Thailand is the greatest country in the world. I was born and raised as a Thai 🇹🇭 and it will be my forever home. Other countries are also amazing and I’ve been to like 20 countries now. Every time I leave Thailand I always misses it. Other countries I’ve been like France or Italy are also great but for me personally in my opinion it’s not as convenient and comfortable as Thailand. If you haven’t come here yet you should definitely come. If you’re looking for a tourist spot go to Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket, Rayong and much more the oceans here are beautiful. If you like mountains go to khao yai. There are lots of mountains and wildlife. 🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭
I’m with you! Been all over the world and in and out of Thailand since 1989, lived in Bangkok from ‘04 - ‘13. Went back to Texas for nine years and moved back to Bangkok two years ago. Wouldn’t want to live anywhere else. 🙏
My love for Thailand is endless. Thai people are so kind and friendly. Nowhere is perfect but Thailand is very close. I'm old but I would join the Thai army to protect it.
I made the decision a few years ago and bought some real estate in my favorite spot. It’s a no brainer. Thailand 🇹🇭 hands down the best place to spend time and money.
You're definitely correct. No country can match the dynamic of affordability, incredible food, sleek infrastructure and design (possibly the best in the world at this just because they think of everything and every mall, condo, coworking place, market, hotel, cafe etc is like an over the top experience in itself), nightlife, excitement, buzz, shopping, beautiful culture, stunning and varied landscape, friendliness, safety, ultra creative and driven expat community of Thailand. To be able to live in a luxury condo in Bangkok, arguably the most fun city in the World for only $500, get delicious meals for $1.50 etc. is unrivaled on Earth. I would even say Bangkok is worth MORE than living in London or NYC yet you pay way LESS for the lifestyle you get in Bangkok than what you pay in London or NYC. Then on top of that you have the entire Asian continent to enjoy for weekend getaways for cheap.
I think cost of living is one argument but this guy has a long list why Thailand is great. Of course Vietnam is cheaper but may lose out in other categories compared to Thailand. At least, I think that is the point of his video.

As a Thai. I am sure the Thai government is still trying to develop our infrastructure. For the last 10 years, the Thai government has built up developed and paved Thailand's road network throughout the country and Bangkok's administration has constructed more and more metro lines to reduce traffic jams and provide various commute routes. We have tried our best to build up for our convenience and we know we cannot compare to HK, South Korea, Japan and Singapore but we tried our best.

Have you spent much time in Vietnam? I find it has a lot of the same "pros" as Thailand. Generally it's even cheaper. It has good condos, although not as many as Thailand. Compared to Bangkok, transportation in the big cities (especially Saigon) is much faster because there are less cars, so the traffic does not get gridlocked as much-and for some reason, Grab drivers only take like 1 minute to arrive after you book them in Saigon. The visa situation is not as good as Thailand, but there are expats living on the 3-month e-visa, which you can basically do back-to-back unlimited times. VN has similar convenience with the 7-Elevens and Family Mart everywhere (they also have Circle K and GS25, two more similar chains). Personally I think they're both amazing countries, I've been going back and forth between them. But Vietnam has some hard-to-describe factor that makes me like it more, maybe just a bit of personal preference for the Vietnamese culture, language, music, and the people I've happened to meet there so far.

As a person who's lived in Thailand for over 22 years, most of these comments sound like people who are "living on the surface". If you go below the surface of Thailand (and any country for that matter), you will find MASSIVE problems. It's very easy to view this country through rose-colored glasses especially because it's so easy to live here day to day.
It's hard to try and project an unbiased image of the country. Just like any other country, Thailand has its pros and cons. It's a matter of which aspects of it is a deal breaker for you. It may be cost, style or food for that matter. So no one element is the same for all. Having said that my partner is from Texas, he said he was going to leave Thailand after 2 years. Since the day he stepped onto Suvarnabhumi Airport, it's been 10 years. Does he have things to moan? Sure. So do I. And I'm a Thai resident. But when you ask "Do you wanna go back?" a solid NO every time. Overall, it's happier to be here than going back to the USA. Freedom and the vibe is different. People are open. As an ex-hker (15 years) and Japan for 3 years and a Thailand lover (worked and vacationed there near two decades) I agree in parts. First on incomes a starter expat in HK makes 6000 usd a month. Someone who has been there 3 years will likely be making at least 10000 usd per month. My echo chamber was mostly close to 250 k usd pa. With housing in their packages. And transport in HK is far better. Thai infrastructure though it’s far better than even 5 years ago it’s still behind other Asian places. most tourists to HK lack adventure and won’t find the best beaches and trails. Then cost of living in Japan is a myth. Since the GFC for a tourist from the west or an expat resident Japan is probably 60 percent cheaper than that of the west. On government issues for an expat I’d put Japan as most welcoming, Thai second and HK way down a list of most countries let alone Thailand and Japan.

Built me a beachfront house in Vietnam nha trang in 2023.
How is the cost of living in Tokyo compared to other japanese cities like Osaka / Fukuoka ? Similar ?
Out of curiosity, where do you live now ?
@@magicfire1 I lived in Fukuoka for a year - similar to Tokyo in prices for eating socialising and about 5 percent cheaper for rent. I only visited Osaka in weekend from kyoto when i lived in kansai. Cheaper than Tokyo. I’m nomadic and I’m in Nz atm.
strong points man appreciate this comment
As a Thai. I am sure the Thai government is still trying to develop our infrastructures.
@@alexanderwindsor996 100% on that. Love the sky walks in bangkok. I hope they build a whole network of skywalk.
You don't need to wear a helmet unless your a Farang(foreigner), if your a foreigner you will be stopped every chance the police get just to extort you!!!
Solution: wear a helmet for your own protection. Only an idiot would not.
Thailand is better then any other country in Asia statement is clearly wrong to begin with, your claims of that are one person views and they are childish especially about no helmet couture and other of your mumbling. You clearly haven’t lived is rest of south east Asia mate.
Have u been around eastern Europe or south American farang hahaha
It's good you can laugh at your own jokes, because no one else will

Food in Vietnam is nowhere near as good
Way better in what aspect? Not food. Not condos. Not public transportation.
Thailand is the It Girl of Asia, Darling, and will be for a long time. Deal with it.
Whoever said this hasn’t been to Japan yet.
I have!! and I love Japan :)
@@itsalexbentley guess we have different taste then 🙂 Thailand is not even in my top 20. 🙂 To each his own then. 😉Im sure you’ve travelled a lot as well. I hope you feature more countries than Thailand in your vids.
@@xiannelove_ yasss!! interesting take. thanks for your feedback - maybe I can post some stuff about Japan!
@@itsalexbentley that will be great! For you to appreciate Japan, you need to visit the provinces more. Not just Osaka, Kyoto, Tokyo 🙂
@@xiannelove_ haha those are the exact places I've been!

Malaysia bought 100,000 tonnes of rice from Thailand in May, having paid 10% more after a fruitless negotiation prior, Reuters said. Thank you, Malaysia 😘
@VintageThaiLadyBoy we love indian and thai varieties. From india we prefer basmati and ponni rice.

Vietnam. The hyped place on the internet with a very low return rate of tourists

I’ve just spent 3 months in Thailand and 3 months in Vietnam. Not only is Vietnam approx 20% cheaper, the food is excellent and the people are just so kind.Thailand has become jaded by the overflowing tourists especially the Russians. The entire expat scene is just disgusting in Thailand. I will avoid Thailand in the future.
