Keep Potted Trees From Blowing Over [Tree Nursery Winter Prep]

‪@WoodwardAcres‬ we have a few trees left that we will keep alive and sell in the spring at a discount. Between now and then we want to keep everything standing upright, in order to do that we use rebar and drive that through our pots into the ground. We have found that this helps very well when trying to keep our potted trees from blowing over at our small tree nursery.

Depending on the approach or direction of the wind coming at the plants, I wonder if you added some wooden posts to the outside of your fence line to disrupt the majority of the strong gusts, cutting the probability down substantially.

lining up cinderblock works too and you wont have to damage the roots

That's great if your plants are on top of soil, but mine are on a cement driveway and wood deck and I've tried everything ie. rocks at bottom of pot, bricks on top, cinder blocks around them, etc and nothing has prevented them from falling over.There must be something maybe similar to a three (four would be better) pronged umbrella stand or someone should make pots that are wider at the bottom than the top.....could be a million dollar idea.

Seriously. Pots falling over causes millions of plants to die each year. It's a genocide.
