Great playing man! I am playing this in the fall and was wondering what bass you played and if you even messed with an upright during the run. Also, did you use any pedals? Again, really solid playing:)
Hey thanks so much! It's a super fun show to play and there are a lot of opportunities to just jam. :-) I was playing a MIJ Fender Jaguar Bass into a MXR M87 compressor into a Markbass Minimark 802. That little amp surprisingly kicks ass! I didn't use an upright - for the couple songs that called for it, I switched off my bridge pickup, rolled the tone all the way down, and plucked above the neck to give it a rounder, more upright-y tone. It would have been cool to play an upright, but I have my hands full just with bass guitar! Plus the pit was incredibly tiny and there probably wouldn't have been room haha. The Jaguar is a pretty versatile bass IMO, so between switching pickup settings (bridge only for disco-style stuff, bridge + neck for ballads, neck only for upright stuff) and rolling on and off the tone, I felt like I had a fairly wide range of sounds by pretty much just plugging straight into the amp. There are a few spots where the music goes below low E, so if you are comfortable with a 5-string and have access to one, it would be nice to have, but not necessary. I just modified my lines to fit 4 string and it wasn't that bad. Thanks again for the kind words! Have fun in your show! :-)
Just out of curiosity, is there any way you could link your bass? I just wanna check it out, I really like the sound. I'm currently playing a fender jazz and am considering different options!
Jackson Sigmon Thanks again! Here is a link to the Jaguar Bass model I have (although mine is sunburst), but unfortunately they don't make it anymore. www.musiciansfriend.com/bass/fender-jaguar-electric-bass-guitar

Jackson Sigmon it's pretty much a Jazz bass with the option of running pickups in series/parallel or active/passive.
