You should add client states/puppet countries. Then conflicts would be changed a lot because if the client states joining in on wars and skirmishes if you add those.

For the desert make it like the yellow team they loved the cold instead make it the love the desert because of all the sand hotness and the people are on board with it until it goes to far plus make capitals and major cities in the Nile making them good with their economy
During wars you could show major cities since countries would want to attack them.
We need big empires. Like on the scale of the Russian empire, and empires that last hundreds of years
The Brown country should become a dual monarchy like Austria-Hungary but with a Dutch crown and a Danish crown to create a Dutchia-Danary. You could also make a Holy Roman Empire thing, but with the irl Northern Italian & Austrian countries.

At later episodes you should have a layer where you draw major highways like how you have the trade routs right now.
You could also draw in sea boarders between countries. This could lead to some territorial disputes and maybe even some wars over islands or even fishing right on the waters.

Another suggestion maybe Japan gets come American colonies and some East Asian colonies and like the like team supposedly attacks a trade ship and they fight and somehow kamakazi because the Japanese have plot armor destroys the lime team and they sign a peace to divide the rest of the un colonized Asia but they remain eternal rivals
I think season 1 should end with like a nuclear war and season 2 can be a wasteland theme with the contaminated areas and the countries reemerging in the capital provinces.

We should have something like the reformation in real life where a religion splits into 2 rivaling halves. There could be a series of wars about the issue.

You should make claims on territory in the new world a slightly opaquer color than the country that claims it. And overlapping claims should be a mix of the civilizations two colors.

You should give names to the cities. For example the Purple Team in Italy Capital should be called Helios
It'd be hard to do so, but overall not a bad idea

What if a young red team man who goes to Ireland comes back with revolutionary ideas and essentially becomes Rospierre and launches a revolution and establishes a kinda like French directory system while another part of the country splits and remains a monarchy and like he starts wars to try and make the surrounding nations sister republics
