Illuminated: A Christmas Poem | Spoken Word Poetry

The Dalí Museum has a special place in my heart, and last night I was lucky enough to perform at their first open mic in partnership with @growhousetampa. I decided to pay homage to my favorite time of year with this Christmas poem, and I hope it gets across the point that even those of us living with depression are not exempt from experiencing joy. This season is the perfect example of how dark and light can coexist, and I felt inspired to showcase that by contrasting Christmas lights with the lights that were present during my darkest hours.
