I would definitely like to a John Pertwee list, this was a great video even if the Space Pirates didn’t quite make the top 10😂 really good video
Would love a third doctor video!
Magnificent analysis of each entry and an amazing video overall worth the wait for it. Thank you TJ
Those dominator impressions really made my day haha. Another great video would love to see another with the pertwee era
Absolutely fantastic video, very well written and concise, and honestly a great reminder of just how good the Second Doctor era is. Just a note the character who is being controlled by the Great Intelligence in The Abominable Snowmen is called Padmasambhava not Padmasalvazar. Other than that very well done.
I did butcher the name. But thank you for the comment and enjoying the video.
funniest thing about the underwater menace is that its still the best doctor who attempt at atlantis to date
I thoroughly enjoyed this during Covid lol Thanks! And my favourite is without a doubt The Mind Robber! It's a that they didn't delve into fantasy a bit more. Episode one is my favourite episode in the entire show because it is just superb Science Fiction & what a performance by Troughton. Moonbase a second.
An incredibly well written and epic ranking of the second Doctor era of the show "Doctor Who".
It was interesting for me to watch this as well. To me it comes across from a source of a higher passion for "Doctor Who" than what I have currently. As a person that isn't as into the programme as much as I once was, I would structure a list such as this so differently as I still love 1960s "Doctor Who" as my favourite era of the show because of the sheer conceptuality and daringness of it.
I would personally place "The Mind Robber" and "The Faceless Ones" much higher, neither do I think 3 of your top 5 would be in mine for the best second "Doctor" stories.
To me this list seems to be coming from a greater context of a massive passion of the show which is amazing to see. Thank you so much for this video, was absolutely fascinating in several ways.
As for a couple additional notes on stories here that I have;
"The Underwater Menace".
This to me, is what "The Dominators" is to you.
Completely agree that the reprise of the cliffhanger you mentioned is terrible.
I Have watched six of the surviving black and white episodes of the show "Callan" recently, I was not expecting Joseph Furst (Zaroff in "Menace") to be the villain in the pilot episode; "A Magnum for Schneider".
"Evil of the Daleks"
Personally prefer it to "Power". I do agree that is slows in the middle, but it allows for some great character work. The concept of the Daleks trying to discover what makes a Dalek what it is, and like-wise for a human is amazing.
"Fury from the Deep".
Personally would say that this my favourite "Doctor Who" story. As a person that is hugely into the supernatural, this has pretty much everything I like about that subject in an extremely well written form.

The acting and drama of seeds of death are exceptional. One of my favorites.
For me Seeds is by far the best 2nd Doctor story followed by War. I love the concept that the real life cutting edge technology of space rocket’s/vehicles is out dated, I adore the computer voice. Slar Alan Bennion and Sonney Caldinez would become an acting pairing moving on into the 3rd Doctor era with the Peladon stories. The concept of T Mat is genius and gives the Ice Warriors purpose in taking over the remote and confined Moon terminal and making their Earth conquest bridgehead. The instant travel is underused we could have had moments in different countries with identical T Mat terminals but it does cut a lot of duplicated space travel out. The disabling of T Mat also places various Earth countries and regions in peril without the addition of the fungus spores add on top of all that the reasonably robust Ice Warriors who are a little bulky and dim but they are no pushover. As you say we even gain a smidgin of sympathy for the Ice Warrior fleet who will meet a grizzly fate off screen being presumably boiled alive on their long, slow and agonising way to their inevitable demise. For me it’s a 10/10, I could listen to that computer reading the football results or telling me of widespread panic in Hamburg it is delightful in delivery and tone. Then we have Gia Kelly, undoubtedly easy on the eye yet she is the brains behind T Mat, in a real life era of sexual inequality she is the one everyone looks to, later in The Sea Devils we would have 3rd Officer Blythe who is very much a P.A and sandwich maker. Even Liz Shaw is referred to by no less than the Brigadier as someone to pass you your equipment and tell you how brilliant you are. Having Miss Kelly as a brave and efficient character flies in the face of companion scream queens which in Doctor Who are not uncommon. I find the pacing good, the whole story keeps the interest and we have various factions working separately and together, this can only happen with the T Mat plot device, having that under the control of the bad guys heightens the jeopardy and when it is off line the Moon base is very claustrophobic.
Incredible video tj! Apologies for the late comment. Very interesting ranking. I think my favourite story of his would be a mix between Fury and The Invasion. Sounds controversial but I actually prefer Abominable to Web but that’s just me!
I’m thankful it got animated. I really struggled the the recon/audio. It’s 100% underrated.
It’s crazy how Power is such a great story then the next two stories are mostly crap. Troughton is definitely an underrated Doctor who has a lot of great stories.

Really appreciate that. Videos and editing will only go up from here.
I agree but l think evil of should also be top tier
thank you
No problem James.
A much improved video over the Hartnell one. Glad you ditched the music and balanced the audio. I still feel you repeat yourself too much. As for your rankings, I generally agree with one notable exception: I don’t like the War Games. All that’s wrong with it is it drags, since 10 episodes is way too much. Had it been 6 or 7, even 8, I’d like it much more. I only ever remember the first 3 and the last 3 episodes. Still, I can understand people liking this mega story. You also rated The Dalek Masterplan very high, and I feel almost the same about that.
One thing I like about your opinions is that you don’t overrate missing stories/episodes, which is rife in the community. A great example is Tomb of the Cybermen, which was consistently rated in the top 3 Doctor Who stories of all time - often #1 - until it was found and people actually saw it. That’s not to say it’s bad, it’s just rare to see it top 3 now. I appreciate that you don’t fall into that trap.
My List:
1. Web of Fear
2. Evil of the Daleks
3. The Invasion
4. Power of the Daleks

TJ I am enjoying your content immensely .. Thank You for covering the classic area of Dr. Who.
Excellent video. 👍. Very well, put together 😮😮😊
the underwater menace dvd was one of the most disappointing releases for doctor who ever!
Indeed Dillon. The person who gave that release the green light is beyond me.
Also what's the song at the end called? Please I can't find it anywhere on the web
I want to know too
Doctor Who Trance
@@_TJProductions thank you so much
I really think 'War Games' would only have been great if it had been cut down by 3 or 4 episodes. Of course, then there might have been another "Pirates'-like story.... I prefer 'Tomb' and the two Great Intelligence episodes more than you, but to each their own.
Loved the analysis but the retro grainy jumping video images are distracting. I had to shut my eyes and just listen during these sections.
Today I have been mostly eating spuds
Scorchio 😊
I really liked most of the 2nd doctors stories I could never stand Jamie for some reason he over acted cheers Stephen 🍀🍀✌️👍
Video is far to long and convoluted
I know some might not like the format. That’s fair enough.
Being lectured at by Dr. Finkelstein from “Nightmare Before Christmas” 🥱
