I am very sure with darkrai that are 2 different places, because when you trigger the official event there's no ship and no man on the island, but with this glitch they are both on the island and that's not what it should be in the official event.
Yeah, it seems they went the Platinum route here, where even if you can get to Newmoon Island without triggering the event with the old house in Canalave, Darkrai isn't actually spawned in unless you actually go through the event proper. For those who might not get what that means exactly, let me try and explain more in-depth. You see, back in the original D/P, Darkrai being on Newmoon Island wasn't tied to any sort of requirement. It was always there, meaning if you could get to Newmoon Island, you could encounter it. However, this changed in Platinum. Darkrai's appearance on Newmoon Island was now tied to whether or not a specific flag that is set during the event was, well, set. You see, flags basically tell the game what code to execute and what things to make happen in the game, epending on whether they're "set" (whatever's tied to the flag will be carried out) or not (whatever's tied to the flag will not be carried out). For this context, the game looks at the flags for the Darkrai event and asks "is the necessary flag for the player to be able to encounter Darkrai on Newmoon Island set?" If the answer is "No", then the game doesn't spawn Darkrai on Newmoon Island, meaning even if the player, through the use of glitches, makes their way onto the island, Darkrai will be nowhere to be found. If the answer is "Yes", then the game will spawn Darkrai onto the island in the designated spot, allowing the player to encounter them.
@Wanna Be a Smurt Person Trying true but I really miss gambling in Pokémon, especially to get rare ones like Porygon and stuff. At least they replaced it with something usable and kinda nice, unlike in ORAS where it was just closed for no good reason.
There is a clear red flag that will clearly show up on your game if you have the cretria met to make Drakrai show up in the game on the island if you manage to get in even completely legally without hacking the game without waking up the kid from nightmare first. It was one of first things that Nintendo did when they were making the original pokemon games. They knew they would eventually completey forget about it, and I forgot what else they were saying about it. I found this information when I was really interested in finding out more about the game.
I still remember trying to do the original Darkrai glitch in Diamond back in 2007 where you had to do some biking trick in Jubilife city to get into some dark void area and then just endlessly travel til you reached Darkrai's island.
Correction: Darkrai was there in the Original Games The only mon to be hardcoded with Event Flags was Arceus and even he is obtainable, infinite times even

Even if you have the key there's a flag that has to be ticked for you to enter the inn and go to his island. It's possible on modded switches to use pkhex and enable that flag but until Nintendo releases this event non modded switch owners are out of luck. You also need to do cresselias event to do Darkrai event.
You are not doing it correctly, according to the game code, on how to get onto the island. That is the reason on why you are encountering an invisible barrier when you try to get the island this way. Even if you gathered the correct items to make him show up on the island this early, the game will not allow you actually fight Drakrai. I know what I am talking about. I spent more time than I would have liked to figure out exactly how to get Drakrai to appear on New Moon Island without getting the Membership Pass. Nintendo said that they buried the information about how to trigger Drakrai in the original games really well, and they were not joking. Apparently they also forgot that they put into the sailor on Canalave City thr information on how to get Drakrai in the Legend Arceus game they were still making behind the scenes of this game development. I was starting over again, and again when I realized that I was only misisng how to get the boy to wake up from the nightmare on the island. It is apparently tied to get Drakrai to show up on New Moon Island, which was why it took monger then expected to get the sailor to say it.
@@joshernsteen2066 Nintendo has to activate a flag on your save that allows you to interact with the door. This flag is visible if you edit your save with pkhex. I have Darkrai and completed that event after editing that flag. Also back in the day I used action replay to activate the events to be able to get Darkrai, Arceus and shaymin. It's not rocket science man they were just unreleased events.

Fun fact: Being able to get to New Moon Island, but not being able to get onto it, is literally the same scenario that the first person to discover the glitch in the original diamond/pearl had.

I think you need the required items to spawn the Pokemon, for example Shaymin appearing before Marley and Oak is just a 2D cutscene, which requires Oak's letter to trigger, but that doesn't spawn Shaymin directly. However, I believe that the Member's Card triggers the dialogue spoken to the son in the nightmare, which spawns Darkrai. Similarly, only triggering the Azure Flute can activate the spawn of Arceus. Proof: DPPt's Hall of Origin is actually a seperate location from the Spear Pillar without the Hall of Origin, using the Azure Flute teleports you from the Spear Pillar without the Hall of Origin to the Spear Pillar WITH the staircase to the Hall of Origin.
I already battled that sailor so I decided to try some things myself. So I discovered if you do the menu glitch on the bridge by the sailor that takes you to the islands back out until you can see the actual game in the background with the menu still up, then press plus to bring up the quick menu, then back out of the regular menu, leave the quick menu up, then start to surf while on the bridge, as soon as you get on the Pokémon’s back use the poke radar and it won’t let you and you should be able to surf through the ships. You will be stuck in there until you fight a Pokémon, I run away every time, then after the battle you will be able to go through the walls, I go to the left and then you can go through those trees to the left and walk to all the islands. I am still running version 1.1.1 so idk if this works for everyone who has updated. I still couldn’t find a way to actually set foot on the island
if they do actually release the arceus event with the azure flute you'll still probably not going to be able to get arceus because the area only appears after using the azure flute

How to get back from Newmoon Island: When you go to the island, remember where you entered from. After exploring, go back to that spot and go down until you go back to the glitched mountain, go to the left, and start walking. When you go back to the friendly rock, go slightly past it, keep it in sight, and go down until you're met with water. Go to the left and you're in Canalave City. Go counter clockwise until you're in a forest, and go to the right while still up top. There will be a strip of water you can surf on, and when you do you can fly through your Poketch. Newmoon Island will be on your map, but you can't go there
To me, this kinda implied shaymin may have been originally planned to be part of the original base copy of the game, whereas Darkrai and Cresselia may not

Here before this glitch is fixed 🤣 funny shaymin is present in the game but not darkrai??
I already battled that sailor so I decided to try some things myself. So I discovered if you do the menu glitch on the bridge by the sailor that takes you to the islands back out until you can see the actual game in the background with the menu still up, then press plus to bring up the quick menu, then back out of the regular menu, leave the quick menu up, then start to surf while on the bridge, as soon as you get on the Pokémon’s back use the poke radar and it won’t let you and you should be able to surf through the ships. You will be stuck in there until you fight a Pokémon, I run away every time, then after the battle you will be able to go through the walls, I go to the left and then you can go through those trees to the left and walk to all the islands.
I am still running version 1.1.1 so idk if this works for everyone who has updated.

Nope! You can only get one Shaymin, and it likely will take up the event shaymins encounter too if they ever release it.

When you go back to the friendly rock, go slightly past it, keep it in sight, and go down until you're met with water. Go to the left and you're in Canalave City. Go counter clockwise until you're in a forest, and go to the right while still up top. There will be a strip of water you can surf on, and when you do you can fly through your Poketch. Newmoon Island will be on your map, but you can't go there
