I don't have the game, never played it. But am always thinking about how set up affects riding. Do you think setting your bike up differently for a lower lean setting would help? Stiffer compression or faster rebound could change how a lower lean angle feels. Might be worth testing lower lean angles with a different bike set up if you like the smoother feeling
Also a shorter chassis would make the bike change directions faster but possibly create a little under steer. longer chassis would help with more stability and oversteer, but take longer to change directions.
This happened to me at a race last year. Let me tell you, its not easy pushing a bike up a small sandy slope on the last lap of a 90 min race lol I thought I was going to pass out afterwards
