      Thomas Borgsmidt, Netrebko's off-key singing blights any performance she's part of. She used to be good at the outset of her career, but sadly that didn't last for long.

    Probably one of my favorite qualities of Hallstein’s voice was just how complete it was. No holes or seams anywhere in her singing. Even her lower/chest register, while not massive by any means, still had meat to it. You just don’t see that with the tin pot sopranos of today.

Ingeborg's Lakme aria with the G6 was sent to me by an opera fan and initially I dismissed it as I considered the Voice too THIN... later on I appreciated the enormous talent of Ingeborg which is Digital Tonality and Agility, notes so high no one before has sung and EXTREME Musicianship producing Ornaments and Variations of Uncanny metaphysical Beauty... people compare her to Sack and Robin, the two Circus Stratospheric Freaks, absolutely no correlation with Ingeborg

    Well, this is certainly the most elaborately embellished Una voce poco fa I've ever heard! And why not indeed, when the singer is the astonishing Ingeborg Hallstein. In addition to her amazingly easy and relaxed way with the fioritura, I love the warmth and lyricism with which she imbues the music. This is not a brittle, acidulated rendition a la Roberta Peters, but a sincere and charming portrayal of a young girl who perhaps wishes she were slightly more coquettish than she really is. Too bad there is no video to let us enjoy looking at her as well; not since Schwarzkopf have vocal perfection and great physical beauty been allied to such an extent in one singer.

    Solo menos de una cuarta parte de una cantante como Hallsteain seria excelente que existiera actualmente para que despliegue una solo una parte de la belleza y la perfección técnica vocal que ella poseía, principalmente para aquellos/as cantantes y críticos que son rabiosos ''puristas y expertos en canto rossiniano'' y consideran el arte de Hallstein como no adecuado o ''excesivo''. Acoto esta anécdota para el caso en cuestión: Rossini, si mal no recuerdo, solo hizo una vez un genial y aleccionador comentario a la joven Adelina Patti, que se le fue la mano en esta aria. Después de este llamado de atención por parte del compositor, un tiempo después, ella pidió consejo a al compositor de como debía encarar el aria (pero sin perder su estilo acrobático). En otro velada con el compositor al piano, Patti combino su arte con un gusto exquisito y una decoración mas moderada pero sin dejar de ser acrobática. Como buen hombre que era Rossini, felicito nuevamente a la joven diva ya que realmente sabia que estaba delante de una gran cantante que hacia justicia a sus obras.

    Referring to the prof's comment about the real La Stupenda, I'd say that Joan Sutherland is inscrutably true to style, with not a single ornamentation out of place, and phenomenal accuracy at the height of her technique. This is indeed superb, but it will take something beyond superb to knock JS into second place in my book.

      Peter Brodie some of Boynage’s ornamentation was pretty terrible. The ones that comes to mind First is the HORRIBLY gaudy added coloratura to Di Tale Amor that interrupts the entire cabaletta and makes it unlistenable

    • @francoaragosta4285
      @francoaragosta4285 4 года назад +6

      You're comparing sppls with ranges. Sutherland never had snytung remotely LIKE the astonihing TOP of his xquisite phenomenon. I loved Dame Joan, but she was NOT a true coloratura soprano. She was a dramatic o lyric-spinto soprano with extraordinary facility for fioratura. Not a bad thing, but Dame Joan could never sing higher than D over high C. Her Bell Song and her Queen of the Night had t be TRANSPOSED DOWN a step or two. These two great ladies can not properly be compared.

      +Jose Hill Of course, since Sutherland was a dramatic coloratura. Hallstein is a lyric one. Actually, she is an acuto sfogato coloratura soprano.

    At that time it was completely normal to perform translated versions of foreign operas. There is also a fabulous German version of "Una voce poco fa" that was sung by the great Erika Köth in a now legendary live broadcast of "Il Barbiere di Siviglia" from 1959 with Wunderlich, Prey and Hotter: ruclips.net/video/K9uFK_A37Ck/видео.html

    I don’t suppose this is the soprano that sang this aria to Rossini when he responded “Very nice aria. Who wrote it?”

    This is one of the only soprano renditions of this aria that works for me. She mostly avoids doing any ridiculous ornaments (she gets a little crazy at the end but we aren't talking Sills level insanity or Peters complete re-writing of everything) and the voice is fuller than the typical soprano Rosina so the character still maintains her maturity and natural charm instead of becoming a chirpy nuisance. Still prefer a Mezzo but this is quite nice.

      octavio Hernandez her “O Zittre Nicht” is wonderful, but her “Der Holle Rache” is too pretty to achieve the dramatic effect Mozart was looking for in that aria. However with everything that sing her technique is impeccable and coloratura is on point.

    Insoportable ornamentación. No basta con el rostro seductor para dar una Rosina. Hay muchas más
    adecuadas para servir este plato exquisito que cocinó Rossini...

      What do you think of Mady Mesple?

    • @aleandromeister
      @aleandromeister 6 лет назад +1

      Mi desaprobación es acerca de la ornamentación que despliega Ingeborg en este caso, por gratuita musical y dramáticamente. No contra la ornamentación como tal. A Mady tendré que reescucharla para opinar con fundamento, pero la mera acumulación de notas extremas desperdigadas en medio del canto me resulta un hueco ejercicio gimnástico que, a lo sumo, podría merecer un juicio acerca del potencial que su registro le permite y que tal vez pueda encontrar una mejor utilización en el futuro.

    • @aleandromeister
      @aleandromeister 6 лет назад

      He vuelto a escucharla, con placer. Su color de voz es perfecto para encarnar una Rosina veramente rossiniana. Su coloratura se despliega como variaciones sobre los temas ofrecidos por la partitura. Ingeborg lo hace por momentos, y no es poco mérito si se tiene en cuenta que la lengua en que canta carece de la musicalidad apropiada para lo que está cantando. Pero a cierta altura parece que se ha quedado con un stock de sonidos que no ha tenido oportunidad de exhibir, y los deja caer casi al azar. Entonces, molestan. Penoso.
