Phénoménale et totalement délirante Ingeborg Hallstein ! Quand une voix de laser et une technique vocale magique permettent tous les excès au service d'une musicalité fraîche, heureuse et merveilleuse : la vie est belle !
Thomas Borgsmidt, Netrebko's off-key singing blights any performance she's part of. She used to be good at the outset of her career, but sadly that didn't last for long.
Probably one of my favorite qualities of Hallstein’s voice was just how complete it was. No holes or seams anywhere in her singing. Even her lower/chest register, while not massive by any means, still had meat to it. You just don’t see that with the tin pot sopranos of today.
There isnt one performance, even past her prime, where she sounds forced. This is the closest to a songbird a human could ever achieve - it just comes out naturally, like she was born singing. Thank you Lohengrin
What can one say if you're honest, this is simply define singing.... even if it sung in German, in my humble opinion she literally makes you enjoy it, as far as I just heard I would enjoy her singing in any language. BRAVA!!!!!
I am the first person who posted Ingeborg on youtube more than 12 years ago... Im very proud of this... Ingeborg's Lakme aria with the G6 was sent to me by an opera fan and initially I dismissed it as I considered the Voice too THIN... later on I appreciated the enormous talent of Ingeborg which is Digital Tonality and Agility, notes so high no one before has sung and EXTREME Musicianship producing Ornaments and Variations of Uncanny metaphysical Beauty... people compare her to Sack and Robin, the two Circus Stratospheric Freaks, absolutely no correlation with Ingeborg
Very few singers ever came to this level of ease and effortlesness of vocal production. Arleen Auger comes to mind, Lily Pons and perhaps Luisa Tetrazzini. The extent to which this sounds like it's far too easy for her is astounding.
coloraturafan had posted it in his channel and in a live film performance, I wish I had downloaded it... Ach ich liebte for Ingeborg was like singing jingle bells...
She is getting 87 in may🙏 She stopped her “active” career because she got an offer for a very good professorship in Würzburg (and is still giving masterclasses, I think). I always loved this shimmering voice which even here in Germany was too “decorative” for some people😎 - too much topping, too less gateau 😂!
This is incredible! Shes literally a bird! Though, I was surprised that she sang in German. I shouldn't have been! Lol just used to hearing it in Italian.
Well, this is certainly the most elaborately embellished Una voce poco fa I've ever heard! And why not indeed, when the singer is the astonishing Ingeborg Hallstein. In addition to her amazingly easy and relaxed way with the fioritura, I love the warmth and lyricism with which she imbues the music. This is not a brittle, acidulated rendition a la Roberta Peters, but a sincere and charming portrayal of a young girl who perhaps wishes she were slightly more coquettish than she really is. Too bad there is no video to let us enjoy looking at her as well; not since Schwarzkopf have vocal perfection and great physical beauty been allied to such an extent in one singer.
I'd like to add today it's Elina Garanca who has vocal perfection and great physical beauty! :D Her "Una voce poco fa" without those ornament is as astonishing as Hallstein's coloratura and this pure (bell like) sound of her voice!
Another great one, O Lohengrin O! Referring to the prof's comment about the real La Stupenda, I'd say that Joan Sutherland is inscrutably true to style, with not a single ornamentation out of place, and phenomenal accuracy at the height of her technique. This is indeed superb, but it will take something beyond superb to knock JS into second place in my book.
Peter Brodie some of Boynage’s ornamentation was pretty terrible. The ones that comes to mind First is the HORRIBLY gaudy added coloratura to Di Tale Amor that interrupts the entire cabaletta and makes it unlistenable
You're comparing sppls with ranges. Sutherland never had snytung remotely LIKE the astonihing TOP of his xquisite phenomenon. I loved Dame Joan, but she was NOT a true coloratura soprano. She was a dramatic o lyric-spinto soprano with extraordinary facility for fioratura. Not a bad thing, but Dame Joan could never sing higher than D over high C. Her Bell Song and her Queen of the Night had t be TRANSPOSED DOWN a step or two. These two great ladies can not properly be compared.
Lohengrin O, your introduction says it all. What a superb rendition by Ingeborg. Just wonderful! Many thanks for this. In my opinion only Anna Moffo's version at the height of her career can compare. If you would like to hear an excellent mezzo-soprano perform this aria I would recommend Elīna Garanča.
I feel the same way about Moffo’s version. I’m in love with both singers. Moffo’s timbre alone is enough to captivate any listener. IH makes this sound unrealistically easy and this aria is by no means a walk in the park
Absolutely fabulous singing - Hallstein at her very best. But could it be possible at least to have a still picture in the video when she does Rosina? The present picture obviously is from a representation of Lakmé.
Not that I know of but it wasnt her specialty to sing middle-register roles (with occasional coloratura like Lucia), her specialty was the Stratosphere
@@LohengrinO yeah but I think that for an acuto sfogato soprano her middle register is very rich and good and she used sometimes a little chest in low notes. I don't know if this is correct.

This is one of the only soprano renditions of this aria that works for me. She mostly avoids doing any ridiculous ornaments (she gets a little crazy at the end but we aren't talking Sills level insanity or Peters complete re-writing of everything) and the voice is fuller than the typical soprano Rosina so the character still maintains her maturity and natural charm instead of becoming a chirpy nuisance. Still prefer a Mezzo but this is quite nice.
octavio Hernandez her “O Zittre Nicht” is wonderful, but her “Der Holle Rache” is too pretty to achieve the dramatic effect Mozart was looking for in that aria. However with everything that sing her technique is impeccable and coloratura is on point.

He vuelto a escucharla, con placer. Su color de voz es perfecto para encarnar una Rosina veramente rossiniana. Su coloratura se despliega como variaciones sobre los temas ofrecidos por la partitura.
