John - we did want that question asked, and I felt like you were trying to help Trent out and dig him out of a ditch. In that moment I felt like you were wanting Trent to help himself.
Great job by asking and trying to help Dilfer by clarifying. I think you handled the situation perfect and with great poise. It is good to see people like you who care for the program. Never stop doing what you are doing!

What a great opening that John Did today. I sure hope this puts this to bed, and really nothing else comes out from it.
1. I have a lot of friends in the UAB community who go to all the Football, Basketball, and women's basketball games, plus the Monday night coaches show at BDub's, etc. and they were super upset. So I am hoping this all quiets down.
2. John that Patreon Interview with Jack from the uptown update was fantastic. Tulane had a super hard non-conference schedule losing super close games to top 25 ranked Kansas State and Oklahoma.
3. Obviously, the blazer faithful want to see a good and competitive game out of UAB. So hopefully we see a much better game Saturday.
4. That Steph Curry Under Armour UAB team Issued shirt Jimmy had on was Fire!! I have a huge collection of UAB team issued apparel for Basketball, Football, and General UAB Sports.
5. Thank you, guys, for what you do for UAB Sports. There is terrible coverage of UAB Sports in Birmingham excluding you guys and Steve Irvine. Excluding an occasional news story, but only usually when UAB does something great like make it into the NCAA tourney, etc.
6. Lastly, I appreciate your guy's friendship. I am lucky that John and Darion live pretty close to me and I see Darion at the Gym a fair bit and John at the Gym some and just around town or BVP events. I always try during Basketball season at half time to come see you guys in your seats.

John is MF OG!! Thanks dog! Disparaging comments about your employer/fans are unacceptable in any line of work. Any other university, especially with his record, would fire his ass. Really shows the athletic dept doesn't have our best interests at heart.
With his media experience, he damn well knows better. Doubling down on the disrespect by attacking John is little man sh!t. Trent knows this. John gave him a chance and Trent spit in his face. Initially, I was a fan, but now f*ck em! #FREEUAB #FIRERAYWATTS #FIREFUMBLES #DITCHDILF
If the athletic department pulls your credentials they will find out that the Blazer fans have not forgotten tactics that worked when the football program was shut down.
Thank you for a great explanation. I have a “history “question that I can’t find an answer for. WHY was Paul Bryant Jr so much against UAB? I see that he was instrumental in getting the program shut down, but nothing really explains why.
Also, 100% agree about a lack of identity. All good teams have tendencies because that is what makes them good. You know they are going to (fill in the blank) and they still do it.
Years ago, when Gene Bartow came to UAB and was speaking to a group about his plans for the athletic department. He said he wanted to start FB. Bear Sr. Was there and told Gene that “UAB will get FB over his dead body”. So the feud goes back decades.
So you are saying Bear Bryant did not want UAB to have football and years later Junior was so petty that he was instrumental in the shutting down of the football program at UAB. (That is DEFINITELY not general knowledge outside the UAB area). Did Bear Bryant not like Gene Bartow and feel threatened by the UAB athletic department?
You have nothing to explain. Your questions were legit and proper and professional. Dilfer's comments in the initial post-game press conference and his response to you were classless and unprofessional. He is a disgrace and should be gone yesterday. I also disagree with everyone. I love my grandchildren too but I don't bring them to work and let them interfere with my duties. His grandson should have never been on that stage with him. Furthermore he refuses to even look the reporters in the eye. I have no respect for him. I'm not and I told you so kind of guy but I told everybody that would listen he was a horrible higher and all he has done is proven me 100%. Make no apologies and continue to ask him the tough questions. If he's not man enough to handle it in a classy respectful manner then that's his problem. You're just doing your job and as far as I'm concerned you're doing it well and UAB is very lucky to have fans like you who want to help the program expand its presence in a positive manner. Thanks for everything you guys do.
