Why is it that Crystal Sword is good on fighter if they build will and magic damage, but I don't see Wizards run Crystal Swords all that often? Shouldn't it be also good on them since they naturally build magic damage? Why do wizards mostly use staffs as their melee option and not Crystal Swords?
No wizard with a brain uses staff unless they’re running an ignite triple barrier bonk wizard build and that’s cuz of staff mastery, crystal sword isn’t as good on wizard cuz 1 ur nowhere near as tanky on wizard as u are as a pdr fighter so you can’t stand and box the same as the fighter at all and ontop of that you don’t build that much will on wizard u build more knowledge for the cast speed. Crystal sword fighter builds like 45 will wizard might have 30-35
It is good on them, i’ve gotten 4 tapped by a few wizards but they’re all so afraid to whip it out. Sometimes you gotta just put your book away, turn around and whip it out all over them, and it does damage
You could have gotten double ms plate boots with a 3rd stat to make the build better optimized but they would have cost about 2k. You would have been 293 with +5ms and +1.5%. edit: I hope everyone watches that rondel fighter just using bow and sees how cringe it actually is. kite and kiter
I get that the HP is insane, but with recent buff to the torq of souls, wouldnt be a good alternative vs the flat 7 hp of a neck of peace? just picking your brain rn
They should remove bows from all classes except ranger. Crossbows are fine, so you still have long range poke to fight, but now fighters and bards can be better rangers then rangers themselves while still having all they're other power. Plus it feels like having so many bow users is bad for the game, as it feels less fun to fight
from personal experience templar offers too low of PDR for it to be viable... BUT if you wanna be gigacannoncrystalmethlord420, and hit super hard, it's worth a try maybe. the will could be good but it's definitely a worse iteration of the build he's using
they need to add in different types of arrows that only the ranger can use, armor pen arrows, magic pen arrows, arrows in all rarities from grey to legendary!
you should try my ranger build i have 56% pdr with 35% phys power full add damage with bow and spear and positive move speed at 100% even. hp is 146 with spear out 138 base.
I feel like the magic sword is more of a hinderince for this build. You are able to make so much mistakes and misses a battle axe or zwie would be better
The reason crystal sword is better because it diversifies the damage output. You do 50% physical and 50% magical damage. So no matter who you fight you know you will do good damage. If you used one of those other weapons you would get destroyed by the rondel build
@@ClassicRedEye it's not the cleanest weapon but the benefit of diversifying damage output and also the fact that it makes will such an on role makes this weapon far better than the other weapons in solos

I just want to use a crystal sword and be a melee class, I love how the weapon works. The issue is that Warlock and Wizard aren’t melee classes. If I could build an effective melee kit for warlock and Wizard I would. If they do nerf Crystal sword fighter, I hope that it’s in such a way that it’s still viable, but not broken. But I think it’s more Plate Armor that is broken. If you can wear full plate you should be able to win any melee fight 100%
But as you definitely know more about the game than I do- what do you suggest be done without ruining the class fantasy of weapon mastery? I was thinking if the Magic/phys split is what is too strong here, what if they changed Crystal Sword damage to be more physical? Like 21/7 (I think the overall numbers would need to be higher to compensate) so it would scale like 21/7, 21/8, 22/9, 22/10, 23/11, 23/12 Magic damage bonus scales so much harder than phys damage, so having lower magic base damage might help?
