Love the videos! Future rad tech student here in Canada. Would you have any recommendations as to how to prepare in advance? I have 6 months before my program starts and I'm wondering if there are any online resources that might benefit me? Also, I see that you're using the Bontrager textbook which I will also be using in my first semester. Would you recommend I get it in advance and start reading on my own time? I would love to acquire a basis of knowledge beforehand so that it feels less like I'm being thrown to the lions lol
Hi brittney! Congratulations on your acceptance into a rad tech program Honestly. Honestly, I can say not to syke yourself out. It can be really intimidating to start a program like this. You can definitely get the book ahead of time but I honestly don't see that there is any real benefit to it because the programs are designed to work all of the classes together. Depending on what kind of college courses you've taken so far, you may not be too familiar with the different terminology and things like that. The book in the beginning teaches you about the different body planes and things like that which can be helpful so I would say if you want to get the book in advance to go for it but don't let yourself get overwhelmed by all of the information. These programs are designed to break it down for you! The best way to prepare in my opinion is to figure out a good organization strategy and make sure that you have a place for the information from each class and that you have a planner that works for you :)
So for someone looking to get into the program what would you say is the essentials each student needs for rad tech school? I’m trying to determine if I need a MacBook Pro and an iPad or just one of the other.
I think this comes down to personal preference. I don't have either. I'm not a fan of apple (don't come for me lol). I use a windows surface 3 laptop and it works perfect. It has a touchscreen so I can write on it if I need to. I would say that if Apple is your thing and you can justify it for school then by all means go for it but I really didn't find it necessary for my success so far.
I saw a PIMA logo! That's where I went. Which campus are you on? Oh, man...I am DIGGING your vid. Was that Skrillex you threw in during workout? Which energy powder was that? You should like to your stuff through Amazon Affiliates and make a little dough for referrals. Email me if you don't know how to set it up. Keep rocking it!
@@SydneyLyra thank for your reply... My name is shabik from India.. Also I am doing diploma program in radiology.. Can I come to your country for working as a rad tech...
@@waytonature2888 I honestly wouldn't know. I would think that you would still need to pass the exams here in the states. But I dont know if the ASRT would allow you to take the exam with the degree that you receive in India. That would be something to look into but I am not too sure.
Please leave questions here. I'd like to do a Q&A soon! Personal and rad tech questions welcome 🥰
