOUGH for making this game's peak times and my childhood shine better! You did the immeasurable for this game and community while it thrived, but now, it's time to let history be history, and the legends their deserved rest. I believe after Tarkov Nikita will return to Russia2028 but man I think R2028 is actually Tarkov because when you compare it thats it it looks like that just way better and polished. He tryed to force eft arena but that game share faith of hired ops dont know why... Wish I played with all this big youtubers in that golden era of CW but I was little late heh. Also that guy something like XINYA was doing good videos for yt

Hey fam! I've been playing Hired Ops recently - it's in a much MUCH better state than it used to be, genuinely extremely fun, free, bots have been implemented so all servers are always full. However, one minor (!) issue is that the developers have completely abandoned the game, going so far as to not fixing purchasing bugs (which directly makes them money). Even Steam Support said they cannot reach the developers. We know they're active since they just released the underperforming EFT Arena, and I get not actively developing HOPS, but completely abandoning it with 0 support, 0 player interaction and 0 transparency is kinda not cool.
I guess there is nothing I can do.. when I send them msg noone even rply.. you cant contact them on email or somewhere on social media, and without that you know it's not good when you are not able to comunicate...
@@marshalonegaming Yeah that sucks, but at least the game is really fun. The corporation levels and clan contracts are too grindy, and are necessary to unlock some weapons, but overall, I can't find many things that HOPS does worse than CW. CW's simplicity was very unique, and HOPS is a bit more complicated with actual recoil and sprinting and a shop and stuff. But unless you want a 1-1 recreation of CW, HOPS is very close and very good IMO

Eto ja nisam usao punih 5g u CW.. prije toga sam nekima pomogao da budem u videu da on odradi lvl 70 na meni i dali su mi 10 000GP (a nisam ni trazio) ono rado cu uci ajde neka neko uradi taj level ako mu je tolika zelja da to bude na meni, i kao da je tad malo bolja igra bila (a proslo je svega 3-4mj) ovo sad trenutno je bas jako lose :/
@@marshalonegaming Ma ja mislim da iz ovog sad stanja moze ic samo u gore ovo je katastrofa sto su uradili. Ne mozes nikad uc u igricu da ima vise od 20-30 ljudi da igraju i da se nadje neki server da je pun. Sta ces jbg usrali su je da je ostalo jos samo da je ugase i to bi i bilo to.
I am still playing game just for the sake of trying to unlock everything that is it but since I am in australia atm the servers are laggy but well just for the good old times. Also this game would have kind of still lasted if the devs just didn't outright abandon it I guess.
I miss the old day of contract wars I try to play occasionally lake death match is still fun just sucks is how you said is high lvls, and hired ops let those of us that wanted the cw feel but better mechanics.

Last time I played this game, the game tried to download viruses to my PC multiple times, maybe because I was using an updated launcher? I love this game, and I'd love to come back to it but it needs a refresh on graphics and UI, the sandbox is for the most part ok and they should leave it alone. At this point in time anybody should have a decent pc that can at least run CSGO, PCs have evolved a lot, it's not like we are playing on Intel core i3s or pentium processors anymore.
Feels sad to see CW lasted for so long.. hired ops was big hype and died so fast also empty as CW (even worse). EFT is being just like CW on steroids ppl like it too much... they made Arena and BOOM same fate as HOPS... sometimes I wonder WHY!? WHY ppl don't like every new game made by them :/ tbh I like arena its like CW/EFT just awesome BUT...

@@TheKingJuliano true...they removed that price cause it was greedy af. I also got PVE on eod (Nikita said he will give it to EOD owners). But PVE was hype but imo it's boring and feels like I'm playing some cheap copy of tarkov :D hehe
Imho...the devs are just greedy and wanna keep milking a dead game, the fanbase has pleaded time and time again to sell the game to a different studio that could nurse it back to life but nope they just keep holding the game till its forgotten
M8 as another veteran player who started back in the gold days at 2014 and retired in 2020 I gotta tell you: "Don't come back to CW" the game died, its full of hackers, corrupt mods and little to no players are left. Do not let nostalgia make waste time on this forgotten Nikita buyanov project, let this have a peaceful death. I can't even play for the worsened ping, 1.5 secs of delay is insane!! (For me & my ping) Just do Tarkov or HO.. your vids with Swan and the guys are gold. And bro..CW was transfered from absolutsoft to Battlestate games cuz Absolutsoft was closed ..WTF!
yeah I saw BSG overtook CW but have on mind it's the same company who stands behind CW, HOPS, EFT.. it's the same developers... about mods I guess you are right. What is sad to see no1 player is banned while other top 10 players have a lot of skill points and they unlocked almost all skills in their skill tree... it's impossible to play against guys like them in normal mode. No wonder why these 2-3 servers that are with players are HC servers... game is like "milked" and they took money and said ok enough bye.
@@marshalonegaming You have a fair point, sadly the game must die as long Nikita an his cheeks scream: "guys, i wanna revive CW cuz we f'd up Tarkov and i dunno how to bring back our loyal player base" Some years ago there was a misterious Telegram channel where for a fair price you could get access to the "console mode" and unlock all the features of the game you desire. But seriously think again, its been years..they didn't gave u shit when the game was at its prime.They never told you "Marcelo mi amigo, you are the top 1 on FB and top content creator and we're going to give you something to thank you" and why they should give you now all the awards you want?

To me time didn’t kill the game. Devs, moderators, renters, sps whales and cheaters were the main causes. Sorry for people who is still playing this only because they cannot play another thing, and for the ones that can play other thing and still playing this only for the memories GO AND GET HELP!!
nice nostalgia moment there😅 thanx for that bro. for the game I have to say it's over and has been for some time. numbers of players have decreased and number of cheating jerks have increased over time. it has been fun while it lasted. So imho there is nothing to gain here and you should leave it be.
Yo. There is sadly too much bad decisions from CW team. Even the hired ops fell off. I remember only good memories from this game and i will open the launcher at least once a year just for the sentiments but there is no way that this game will gain any popularity now. Too much cheaters and no updates was only cause of old age of this game and the only way to rescurect the game in my opinion is to make CW 2 with updated graphics, mechanics but with core gameplay and progression left alone. I would suggest to just gather rescorces untill the team is ready and go 100% into making the new CW avoiding hired ops mistakes. I was watching you marshal since like 2016 or something and saw how the servers where getting empty week by week and how every one was leaving loobys since there was no moderation of hackers. All this game is right now is good memories
atleast CW had best memories of my gaming life... meet so many new friends talked with so many ppl on dolby and discord, that game was amazing. Still remember the 1st day I discovered it and started. I enjoyed every moment of it.. and no single game had such a big and great community... Because of CW I started yt videos and gained popularity... too bad I couldn't do it before cause I haven't had good PC and internet but we all shared same story and most important we all had a great time playing it!
@@marshalonegaming I bet 90% ppl who discovered CW had crap PC setup XD. It was one of the first fps i played since i was too young to afford any paid game and it was amazing. I remember when my parents limited my time to 2h 3 times a week and all of it was spent in Contract wars. now that i can play as much as i want i miss that game.
There's no need to come back to CW, sadly that game has died, mods hardly help against hackers, and you find the same 10 players on every match, there are thousands of different games. I changed CW for Valorant, not the best one, but I have great times on swiftplay and unranked
upravo brate... kad samo skontam koliko sam drzava, gradova obisao, koliko sam novih ljudi upoznao uzivo, koliko njih su ostali prijatelji i do dan danas, kad pogledam to je novi ljudi upoznati na igrici i prijateljstvo koje traje 10+ godina i dan danas nekog novog sa CW upoznas nakon toliko godina i uvijek se prisjetite igre i svega... Igra je stvarno imala prebolestan vibe! Timovi, zajebancije, price, druzenja, nerviranja, nadmetanja... jednom rijecju prejaka igra i prejak memory!

I wanted to record airsoft videos but they were not that much popular and footage wasn't great so I've switched to airsoft replica review which were rly good and gaining more views than video games. But to record such a video and cover all infos rly takes a lot of time (still not excuse that I couldn't do a vid weekly). Tbh I played games but not streamed-still playing games but mostly for my pleasure. Like we join in Tarkov and camp or search for something which I believe is gonna be boring for viewers BUT it all depends maybe someone join only for chat/talk and not gameplay like it was before.

Contract Wars was the only game I was good at, no one literally killed me, good memories, I played it on Facebook but they removed it and I didn't know how to recover my account, I also forgot my Facebook ID and password so they went away the desire to start again. Now I play dota 2 and cs go
This video brings back so many memories. I first started playing this game around 10 years ago, and had so much fun even tho my pc was trash and I could only run this game on 20-30fps max on smaller maps. With that being said this game has been dead for quite a while now and it is time to move on for those who still haven't. I recently started playing Tarkov and have been enjoying it for the most part. I think uploading EFT videos might be a good step forward for your channel and I'll definitely be watching them if you choose to go in that direction.
Exactly bro... I guess a lot of us started playing cw cause od bad PC. Even I had 30-40fps and still it didnt push me away to have a great fun in this game. I rememeber saving just to get better pc parts to be able to play this game 😊

Contract Wars surely had it's golden years and it was good while it lasted.
If you asked people what brought this game down to rubbles they would probably just answer hacks, bad moderation or obsolescence
- and it does the job, but nowhere enough to explain what actually has led to this state, which i will do in this comment.
So sit down, grab a popcorn, listen to a song or podcast because this is going to be a long one.
⚠WARNING: Wall of text ahead!!!
Notes : all of this is given my knowledge about basically everything i know about the creator of those games and what surround them in the most simple way i could get it while not sacrificing crucial info.
If anything, please correct me and agregate to this comment!
So first things first, i'm going to split this great wall of text into 2 following topics with parts :
1) History :
• Nikita Buyanov's Dream Project.
• Golden Age of AbsolutSoft (now BattleState Games)
• The Great Downfall.
2) A Possible Renaissance :
• What made the game so popular and how could it be revived to get even a tenth of the old player base back.
So let's start from the beggining.
1) History of the entire Nikita Buyanov, i guess.
• There's this guy called Nikita Buyanov (nicknamed Trainfender and artistically named Geneburn) , he liked playing videogames, especially hardcore, intense FPS games.
In the late 2000s early 2010s he had (and still have) a very ambitious dream of making an open world hardcore shooter called Russia 2028.
With little to no knowledge about pretty much anything related to game development and worldbuilding and the alike, he dedicated himself to gather friends and people to help him out on the development of the concept.
The concept in question was developed using Cryengine (game engine notoriously known thanks to games like the original Far Cry, Prey, Kingdom Come and the almighty Crysis.) which Nikita and company managed to squeeze good potential of, as seen from gameplay footages that can be found on RUclips.
And with that, Nikita already managed to catch many folks' interest
that subsequently led to more recruitment of people to the project.
BUT, although Russia 2028 being Nikita's main scope, he didn't have enough to give life to such AAA game like this with that few people and budget.
Hmmm... So... he had the team, and a bit of experience with game development (and other obscure browser games) knowledge enough to create something SIMPLE and intuitive... but also quite revolutionary for the time.
He and his team experimented with some assets and mechanics of Russia 2028 concept and started another concept : A simple browser-based FPS game where you... shoot targets with random guns to score points?
Yeah i know this wasn't very har'core-esque of Mr. Buyanov, but believe it or not, this simple target shooting game was the very foundations for one of the best browser games ever made!
The simple browser target shooting game, would, later, essentialy become a game-shaped frankenstein, going for a S.T.A.L.K.E.R inspiration for the atmosphere - aesthetics and lore, Counter Strike core gameplay mechanics, and a bit of Call of Duty and Battlefield sauce for audiovisual details, gunplay and progression style, and the outstanding Unity engine graphics as icing for the cake. A perfect alternative to those Triple A games at the time for weaker machines.
Later on, the game eventually hit alpha stage, which introduced updates such as online multiplayer support and maps, guns and other features like skill trees and packages that could be unlocked with microtransactions, shaping it into just another Freemium browser game.
Between the timeframe of those events (Mid-Late 2011)
• The Golden Age of AbsolutSoft (now BattleState Games) Begins.
For a side project, Contract Wars was doing pretty good at the time, millions and millions of new players worldwide thanks to the "western" (Facebook and Kongregate) release, tournaments and major competitive events, special prizes and ludicrous amounts of income to the studio (AbsolutSoft published the game themselves) Nikita was finally able to make his future dream projects come true.
With BattleState Games founded, they headed on sculpting their next big project : Escape From Tarkov - One of the most recognizable (and polemical at that) games of the game industry today.
Fast foward to late 2015 and onwards, spotlights are directed to the release and support of CW Standalone (later renamed Hired Ops) and EFT. What was already on the back burner was even more further away from BattleState Games' priorities, as if the ceasing support of NPAPI for browsers wasn't enough.
Later on to 2016 and 2017, Hired Ops releases and it turned out to be an absolute flop. Contract Wars was starting to die really fast thanks to the aforementioned but it was still receiving kinda ok support and customization updates. And EFT was and STILL IS BattleState's favorite child.
• So, The Great Downfall, lasting to this day, enters scene.
With all the efforts and budget wasted on Hired Ops (which later got a massive and totally unnecessary overhaul that actually made the game kinda worse somehow, which made it the final shovel to bury the coffin.) they just head on to keep the golden egg chicken farm.
Then, Contract Wars enters a state that seems perpetual because almost nothing changed (for the better) in the game even with the 2018~2021 major customization updates. Not accounting for massive DDoS attack waves that's still lasting to this very moment (people playing earrape sound effects on matches, kicking and banning, and like your case, low key INVADING accounts to transfer GP to clans.) and corrupt admins/moderators (which isn't anything new according to some old posts...) accepting unban bribes and even shielding cheaters.
Meanwhile, Escape From Tarkov, still frozen in beta state, being rightfully stomped on after devs neglectfully refuse to listen to their community for QoL features such as being able to play single-player mode (already possible with mods) OBVIOUS bugs not being fixed and the recent Pay to Win DLCs scandal.
At this point, it's needless to say that Nikita's actions led his reputation coming full circle because he just can't manage to keep up the consistency with his business and promisses.
So this is all about Nikita Buyanov that i could rush into some quick chunks of text, despite letting some details slip, such as when he got into trouble because of non-authorized use of some resources like 3D Gun models and whatnots.
With all that live-long-enough-to-become-the-villain show out of the way, let's get into the next topic:
2) A Possible Renaissance : How could an online-only game be ressurrected from absolute ashes and stand as a worthy father of Escape from Tarkov.
• Novelty to nobody that online-only games sooner or later die due to the company or studio running it not having the budget to cover the licenses forever or servers inevitably emptying or shutting down for various reasons.
And the same can be said for community and fans consequently making it out to revive those games by either hosting private servers and clients or to extremes like reverse engineering and EVEN rebuilding the game from scratch on a different engine, in this case updating to a recent version of Unity.
At this point it's a no brainer to not worry with copyright issues with all the boycott that this game is suffering since 8 years ago and counting, which IS leading to the closure of the game, the crucial element for it to be revived without issues.
The great issue here is, the game's community in general is so shrinked and... devoid of such knowledge that this might not come off as wonderful and dreamy as it seems, despite some... rather notable exceptions (i'm looking at you Avoca)
The current situation makes me cynical to a point that, even if people manage to do so, it won't be the same anymore.
You see.. what got this game to the top of browser games food chain was the novelty of such graphically advanced game running in your mom's facebook account. In other words, this wouldn't be worth it, perhaps the same DDoS and cheating issues would still happen, the irreversible mess that the customization 2.0 did to the otherwise wonderfully balanced weapons... and at the very end of the day, it would come off as an another undead random FPS game out there anyway. The ONLY possible new players would be diehard EFT fans exploring historic terrains for curiosity's sake, if a random gameplay video isn't enough.
Anyway, thanks for reading that TOWER of a text, i felt like i REALLY needed to get some of you to snap back to reality so you people stop insert your coins on broken machines.
Now back to the personals, i really didn't expect a GOD like you making this comeback, to this day i consider you part of the "Four Horsemen of Western Contract Wars Players" along with CaptainCW - KINE and Luftangreifer (Russian ones being Diplodocus (yes i know) - ZateckyGus - VoodyEpic and Walenoc, even if i didn't understand a single flying shit they were talking hahah)

I believe after Tarkov Nikita will return to Russia2028 but man I think R2028 is actually Tarkov because when you compare it thats it it looks like that just way better and polished. Hey fam! I've been playing Hired Ops recently - it's in a much MUCH better state than it used to be, genuinely extremely fun, free, bots have been implemented so all servers are always full.
However, one minor (!) issue is that the developers have completely abandoned the game, going so far as to not fixing purchasing bugs (which directly makes them money). Even Steam Support said they cannot reach the developers. We know they're active since they just released the underperforming EFT Arena, and I get not actively developing HOPS, but completely abandoning it with 0 support, 0 player interaction and 0 transparency is kinda not cool.
I guess there is nothing I can do.. when I send them msg noone even rply.. you cant contact them on email or somewhere on social media, and without that you know it's not good when you are not able to comunicate...

The corporation levels and clan contracts are too grindy, and are necessary to unlock some weapons, but overall, I can't find many things that HOPS does worse than CW.
CW's simplicity was very unique, and HOPS is a bit more complicated with actual recoil and sprinting and a shop and stuff. But unless you want a 1-1 recreation of CW, HOPS is very close and very good IMO

Eto ja nisam usao punih 5g u CW.. prije toga sam nekima pomogao da budem u videu da on odradi lvl 70 na meni i dali su mi 10 000GP (a nisam ni trazio) ono rado cu uci ajde neka neko uradi taj level ako mu je tolika zelja da to bude na meni, i kao da je tad malo bolja igra bila (a proslo je svega 3-4mj) ovo sad trenutno je bas jako lose :/

I miss the old day of contract wars I try to play occasionally lake death match is still fun just sucks is how you said is high lvls, and hired ops let those of us that wanted the cw feel but better mechanics.

Last time I played this game, the game tried to download viruses to my PC multiple times, maybe because I was using an updated launcher? I love this game, and I'd love to come back to it but it needs a refresh on graphics and UI, the sandbox is for the most part ok and they should leave it alone. At this point in time anybody should have a decent pc that can at least run CSGO, PCs have evolved a lot, it's not like we are playing on Intel core i3s or pentium processors anymore.
csgo2 is atm probably the best free2play game and has a bright future same as CSGO

for the game I have to say it's over and has been for some time. numbers of players have decreased and number of cheating jerks have increased over time. it has been fun while it lasted. So imho there is nothing to gain here and you should leave it be.

Yo. There is sadly too much bad decisions from CW team. Even the hired ops fell off. I remember only good memories from this game and i will open the launcher at least once a year just for the sentiments but there is no way that this game will gain any popularity now. Too much cheaters and no updates was only cause of old age of this game and the only way to rescurect the game in my opinion is to make CW 2 with updated graphics, mechanics but with core gameplay and progression left alone. I would suggest to just gather rescorces untill the team is ready and go 100% into making the new CW avoiding hired ops mistakes. I was watching you marshal since like 2016 or something and saw how the servers where getting empty week by week and how every one was leaving loobys since there was no moderation of hackers. All this game is right now is good memories

There's no need to come back to CW, sadly that game has died, mods hardly help against hackers, and you find the same 10 players on every match, there are thousands of different games. I changed CW for Valorant, not the best one, but I have great times on swiftplay and unranked

upravo brate... kad samo skontam koliko sam drzava, gradova obisao, koliko sam novih ljudi upoznao uzivo, koliko njih su ostali prijatelji i do dan danas, kad pogledam to je novi ljudi upoznati na igrici i prijateljstvo koje traje 10+ godina i dan danas nekog novog sa CW upoznas nakon toliko godina i uvijek se prisjetite igre i svega... Igra je stvarno imala prebolestan vibe! Timovi, zajebancije, price, druzenja, nerviranja, nadmetanja... jednom rijecju prejaka igra i prejak memory!
I have played this game about 9months. Too many cheaters on low lvl games. Usually 1-3 per match. Same with hardcore and high lvl servers.
And mods usually ban players by mistake and need to wait 1-2weeks before u get unbanned🥲

@@marshalonegaming Well, I think there are more game modes, so I would prefer hired ops. and I personally feel like hired ops is more enjoyable to play. I also consider maps similar to contract wars a plus
@@noodles9699 eft arena is all of that just on steroids. Bay5 on arena is just like bay5 just with high end graphics details and lik bit "new" things on map design

Meni krivo sto sam KUVAR pa nemam vremena za to sve ali vidim potencijal za lovu u tarkovu jer 80 posto ljudi samo gleda tarkov jako malo igra.
