Great memories. I took classes in the early 1960's and later when I got married and had children I played for them. Don't forget to smile!

Awesome!! Thanks for so much interesting information. I play a 120 bass piano accordion. It’s such a joyful, fun instrument to play.

Great video Tom. Love that Guerrini sound!!! I have played Balkan music for many years. Where can I find a genuine Gueriini these days?

The Cajun and Quebecoise button box tunes would have been more authentic without piano accompaniment. 😊
Thank you for the fascinating journey through the many cultures and relatives of the accordion.

Fun and interesting. Learned a lot: there’s more to the button box than polkas and Ländler.

My brain is an empty vessel for you to squeeze in all this rich accordion history. Thank You for presenting us with this inspiring tale of bellows and immigrants/world artists. Long live the accordion.

This brought a lot of beautiful memories back and some tears too. My dad played the accordion from the age of 7 when my grandad taught him and he sadly passed away last August. We still have his beautiful button Accordion. I’m hoping to learn how to play in order to bring this beautiful instrument back to life. Thank you for this wonderful history of the accordions. It really is an incredible instrument and the accordionists on here are mind blowingly talented. So much gratitude for this wonderful presentation🙏🏽💯🌈⭐️✨💫🪗

Very good video. Well done! My rotator cuffs can no longer tolerate the weight of my 120 bass boxes, but I'm happy to still be able to play my Hohner Erica.
Might I suggest you check out the Estonian lõõtspill? Look for Juhan Uppin.

Musette tuning was developed to play with the French bagpipes (musette) from Auvergne - the 'pipes being straight tuned, not tempered. A wet tuning had a better more in-tune sound, thus this became popular in Scotland and Ireland.
