The love patti had for bert was heartwarming, how blessed we were to have them in our loungerooms every night, I was lucky enough to receive tickets from 3aw to the wizard of oz, and when bert first came on it brought me to tears, to actually to see him in person I will miss him, and patti thinking of you and your great loss

As great as Don was his show wouldn't have been as great if Bert hadn't been a part of it. He made the show especially when he dressed up convincingly in those outfits & performed his magic. It made us laugh till we cried & his buffoonery was just unforgettable. He & Don were wonderful together & this was when tv had shows worth watching instead of the nonsense on today. You haven't really left us Bert, you've just gone to visit Graham & Don to liven up the heavens but you will be missed anyway. Thanks for the memories.

I met him after he cut out of a side street without looking....I stopped with 1-2 inches to spare before the bullbar from our Farm 4x4 would have gone straight through his drivers side door at a 45 degree angle. We both shit ourselves. We stopped on St Georges Road, Toorak and had a chat. We both had a beginning in Scouts.....Am pretty sure he never mentioned anything to anyone. I never even told my parents who were huge Bert fans!

Bert was effectionately known to Australians as Moon Face back in the day as it was unusual at the time for someone to have a basically round face. These days it seems every man & his dog has a moon face, Bert was ahead of his time in many ways :).
