Green and blue horizons from city to Forest scheme

An £800,000 investment in the New Forest brought thousands of people together to extend 50 nature networks that link National Park habitats to neighbouring towns and cities.
Over 100ha of habitat was improved, 200 events reached 9,500 people, and 19 jobs were created or retained amongst five partner organisations.
This film provides a summary of what was achieved.
The project was part-funded by the Government’s Green Recovery Challenge Fund which aimed to help kick-start environmental renewal whilst creating and retaining a range of jobs. The fund was developed by Defra and its Arm’s-Length Bodies and distributed and monitored by National Lottery Heritage Fund.
