"The Lord has already won the victory. We fight not TO victory but FROM victory." --Fr. Louis. Wow.
That’s the Holy Spirit in action. Fr. Louis is truly amazing
@@alexsanchez8341 best quote ever! ✝️
I know. In theory we should already know it, but when it's said so concisely is like 😮
😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
I’m 😊😊😊😊😊😊
Father Louis was one of the priests at my church in Manhattan, he was incredible.
He lit up the church. The man has so much charisma.
I'm also fron Haiti so it made so proud ❤.
Bring back the manly, cigar smoking, beer drinking “come Holy Spirit” and “Praise the Lord” every five minutes priests like this one!! God bless this saintly man! His trust in God is SO inspiring
i saw the beer in his hand and said “woah” until I looked into it and realized that in catholicism (correct me if i’m wrong) beer drinking without intoxication is technically allowed?
@@tonybalongnaThat's correct; There's even a traditional beer blessing. I have no desire to drink alcohol but beer in itself is not evil. It's important to note that Jesus began his public ministry by turning water into wine at the wedding of Cana, after all
Amen!
Do you see now? thilat has masked the most important aspects of the conversation which is very enriching.
I blame"Pimts with Aquinas for"maybe" doing the right thing at the wrong time.
This was great, I'm on my way to Catholicism :)
Welcome! -Fr. Louis from the show.
Bishop Barron is the reason I stopped being a lukewarm Methodist at best to join the Catholic Church.
Ehre sei Gott!
Just don't leave Jesus out of your life. He is the only ONE that matters.
@@2017_K___BoothSince when does Catholics leave Jesus out if their lives. He is the centre of our lives
These are great topics. Love the monologue about the power of the African church. To this day they remain a powerhouse witness of Christ's love. God bless the African Church in their persecution.
Tbf his examples were almost exclusively north African.
@@chase6579 Does it matter? The African Catholic Church is incredible! Nigeria?! Amazing
@@bluecomb5376yes, and we must pray for the Nigerian Christians! The Muslim fighters slaughtered over a hundred Christians just because of their religion.
Mass attendance in Nigeria among Catholics is like 96%
Bless them for sending us their fathers as well. My parish priest is a Nigerian man, and he is the best priest! So passionate for the faith, and so tender and loving
"I wasn't successful at not being myself "......pure gold. Thanks father❤
We had the honor of having the father with us at our church down here in Miami for a brief period and I must say it was a privilege. He is wonderful and my mother and I often speak of him so seeing him on your show has truly made my heart smile. God Bless
@ St Augustine right?
yessirrr his homilies were fire and he pranked me multiple times
is this a fellow Ucatholic brother i see?👀👀
Oh my goodness. That’s why I remember him! I go there on occasion
"Beauty is always attractive, but beauty combined with virtue is irresistible." -Ven. Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen
Fathers prayer in the end was so powerful and beautiful. May God him and the Catholic Church abundantly.
May the Lord bless him!
You left out the word “bless”… …thought you might appreciate knowing that… 😅🙏🏼
I see you're imitating christ in making us partakers in your work
My bad🤭
@@maluillwe are made in the image of God. What better way to honor Him than to partake in what we see in God.
People should read about the life of Blessed Benedict Daswa! From Limpopo, South Africa. 1990 Martyr and patron of teachers, and against witchcraft and occult practices. Pray for us!
That’s awesome!! I’ll have to ask Bl Benedict to pray for a friend who was in OCIA w her husband but couldn’t convert. She comes from a family that practiced voodoo and is an amazing Christian now.
@@melissap5649 Yes! I think thats a splendid idea. Blessed Benedict, pray for us!
Amazing! I'm a South African Catholic and I'd love to read about saints from my country. Something about that is inspiring ❤
@@louannebvb SO cool!
Don’t forget we also have Servants of God, Dormitilla and Danny Hyams who opened a home for the disabled in Gauteng, worked all these lives for the disabled, very devout Catholics , the cause for their beatification has been submitted to Rome
Favorite guest ever! Drastically love this Holy Priest!
"In our poverty, we can love and give to others." I wrote that down in my prayer journal.
I’m glad that Fr. Louis is dedicated to Haiti because his people really need him. He did a good job of celebrating them despite all the difficulties.
As someone in a red state, it is Extremely peaceful! When I don’t watch the news, I wouldn’t even know what was going on because my lived experience is really joyful with the world around me. I don’t think we’re as divided as the media would like us to believe.
The only martyrs that I personally know were two Protestant missionary friends of mine, and they were missionaries to Haiti. They were just killed in May. They were good kids, and I can't imagine a higher honor than the one bestowed upon them.
I'm leaving this comment about 2 minutes into the video, and I'm going to look really stupid now if they get mentioned in the video and I left this comment instead of saying, "Yeah, I knew those kids!"
Edit: Literally 5 minutes later. Wow, I am an idiot. The kids were named Davy and Natalie, and the local man's name was Jude.
Yes they are in heaven
Beautiful modren marters. I Will ask them to look over My kids.
Thank you Father Louis. Prayers for you wherever you may go and for our catholic brothers and sisters in Haiti. Peace of Christ to you from South Florida.
This priest is phenomenal!
I love whenever Fr. Louis is on! 🇭🇹
I have never seen him before but I wish all priests in America were like him
🇭🇹
I had no idea there was another interview! Just found it. Thank you!
I love that Matt mentions custody of the eyes. It’s an unknown virtue that should be talked about more and taught to young men. I know a man is spiritually strong when they maintain custody of the eyes. Women notice.
Through our Lord, our Blessed Mother, all the Angels and Saints in Heaven, bless and protect this servant of God, Father Louis Merosne. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen, Amen, Amen. ❤
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
What a beautiful person. This is a Father that serves the Truth!
From practice witchcraft to enrolling in rcia this fall, Jesus is Lord and my Savior. I'm turning 29 and Fr. Mike has changed my life!! I'm even interested in going further in education and pursue a masters in catholic archeology
I actually went back to seeing the screen. Yep. Carnivore, Beer tasting & demon talk. This may now be my favorite channel.
My gosh! That line at 1:10:30 is just awesome. "My jurisdiction will become your cemetery..." 🤯 That's the kind of law enforcement that gang ridden communities need!
Broke my heart the story about the little girl saving the piece of meat for her little sister.
The humility of this conversation is beautiful ♥ Such a helpful perspective of Pope Francis!
Fr Louis Merosne isn't the hero/priest we deserve, but the hero/priest we need. Good bless him and all the other priests serving our Lord!
The first episode with Fr Louis was fantastic and this was a tremendous sequel. Fr Louis the closing statement you described so well how I feel about being Catholic, thankful can't begin to describe how I feel to be Catholic.
What a based priest!!!
Just wait, saying such a thing will be tragically sinful in a Pints episode 6 months from now.
@@laurants What? Explain.
@@peterpoulos6553 I am just being cynical. It's common for Matt to quip, "I love this and I hate myself for it." It seems that what necessitates an apology and a caveat includes both enjoying any substance or language. So 6 months from now a guest will arrive that says, "The word based is actually rooted in pride..."
@@laurants I understand where you are coming from. I think its good to hear from a variety of viewpoints but I can acknowledge a lot of weird perspectives religious zealots. I have heard people say stuff like 'dancing is inherently sinful' or quote a saint or pope out of context. I think that some people of either bad character or delusion can have issues with normal language. It could be due to insecurity, malice, or ignorance.
@@peterpoulos6553 Yes, I am tired though of the back and forth contradictions of enjoying life and hating the enjoyment of it. St. John of the Cross's "I am nothing" seems absolutely depressing on its face, but it is a logical conclusion to perfect humility since we are nothing without God. This doesn't equate to hating our own joy and happiness. Talk about being a mood killer.
God bless this priest for what he has to go through
This priest have a certain descriptive type of personality in his speech that reminds me of the way PBD speak in his podcasts. He’s very influential. Kudos to Matt and father Louis.
Incredible and beautiful! May God bless and protect this priest and all the innocent people in Haiti who are suffering at the hands of those evil people. ❤🙏🏼✝️
Really appreciated how this Priest articulated so much of the Soul ❤️🔥 Thank you for this
This episode has so many gems ! God bless you both !
Im living for this. Saint Padre pio of Pietrelcina has entered the chat lol!
What an inspiring interview! So much honesty and truth😇✝
Oh wait I thought we were hanging out and chillin , I didn’t know we were gonna talk about DEMONS!
😂
It's always demons :)
I was on autoplay. I thought it was a chill talk as well 😂
That we can talk about demons casually in conversation means we are chill 😎
It's in the title!
Prayers for all those whom experienced martyrdom and died for Christ, like he sacrificed Himself for us.
🙏
What a very beautiful explanation of celibacy @ 2:18:27! Yes the calling to sanctity comes first for all Christians. It is precisely the lack of understanding of the universal calling to sanctity that makes people misunderstand the calling to marriage and celibacy.
Thank you Matt Fradd
Thank you 2:37:02 for saying this Matt. You are articulating exactly what The Lord calls me to guard my lips and guard my eyes from judgement of others exactly this! I try to pray every day Psalm 141 for this reason! Such a beautiful conversation God bless Fr Merosne that celibacy piece I wish all priests hear this and married couples! Mind blown !!
I wasn't sure about watching this one, but I'm glad I did. Great episode! I love this priest.

Ok. Fr. Louis is awesome! 👏🏼 I need to hear more from him. I absolutely love his passion and personality!
You guys are both amazing. Thanks for this smart discussion.
I happen to be drinking bacardi rum while listening. Does this give me cool points? This is a great interview so far, not all the way through. Fr Louis seems awesome.
My favorite episode so far, Matt and Fr Louis. God bless you both.
My soul is on fire 🔥😃 one of my favorite videos ❤️ exactly what I need it 🎉 I love how Fr. Louis talks about Pope Francis 🌻
Fr.Louis is so amazing,I could listen to his story all day long & thank for having him on this show 😇🙏👍❤❤❤
I would listen to Fr. Louis read a phone book.
Glad Matt brought up Psalm 3:7. I added it as part of my livery on my car in Latin. Let the haters hate, the detractors detract but God is King and Lord of all, and the plans of man will falter.
Absolutely phenomenal. Thousand thanks for your work and testimony both of you! from El Paso, Texas.

This priest lives a Christly life better than most men. It makes me rejoice in my heart to know that he will receive his reward in the kingdom of heaven.
What a beautiful Godly priest, his joy is the most lovely thing about this conversation. ❤
Thank you for pointing out the great Eastern Orthodox Saints of the early Church out of the New Testament and ongoing.
Praise the Lord, I got excited when Fr. Louis mentioned a great firm by a Catholic entrepreneur for integral human development working with Catholic Church.
God I praise you and give you thanks even in this comment for this news I just hear.
“I really like her.” I want a husband who says this about me after years of being married and lots of hard times.
A certain T Marshall got absolutely dragged in this podcast, and all I can say is, about time.
What a wonderful interview, really made me understand more and more of the beautiful Catholic faith. GOD BLESS 🙏🏼
I agree I love his videos but the negativity made me stop watching him.
@@angelayesenia1898True, then I ask myself, why did he become Catholic?

as a long time viewer of Pints, its amazing to see how matt has journeyed and matured in his faith.
I appreciate the way these two gentleman interacted. And enjoyed their conversation. More Christian brothers should emulate them. They almost convinced me to become Christian again.
May God protect and bless this holy priest, Fr. Louis.
I feel so fortunate to have been able to watch this episode! Thank you Matt. Thanks to Pints with Aquinas.
I’m so happy to see this! Fr Louis, it would be so wonderful for you to visit! It’s been so long! God bless you!
wait WHAT!? Fr Louise was a temporary chaplain at University of Miami. I have done confession with that man and i never knew that he knew my favorite Male Influencer
The celibacy part is the best!
I just love the way you describe and explain it so well in a very practical and clear way!!!
Really loved this conversation, Glory to Jesus Christ ✝️
Whew! Made a debt in cleaning up basement storage while listening to the last hour or so! Excellent discussion to listen to while clearing out stuff. I should go back and replay the whole thing and get back downstairs.
That’s how I get things done too! Gotta love PWA! ❤
Maybe the Catholic Church should change the names to clarify. Just an idea. Praying for Haiti.
They have slowly started to refer to the conference as the Conference of Catholic Bishops of Haiti.
@pawollatounenmoun Sad that people donʼt know that the adjective of bishop is episcopal
Thank you for your ministry at the Franciscan adult conference. Your lecture and your leading of the Eucharistic Procession meant so me.
Subjugate obviously means to conquer and to then rule. It definitely doesn't mean to enslave, though that could happen concurrently. Subjugation, in this instance would be to wrest the moors from Turkish rule. It doesn't even necessarily mean to force them to convert.
A king has subjects and subjugation is the transferring from one king to another. They are made peasants but they already are peasants and peasants are not slaves.
Really enjoyed listening to Fr. Louis!
What a heart, what a man.
OH MAN. I only caught part of this but how wonderful
About European catholicism compared to American catholicism: as a European I know that there are a lot of movements where people find home and guidance. But the strength of Americans or just English speaking cultures is somehow the story telling, and wording. At least in my observation. I not only like to listen to English catholic content but I also prefer to read English literature and watch English movies. So I gues it has something to do with language, culture and heritage. and the Internet and tech serve to propel these contents to a worldwide level
Thank you, Matt, for the humility you displayed in this episode. Thank you for being vulnerable and admitting to attitudes and deeds that the Lord is calling you to repent of. It's both reassuring and inspiring. God bless you
At 2:39, Father talks about looking at others with REVERENCE. Frank Sheed has a great quote in Society and Sanity....."That which we do not revere, we will profane."
May God help me (and all of us) to revere the Lord and my fellow man, AND myself.
Never heard Fathers rebuttal to the "bad white European Christian roots" argument till now: early church fathers are of African descent, and they had tremendous influence on the culture of the church
Thanks for sharing about the strength and faith of the Hatian people.😊
Matt’s Episcopal comments had me rolling. I’m digging the Catholic vigilante justice crew idea. Haha
Thank you guys for this video!! This show is amazing! Helps pass the time at work
I love Ft. Merosnes perspective on ecumenism! I think he is perfectly right here, the church as Jesus bride without spot or wrinkle I'm afraid will not mean, that we in the end will all come around to have the correct doctrinal perspective (whichever that may be, speaking as a Pentecostal protestant here). But it will mean, that we will walk in true, brotherly love for one another despite our differences, and there is here a depth of love that actually can only be expressed, if someone is wrong in your opinion. Its easy to love someone who disagrees with you, but its hard to love someone who maybe holds an even repulsive doctrine. I think that is the endgame for the church, for all of us to learn to not compromise on doctrine, but to recognize where doctrine is not important enough to divide over. Obviously there are the essentials of the faith, I still owe a Muslim a certain kind of love, but he isn't my brother in Christ. That, however, is different with you Catholics :). I honestly think you're wrong, but if only we can come to the point of truly loving each other as brothers in Jesus, that will be enough
Great conversation! I went to Fr. Louis’ talk at the Power and Purpose conference. It was good. He also processed with the Eucharistic and the heavy looking Monstrance during Holy Hour for what seemed like way longer than an hour. Tough priest
I remember reading a book about voodoo when I was a kid ( I wasn’t even aware of what I was reading until later) a kid won a potato chip contest and used the money to buy voodoo things to make a doll to beat up his school bully. Looks back I’m shocked my mom didn’t screen that at the library she was all on top of that no Harry Potter even. I hope we get more books like Narnia soon
Have you read LOTR? :)
Such a knowlegeable priest.
He even comes with sound effects
Fr. Louis' analogy of the stair case was so so good. Loved it.
So good. One of my favorite episodes.
Very good listen. This priest is brilliant!

Just letting you know that the chapters are a bit messed up. Great video, so glad I got to hear from this Father!
Amazing interview. Bless both of you 🙏🏼
MATT, have you never heard of beef carpaccio?!? It's one of the most delicious dishes I've ever had.
Father Louis is a truly wonderful priest and this was a great conversation. But… it’s not weird to eat raw meat. Haven’t they heard of tartare or carpaccio?…🥩
Gored gored is one of my favorites meals!
Love this priest!! His passion for Christ. ✝️
Please have father on again. This was great
This was an amazing interview with the good Fr. He really held my attention as there is so much in what he says that in a sense is a warning to where we are heading.
Incidentally Matt, i gather from the beginning of this interview that your wife has some sort of chronic arthritis. Has she tried homeopathic treatment (ps, it is not voodoo or even woo woo). My arthritis has improved way beyond my expectations after 2 months under homeopathic treatment. Its definitely worth a try.
This was awesome. Really enjoyed hanging with you guys. God bless.
Just...WoW!
I loved this interview! Thank you for sharing!
The beer of the Benedictines of Norcia Norcina made me realize I too love beer! However, due to gluten, beer does not love me back!
