    Car Care Nut has new video showing poor design of 2010-15 Lexus RX HVAC unit in terms of repairability. You should do video series interviewing Japaneses auto companies regarding the importance of repairability in product design

      Maybe also the importance of making the design fool/childproof too.

      A foreign object was placed on top of dash and fell into the defroster vent on that RX causing the issue. I'm not justifying the bad design on that unit though. I own a 14 RX and love it!

    David - you are doing an exceptional job in exhibiting a passion for Japanese cars. Technically you sound better than any other vloggers, so please keep it up.
    Can also list all models of lexus/Toyota cars that are manufactured in the "Tahara" Plant and exported to the USA?

    Great information and video David. Can you comment on the workmanship coming out of the Hamura Toyota production facility. A lot of the 2024 Land Cruisers are being built out of that location.

    David, I distinctly remember when the 2001 IS300 came out that Lexus has a separate Anti-Aging team that looks at how interior parts wear and they try to match parts such that the wear is even across the surfaces such as in the interior. Does this Anti-Aging team exist any more?

    Excellent video it's hard to reconcile your presentation with the debris in the engine story. My LX has been really excellent and is not included in the recall. Hopefully, Toyota reads these forums. They must say more about what is going on, the decision not to is fueling speculation of poor design etc. Just tell the truth in detail soon Toyota, then make it right. Any other avenue is a mistake.

    I do not understand the use of "vegan leather" in such a quality production. That is ridiculous!!!! There is NO substitute for leather in a car. Lexus had better wake up! Enjoyed the video!

    • @marsarmory6236
      @marsarmory6236 26 дней назад

      They’ve been using it for years same with BmW, it’s just vinyl soft touch, super durable hence why it’s used on the dash panels where sunlight hits

    • @arnick2
      @arnick2 26 дней назад

      @@marsarmory6236 The problem is that its on the seating surfaces. If the "new vinyl" was just on the dash panels - no problem. But when they put it on the seats - its a ridiculous insult .

    Does the Tahara plant still wet sand all of their vehicles? They used to. I don't understand why TMC is so secretive about their paint/clear coat process. Is it still Nippon or Kansai paint?

    I think the vegan faux leather is actually better than real leather imo, it doesn’t crack or wear out over time. My base model gx has this and the seats still look brand new with 130k miles no cracks. My friends gx with real leather is cracked to shit. It holds up to sunlight and pets so much better. You’ll see minty first gen gx470’s with 250k that look perfect until you see the leather interior.

      I thought Tahara was for 4runners, Land Cruisers, and the Lexus equivalent to the Land Cruiser!! My 5th gen 4runner was built in Tahara, where you have to have a minimum of 25 years experience (master tradesman) to work there!! It's 8 years old and I haven't had to spend a dime on repairs, except for brakes!! Still have the original battery and it still tests good!! That's crazy lol!! Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦

    We all know this to be the Toyota/Lexus of the past, but what happened to the Toyota/Lexus of today? Not just Toyota, but to many manufacturers. It appears that r&d has taken a back seat in order to make lost money back from the pandemic. All these recalls is not the Toyota that we all know!

    Tesla could learn a lot from Toyota regarding fit and finish. Some of the SS panel fitment on the Cybertruck, especially the frunk area, looks poor.
