I got fit for the Qi10 ls 5 days ago and have been dreaming of it ever since. I hit 180 mph ball speed with ventus black 7-x shaft 😍. The blue face is awesome. Can’t wait to see how it does on my home course. Should be more accurate than my old driver (just stiff speeder shaft and epic sub zero) Great review. Love the “vs” content.
Been using a Callaway FT-9 for 15 years. Finally got fitted for a QI10 and it comes in next week! I went from 254 average carry to 293 +-13. I'm going from a regular shaft to x-stiff (Stopped ballooning shots". Avg ball speed was 174. The real winner for me was the dispersion on this driver was crazy compact!
Couldn’t really get along with the Stealth. I thought the Qi10 LS would be the same. I was wrong. Lower spin for me at 2300 vs 2650, better Smash factor. Slightly faster swing but not much. The key for me is the feel. The Stealth 2 / 2+ impact always felt a bit spongy. The Qi10 LS feels solid, acoustics wise the Qi10 LS has a slightly higher pitch at impact. Launch was a bit higher than I expected. Overall the Qi10 LS works for me. But is it enough to put in the bag? Well I happened to try the Cobra Darkspeed LS as well… sorry but that club ticked more boxes for me. I’m going back this weekend to do another test to see if I get the same results. This time 10 shots each, everything counts.
I've got a Sim2 Max. I would love to see a comparison, as I thought about getting a new driver this season, but I've got a feeling they aren't much better. The sim2 is just brilliant
Alex problem with you testing clubs is that you hit shots that most of us can only dream of?? 303 yards carry?? joking, get some one who hits a driver 240 yards that's more in our line. Seriously really enjoy your vlogs. (all that with a bad back).
I loop about 250 ish rounds a year the number of handicap players I get to watch hit it 300 carry I can count without taking my shoes off. It's a huge hit and he's doing it injured! Unreal
If it’s more consistent then my stealth plus then that’s a win for me. Few extra yards idc tbh. I want it to be more consistent if it comes off the heel or the toe. That’s what I look for in a driver
The problem is that YOU take equipment tests as if they actually mean anything! Nobody swings the same… so no matter what… you need to get fitted for you… as he says a couple of minutes in. 👍🏼
I really love the Stealth 2 driver and had the best year driving since my M1 face cracked. Figured the QI10 would be better but surprised to see higher ball speed and club head speed. Looks like 7-10 yards distance gains along with the huge accuracy improvements for you. Hope I hit the QI10 bad just so for the sake of saving money 🤑
Was you fully warmed up before using the stealth 2. ? You should have then gone back to the 2 because u gained a lot of club head speed on the LS. Was that natural, or was your swinging out your shoes ha ha. Good review.
I have an original Stealth and I play against a guy that has the Qi10 and two guys that have different versions of the stealth 2, and I score lower hit longer and more consistently in the fairway then any of them. There are very small differences and its more the player than it is the club and thats the truth.
Alex, maybe I missed it, were you using tm4 or io here? Just interested in impact. I find io much more reliable for gear effect indoors. Tm4 does good but needs a ton of light to get impact every time which is important. Looks dark in your space.
Excellent test. I think Taylormade has a winner this year with the Qi10 new lineup. Not so much the max model it’s about 15 yards behind everything else or more but the standard model and the LS look excellent. Love the channel 👍
It issue with carbon is where the crown meets the face. Over time i see this cracking as it did with the rogue st range. I honestly think this carbon age of drivers and the search for MOI and moving weight around is going to affect longevity. Will we see these floating around in 5 years time on the second hand market? I have a feeling not so much.
I'm upgrading from a R15 to the Qi10 so yes, it's a worthy upgrade for me. Better face technology for more distance and forgiveness is what I need but mostly distance is what I need since I have back issues that restrict me.
I tested the qi10 ls and had a similar group, not as far a hitter tho. but the qi10 core model a slight fade every shot with a 10 yard group at 280 yards, and yes it's going in my bag. It's stability feels ridiculous. I also loved the feel of the max but for me it was coming up 10 yards shorter
When the 2nd face of my Stealth 2 plus comes off, I'll switch to the QI. For now, I'm doing fine. Thanks for entertaining the masses Big Al! Need to see you and Matty together in a collaboration. Perhaps the PGA show?? HMMM??? HMMM?
I think that they Stealth 2 for you is better. Move the weight to the toe a bit and you can throw a blanket over all your shots. The QI10 MOI is not good for you... on the course you would have right and lefts misses which isn't good... but I get it that you can't give bad reviews.
I liked the sim max over the sim 2 and I’m currently in the stealth plus..but my Qi10 is ordered. Looking forward to swinging it and getting some numbers. The og stealth plus has been good hoping to love the new driver just as much the top line gone will take a minute to get used to though.
Guy swings new club 2 MPH faster, and is impressed the ball goes 6 yards farther. Yeesh. If you normalized the ball speed, the distance is identical because you hit the middle pretty well.

Might be a faff to do but - could you do a video of the qi10 vs the ls version but hit them both on the tee when you would on a round to see if you lose distance but hit more fairways. Because I wonder if the forgiveness (and more fairways) would be better than the distance (and less fairway if that’s the case) if that makes sense.

You’re walking in with a negative attitude wanting them to fail. How do you quantify something behind “600 better” when it’s down to the individual. For some it will be worth 1000s for others it will be worth nothing. Don’t take it so personally. If you don’t like it/want it, no one is forcing you to take it. Imagine an iPhone review with this mentality. “Still takes photos, calls and messages. it’s just the same” when clearly it’s not. Some people will see benefits from the new upgrades and others won’t. Alex love your videos but it’s funny you say no drivers will save you high toe when the high def comparisons of the recent “10k” drivers vs non is focused in on forgiving drivers not flexing on toe shots vs less forgivingt flexing. Taylor made is my favorite woods brand but if they’re going to put Qi10 on all three of their drivers maybe consider that reviewing even the “pro” model
QI10 looks better and performs better. Came from the Stealth 2+ to Qi10 LS. Absolutely love the Qi10 LS. According to Arccos i've hit 78% of fairways over the last 6 rounds that i have had the Qi10.
Going from SIM 2 MAX to Qi10 LS I've seen a 30 yard increase and my dispersion is noticeably better. I know that most new releases aren't going to give you noticeable gains off the tee but the Qi10 LS was a no brainer for my game.
Well that’s because you went from a higher launching higher spinner driver to lower launching lower spinning one. Im assuming that you can keep it play so congrats but someone who struggles with a lot of side spin a low spin driver will aggravate the issue
@@jameskeen3321 Absolutely agree. However, since my comment, the face on my Qi10 has already come off. Got it replaced, sold it, and picked up a TSR3 which has been more accurate and longer.

I prefer the Qi10 only because since the m2 the taylormade top line with the different colours / materials where the crown meats the face has always looked ugly as if the toe is in and the driver sits closed ! Glad that is now over
Thanks Al. Sorry if I missed the point but the differences look all very marginal. I am not concerned with looks it all about performance. What would be more interesting if you did a head to head with a five year old driver and 10 year old and show how big a difference there is.

Couldn’t disagree more. If the Driver is incredibly forgiving but looks like a boiled wart, I’ll take the less forgiving but better looking Driver in a heartbeat. A lot of golf is visual, so looking down at an appealing Driver is part of the confidence to swing it well.

For the Max, most are saying it is very forgiving, Finch’s team even said that it was noticeably better on forgiveness than previous carbon faced Drivers. For LS, this one is getting a bit of a hit as it’s even more low spinning than previous years which is a problem for keeping the ball in the air. And the standard model is a great in between model as it balances forgiveness with relative low spin. No one is expecting something insane, but are complimenting the forgiveness gains this year in 2/3 of the models.
@knightriderkitt3000 you're really buying into this every year is more forgiving BS? If you were a serious golfer you would know thus is purely marketing. And it works. In the end it's your swing and not the same driver from the previous year with some more carbon 😂
@@thealbinorhino8760 I’m not buying into any marketing. I’m just watching reviews by a variety of RUclipsrs and making an analysis based on what they said about a Driver. Not going on every new driver video and going “It’s the same Driver as last year, why buy the new one?”. You do realize that for them to make these claims, that there has to be a truth behind it because if not legal would have a field day. It’s been obvious for years that buying a driver every year probably won’t get you any massive gains. But for some, those small gains may be enough for them to shell out the money. If you don’t see any gains, don’t buy it. If you do and it’s enough of a change in what you’re looking for, go for it.
Theyre both ugly af. Qi10 and Both stealth versions and both sim drivers are terrible looking. Last good looking drivers taylormade produced imo were the M2 thru M6

For what its worth, I traded my SIM2 in because it broke and they sent me a stealth 2. I miss the SIM2 and wish I still had it.

I can’t have light when filming. Numbers have always been consistent and solid. All calculated at the end of the day

Do you think it matters that you hit the Qi10 after the stealth? Warmed up?
I did the test in reserve and got the same results. Even more spin with Stealth 2 on the other test: shorter but straight

Funny thing…I out drive my Taylor made stealth with my Hogan gs53 driver by 15-20 yards.. would be nice to compare with this new driver.

Intrestingly the sf, yet close to perfect is a hudreth less with the Qi10.
You were using QiLS which should be compared to stealth+ and stealth2+ as they are the low spin equivalents.

They claim it's stronger. The contact area with the face and head has been redesigned to absorb the shock better.

Not sure where you’re seeing that. LS maybe, but across most the QI and Max have been getting good reviews.
@@knightriderkitt3000 none of the reviews are saying it's this incredible and hugely improved driver. Everyone is saying it's a stealth 2 with some add ons
@@thealbinorhino8760 That’s not what I’ve gotten. For the Max, most are saying it is very forgiving, Finch’s team even said that it was noticeably better on forgiveness than previous carbon faced Drivers. For LS, this one is getting a bit of a hit as it’s even more low spinning than previous years which is a problem for keeping the ball in the air. And the standard model is a great in between model as it balances forgiveness with relative low spin. No one is expecting something insane, but are complimenting the forgiveness gains this year in 2/3 of the models.
@knightriderkitt3000 you're really buying into this every year is more forgiving BS? If you were a serious golfer you would know thus is purely marketing. And it works. In the end it's your swing and not the same driver from the previous year with some more carbon 😂
@@thealbinorhino8760 I’m not buying into any marketing. I’m just watching reviews by a variety of RUclipsrs and making an analysis based on what they said about a Driver. Not going on every new driver video and going “It’s the same Driver as last year, why buy the new one?”. You do realize that for them to make these claims, that there has to be a truth behind it because if not legal would have a field day. It’s been obvious for years that buying a driver every year probably won’t get you any massive gains. But for some, those small gains may be enough for them to shell out the money. If you don’t see any gains, don’t buy it. If you do and it’s enough of a change in what you’re looking for, go for it.

Theyre both ugly af. Qi10 and Both stealth versions and both sim drivers are terrible looking. Last good looking drivers taylormade produced imo were the M2 thru M6
