TECHNICAL CONSIDERATIONS
ABRSM’s recommended tempo for this piece is 90 bpm, which is the speed played in this video.
A strong, steady pulse is needed throughout, along with a good contrast between the long, held minim fifths, which occur throughout the piece and the percussive staccato crotchets in the left hand part.
Watch out for the small decrescendo in bar 8, and the crescendo in bars 11 - 12.
Also remember the pedal marking on the last two bars and the 8va (octave lower) note on the final C.
