For years I failed to understand the whole idea/dynamic/dance of push/pull in male/female relationships. Fast forward 30 years or so and I've got a lot more clarity on why people and I do what we do.
It seems to me that the most important thing to a woman is that I'm serious/sober, focused, and patient enough to endure through many of her trustworthyness tests. As poorly as I thought of myself this was not an easy task, but it was definitely necessary if I was to regain her interest bc like anything else interest on either side has a natural tendency to wax and wane depending on what is going on in their or your life. My strongest recommendation is to be as objectively observant as you can be as to how your particular love interest treats other people-- boys or men in particular.
If you find her worthy of the investment of more time listen to your heart, but do your best not to get overly invested too soon-- easier said than done by most males bc generally speaking women get a lot more needed love and/or attention from a woman she doesn't have to differentiate herself from.
That's where I could not agree more with the speaker about becoming the main character in your own life story.
It's the only way I know to capture the attention of the high value females every guy says he wants, but is unwilling to work for.
When you finally consider that it's this labor of love that all hetro men are really striving for what does it matter that you/I take the time to read and learn about boundaries in relationships and letting space and time do for us what all the dates and game- playing could not.

yup, i was straightforward with a girl at my workplace, asked her number and if she was single in a span of a few weeks of getting to know her. she gave me her number but never got around to meeting me in the halfway as i was always initiating conversation and had to keep said conversation going. it got to the point where she always avoided eye contact with me so i took it as disinterest.

I was stuck in a shitty toxic relationship for months because of the "You stop caring, she starts chasing" phenomenon.
Every single time I was done with the relationship, she'd magically want me and be willing to change, which ofcourse was never the case and always went back to her old ways after a week or so.
After 6 1/2 months I finally grew a pair and was done for good. Been almost 2 months since and I'm never going back to that.
Learned how to look at the relationship from a different perspective and recognize patterns and red-flags (there were A TON).
If you're stuck in a toxic relationship, man up and LEAVE.
No fallout from leaving the relationship is ever gonna be worse than your deteriorating mental health and emotional health from sticking to a decaying relationship.
For months I thought that leaving her was gonna be harder than staying in that relationship.
I was wrong. Both were hard, but 2 months later I realize that being emotionally abused and controlled for half a year was WAY harder than dealing with a breakup.

Don't overthink, throw logic out. Instead act based on your instincts and gut feeling. For example: you are having a conversation with a girl you like and all out of sudden you feel an urge to kiss her. In that case it's your subconscious mind telling you what to do and you should act on it. Your subconsciousness is aware of all the details like very subtle face expressions and based on that it knows if she wants or doesn't want to kiss you back even though in your head you are like "damn I really want to kiss her but she would probably reject me if I tried to". Another exaple would be: she is making you jealous on purpose and you feel like telling her not to do that because you don't like that kind of behaviour, hovewer your "logic" makes you think "I really wish she would stop doing that but I'll ignore it because I don't want to get into an argument and potentially lose her" which is very "beta" thing to do. You CAN'T be afraid of losing her. What kind of women would like to be in a relationship with men that is afraid of women? I hope my advice will help you. English isn't my first language but I hope you understand what I'm trying to say.

Actually started having feelings for a guy I would normally not become interested in beyond friendship because he was making effort and showing interest but then for some reason he started acting like he didn't care as much which made me chase at first because I was confused and wanted to figure out what was going on and why; but after a while I started to lose attraction for him and want to even cut ties completely even as friends because I was always feeling hurt and drained...so yeah, guys shouldn't be chasing in a way that allows them to be devalued, but they shouldn't be acting like they don't care much either

I'm not sure if he's been taking bad advice online or from family which is why I'm even giving him a chance to still be a part of my life (whether as a close friend or more potentially in future...but the latter part I'm not sure about now).
Since I've been hurt and disappointed too many times and him cycling back and forth now, I'm going to keep an emotional distance for a bit longer and observe how things go slowly while being open to other guys...and if he reverts back, I'll have to let go of even the idea of our friendship.

True. This depends on a few factors though. If she's very high level, you have to initiate some interest / investment from her part first for her to start chasing.

The push/push, hot/cold, does work on insecure women especially with attachment disorders. She will be acting out of anxiety and not her true desire for you. It is all about her anxiety if she only chases you when you pull away. The woman who chases you after you pull away isn’t going to be emotionally health enough for a longterm committed relationship. This won’t work on women with healthy attachments styles and self esteem. A stable secure future partner reciprocates what you contribute to the relationship. I’m an old woman and I was once the woman who chased when the man pulled away. I was immature, unstable and not ready to be in a relationship when I acted out of that anxiety. She reattached out of anxiety, emotion and yes vanity and it has little to actually do with you.

I’m also at the age when at least half of my friends are divorcing. Most of those divorces are women leaving because “they never loved him or “fell out of love”. Truth is they never were in love and settled early on for the game and not the man. If she doesn’t truly desire YOU and you only desire her...she will leave eventually.

this is always confusing to me. you need to care to a certain degree otherwise that gets you nowhere either. You need to care enough to still talk to them or reply to them, care enough to meet and give them some time.
