- Yes...they are co-wives, married to one man...and they say, they are happily married. Meet the Wanjohi queens: Ruth and Catherine. Ruth is the first queen while Catherine came in 10 years later.
I sat down with them, they wore similar dresses....dresses that they had won during Catherine's dowry and guess what, It's Ruth who had carried the dowry price as she accompanied her husband to go marry Catherine as per the agikuyu traditions!
Here is a story of two co-wives who even have joint ventures like a youtube Channel!
The moral of this story for me personally is to make sure my girl child is empowered to make sure she will never be forced nto accepting a situation like this because she has no option.
