This brought a lot of beautiful memories back and some tears too. My dad played the accordion from the age of 7 when my grandad taught him and he sadly passed away last August. We still have his beautiful button Accordion. I’m hoping to learn how to play in order to bring this beautiful instrument back to life. Thank you for this wonderful history of the accordions. Musette tuning was developed to play with the French bagpipes (musette) from Auvergne - the 'pipes being straight tuned, not tempered. A wet tuning had a better more in-tune sound, thus this became popular in Scotland and Ireland.
