Thanks guys 🙏🏻
Thank you! Loved the soundtrack :)
Intro was super heavy. Thank you.
Holy MOLY that gets wonderfully nasty
Mission accomplished ⚡️⚡️
This is an adroitly executed demo. I really enjoyed how you kept the sequence basic and monotone, "hypnotic" to echo another's interpretation. I spontaneously underscored your sci-fi soundscape with improvised noisy bass stabs from my MS-10. Thanks for the jam session - sounded excellent! Kudos on maintaining a degree of inviting sparsity in STO's panel design and focus in its feature set. As a minimalist with a penchant for spaciousness, I could not consider it for my system otherwise. Shape control and semi-independent sub oscillator are neat tech. Rad.
What a killer patch! You're awesome, Walker. These videos keep getting better and better. One of my favorites so far. Love the call to action at the end :) I always feel like running to my system after watching one of these.
Thanks! So glad you are enjoying the videos ⚡️
Man that’s a great patch and you make it look so easy. Keeping it to a single oscillator like this is really impressive - it’s all about the modulation and the effects that really give it life.
Thanks for watching!! ⚡️
Yooooo! Super well done! Love how much you're getting out of the STO. Love the sounds. The sequenced modulation and LFO's are making amazing things happen.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it ⚡️
love the hypnotic yet in yer face sound. killer patch!
Damn!! This kicks butt. Always enjoy your vids. You have a way of expanding on the eternal possibilities.Big thank you.
Thanks for watching!
Indeed, a super patch. I never thought of patching the sub with the shaped sound before. It sounds huge. I remember someone saying 'one does not compose with just octaves' but you defintely proved it's cool to break that rule.
All the chorale-writing teachers are rolling in their graves.
One of the best vids you’ve done. Killer patch 👏
Glad you liked it!
That‘s such an inspiring patch, thanks!
So good. Love these inspiring videos
Glad you like them!
great patch , nice music !! big fun !
Thanks again Walker, yet another clear, helpful, inspiring walk-through
Thanks!
awesome patch!
Always inspiring, thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it! ⚡️
Great video! I love my ST0, i need to modulate the sub more often, this sounds great!
Super cool. Sounds deep and vibey. Love the use of sine wave to mod mimeophon. You guys rule.
Thanks!
Thanks for another awesomely inspiring video!
Thanks for watching Joey!
Absolutely love this patch. An inspiration!
Thanks!
Brilliant! Brilliant! Brilliant! Got to get me some of these modules...soon!
Thanks for watching!
Brilliant 🤘🤘 powerful and compellingly creatively complex! 💥🚀
Thank you Todd!! ⚡️⚡️
Epic. I was amped up to grab a DPO first but now I just want an STO. Great video. Very inspiring. Thank you Walker.
Thanks for watching! I think you'll enjoy either one ⚡️⚡️
I’ve got three, they kick ass
I clearly do not make enough use of my STO. I know what I’ll be doing later! Top video as always!
Mannnnn 🔥🔥🔥 this just gets me all the more excited for when I will get my 0ctrl shipped. I know it’s gonna be worth the wait ❤️
Great videos. STO is great. All MN modules are fantastic. Thank you!!
Thanks for watching!
Modular looks so fun. I wish I could afford to get some of these modules
A another wonderfull killer patch ! Very nice !!!!
⚡️⚡️
Awesome video! Definitely sells the STO.
Thanks for watching! ⚡️
Love these. Would be interesting to survey when listeners thought the 1 was on this loop. For me it was step 4 :)
Beautiful😄
Thanks!
This is a great example of getting a lot from so little! It’s funny how complex a patch can get with just one sound source and various modulation. I actually feel like I often get much more satisfaction making more with less like this as well.
This can definitely be a really satisfying way to patch! ⚡️ Thanks for watching
I find myself doing this a lot. I really love my STO and will add on in the future:)
Happy patching!
bravo. a lot of neat sections were developed there.
Thanks!
This Walker guy looks like a legitimate nice dude that also knows his shit, makes the whole learnin experience fun and enjoyable, always top work
Thank you! Glad you are enjoying the videos ⚡️⚡️
Very cool, inspiring patching! Would LOVE to see something similar with an 0-coast standing in (to the extent possible) for the 4 silver modules. Also, any chance the IG content can be shared on YT? (I refuse to support FB/IG)
We are probably going to do some "best of Instagram" compilations on the RUclips channel soon, so stay tuned!
Walker: Synth Ranger. Man, it is always so entertaining watching you create a patch. The STO is my favorite oscillator
Glad you are enjoying!!
pure 🔥
Blissful!
Thanks Edgar! ⚡️
The way my mind blew wide open when you brought in that sub. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.
When that sub-octave comes in (and your listening on good speakers) ... whoa
Nice 4 module patch! (well, plus 0-coast and XOH ;-) This really highlights something I've thought about lately with regards to modular, in that you can do so much with a limited set -- it really helps to have the means to break out a few modules to focus on and really get to know better... I think working with the STO in a larger system you often forget that you can get as much out of it as you can... On another note... this video makes me want to sell my René and get an 0coast 🙀
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed! Yes, it's fun to dive into a narrow part of the system every once in awhile.
Brutal
🎶
I have a hunch for a while and this patch just proves it: It doesn't matter how many sound sources you have, but how many modulation sources you can put into play
if Rocket From The Crypt could patch a modular synthesizer... it might sound like this.
That escalated quickly 💥
⚡️⚡️
Fuck yeah, thats what im talking about, awesome session!!
Thanks!! ⚡️
The sto and the uFold2 are my trusty go to for bass and leads
I was on the fence to sell the mimeophone but I feel i´m not done yet and still keep it. There is still some hidden places to go and explore in the world of sonics! I find the STO pairs also very well with the QPAS! Playing melodies with the STO (over a couple of octaves) and picking out harmonics with the QPAS (sending it to the Mimeo...) makes it a perfect pairing with some magic.
Periodic reminder that I want to give you my hard earned wages for that exact shirt.
What I would do is try to affect existing pitch with the remaining CV outs, assuming I could avoid interfering with the sequence.
Nice one Walker, sounds awesome inspirational and what would you do, you did…
Thanks!! Happy patching 🎶
I have a DIY VC band pass filter, STO can make sounds you probably couldn't imagine, even something like a guitar, organic or really rough, brutal.
Trusty single, yum.✌️
I dunno if you always did it and I just notice it now but it is really nice that you turn down the volume when Walker talks more and bring it back up when he does not. Its the small things, right? :) Great new vid!
Yes, I've always done it. It's essential for a pleasant listening experience! In patches like this one where the sound is always on (a drone) it tends to be more noticeable.
Ya forgot to self patch the STO for feedback FM!
Challenge accepted!
Waiting for the black and gold release…
Damn 🔥
That gritty sound is just 🤤
⚡️⚡️
What would you do? I would take a copy of the sub out into the linear FM input and make the STO a growly little BEAST! No 2nd osc required
I've been waiting for an Optomix and an XOH for half a year. When will it happen again?
Bruh didn't even patch the pitch. Too good hahah
I challenge Make Noise to create Maths 2.0. It's going to be like trying to make a Blade Runner sequel. It's possible, but it was REALLY hard ;-)
isn't the modern maths a maths 2.0 ? the old one didn't have the invert output i think and possibly other things, hard to tell looking at it, which was another improvement with the modern one. i like the lightning bolts, but the modern version is easier to get your head around
just add a warehouse and let's E.B.M. 🤘😖🤘 fucheen brill performance Walker MORE OF THIS... you know, i was out on the awesome Mu:Zines site yeasterday reading old music-tech rags about old synths and it's amazibg just how Spoiled we are with multiple OSC, ten-thousand wavetables.. fx modules.. twisted function boxes.. sample memory out the wazoo.. processor power where we can do digital dream-synths ... Real nice work with this "simple" efficient setup.
Thanks for watching!! Glad you enjoyed it ⚡️ Yes it's always a good idea to strip it down to basics every once in awhile :D
do you have that shirt available?
Sorry, that 0-CTRL shirt was a single print run (and the tan version was a Make Noise crew shirt)
Is it pronounced "zero-coast"? Finally we can put an end to this debate
yes and no. and oh. and zero.
holly s...
Very Cool but the other STO might be too much and muddy the sound.
It's good to know when to say when ...
@@MAKEN0ISEMUSIC for sure it important in all art forms and even in life
you'd want to be careful, for sure. or… … … throw caution to the wind??
Every OSC comes alive with modulation and you guys all use Maths. 😂
