- Modesty has been lost sight of in today's society by the push in the early 60s from the women's liberation movement and with the invention of the mini skirt by Mary Quant. It was designed to liberate women's sexuality to that of men. God is calling us to a higher standard, not to be caught up in this whole fad of what the media portrays women to look like, but to embrace their natural beauty and the "inward man".
Lets us start a dress reform movement!

Can I just say the amount of views on this video , if it were a more Godly world, would be so much more. I loved this video. It reflected not necessarily what I think, but what I have come to know through Christ. I'm not perfect in modesty but everyday is a day to get better. Wow. Just so much truth spoken in this video, it gave me chills!

This video also made me think about how we would not dress provocatively around our biological brother, so why would we do so around all of our other brothers and sisters who is everyone God created? Bc we could make a sister jealous and insecure and set a bad example, and make a man lustful, and we know the Bible says even if a man looks upon a woman with lust, he has commited adultry in his heart.

You know what I wish would come back in style again is long denim skirts! Those were actually in style in the late 90's early 2000's. Even famous people on tv were wearing long denim skirts at one time. I so wish they will come back because there is nothing like a long denim skirt regardless of what is "IN" at the time, they are always beautiful. So for me, it's not what's in fashion, but Long denim skirts are always IN in my book!

Thank you my sister , I was just sewing a dress and the word modesty came to mind after seeing a video of 'sexy' fashion dresses I watched to see for patterns to sew the top of my dress and all i came across was 'miniskirt preaching ' so I found you video thank you. Before watching your video, I just posted my comment, minutes ago, on another video on the same topic. It's like you continued my own thoughts. And I'm glad they came from a christian woman.

You cannot decide the natural inclinations of those who look at you, but by your way of dressing you can guide their minds either for worse or for better.
Nowadays, many, to many christian women's clothing instead of covering their bodies, they discover more...
This is a fashion anomaly.
Few Christian women understand anything of the moral decay to which fashion has led men.
Few Christian women understand that the commandment, "Do not covet," is often broken by men, being encouraged, pushed, and dragged by women's unconscious clothing.
The fact that a man covets a woman in his heart and sins, does not excuse him for the fact that she is dressed sensually. But that woman is a partner with him and an accomplice to his sin, whether it is even unconscious or unintentional from her.
As a christian man, I notice and feel that there is almost no help from christian women in building our morals through the way they dress. It seems to be against us in this matter.
If the eyes of the beholder are drawn to parts of your body and not to your face, when he speaks to you, then it means that you are indecently dressed. You need to correct yourself.
But if the eyes of the beholder rest lightly on your face as he speaks to you, and he does not have to struggle to calm his gaze, then you can have peace that you have done all your duty, in regard to fashion. You will have peace, and we will be blessed to be able to admire you without being tempted.
From Adam to the present day, sensuality and indecency in women's fashion has been and is the strongest temptation for men, and this is the temptation by which Satan has achieved the greatest victories over God's people.
Please, dear christian women and sisters in Christ, behave and dress in such a way that you do not tempt us, but protect us from evil.
We are men subject to mistakes, but we do not want to be wrong.
Work with us for victory, and we will share with you the blessed reward of victory.
May the Lord my God greatly bless any truly christian woman.

Dressing modestly as an 8 year old did NOT save me being sexually assaulted for years by a Christian. I was 8! In fact no piece of clothing has ever kept me safe from sexual assault. Ask any sexual assault survivor.
Each person is his or her own keeper. As a woman I’m not a man’s keeper. Ever. Learn to keep yourself or the law keep you.
100% agree. I like to cover up but I would never suggest it is someone's fault and their clothing was the deciding factor. We are just hearing cases in the news about the sexual assault of NUNS!
The sexual assault within the Catholicism is being made known to the mass public. The people are sick of being silent. It’s been happening since the 8th century as well as intentional murder, historical fact.
We are individually responsible to respect others right to safety no matter their clothes.
Can’t we talk about deeper things? Are you loving? Do you live your truth? Jesus said, “You will know the truth and the truth will set you free”. Free! Not bondage to rules. He ate dinner with outsiders and spoke to people no one else would talk to. He doesn’t have rules about clothes.

Also so sorry to hear you have been sexually assaulted, it was indeed not your fault and no assaulter has any excuse. I hope you found peace in Jesus about that matter 😊
Altough I do think that sometimes (not every case, as yours by example) the clothing has a factor on it, some wicked men are more inclined to uncovered and others to covered. It is honesly sad how they accepted the devil into their heart.

vm Stefie - Thank you for saying your not sure how to approach this. I honor your honesty. Sometimes me either, at least we’re both speaking up with kindness.
Most of my life humans have told me what God wants from me. I no longer listen and go straight to the Creator. Not once has the Creator given me direction on clothes. Person divine connection trumps other humans advice. I dress for comfort and typically that also means I’m decently covered.
Let’s go deeper. Clothes are pieces that cover the skin/muscles suit that covers my soul. There’s more healing to be done for the soul. Let’s go to the soul!

It is really good because it made me think of how adults r really just fully-grown children and how our minds are just as easily influenced as that of children’s. I watch my little niece who is 18 mos and she does “monkey see/monkey do”, copying. We, as adults, are like this, too, but we are in denial of this. We r just as delicate and fragile spiritually and mentally as that little 18 mos old baby. We are precious children of the King. Would we expose our small kids to the filth around us if we saw it for the filth it is, and even if we do see it as that, why, then do we expose ourselves to it? Because it becomes a part of our culture dictated to us by the entertainment industry, even if we do not listen to secular music or watch secular movies, everyone around us is and, thus, they are being influenced and then parroting.

Hello and greetings in Jesus name, just a humble question as am seeking truth, concerning wearing high heel shoes, is it right to wear them as the Bible says in Matthew 23:12 that "And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted." When we look at High heels they do in a sense cause the person to become exalted or lifted up when worn and God said whoever exalts or lifts up one self will be abased. This I belive is not good for a Christian. What are your thoughts? Jesus bless you.

I'm so happy your video popped up on my youtube homepage! I was called to God and out of the world several years ago after living a worldly life with no knowledge of God. One of the things He made clearest to me in my conversion was that holiness is SO important to Him and it includes how we adorn ourselves (I stopped wearing make-up, perfume, jewelry, tank tops, pants, and clothing that was too tight, short, and/or low-cut). The practice of Modesty has NOTHING to do with men.
What a man thinks. A man's ability to control his lusts is NOT a woman's responsibility. When you say things like that you are helping to create rape culture. There are more women who are dressed modestly from head to toe who are still harrassed and raped every single day.
A woman dresses modestly for HERSELF. It is a living prayer. A way to concentrate her energies. To put forth an image of class and dignity. It's a way to show her faith. It is her chosen agreement with God. Whatever her reasons they are between herself and God alone. So please rethink what you put forth on social media.
And please stop saying that men are just visual creatures because IT'S NOT TRUE.

It doesn't say high heel shoes but think about. It can make you taller, is not good for your back & depending on what you're wearing can perk up/lift the buttocks.! Sure it might help your equilibrium trying to stay balanced BUTT- (exactly ! & There is the cluck-cluck noise that brings attention to the rhythm of your walking+The visual .

I feel compelled, given this vid popped up on my feed, to only add a little bit. It may be provoking to those who easily mix feelings with God’s word, used to do nothing more than mask old wounds. But it is a slight game changer.
Yes, overdressing in 1 Cor. is there. Showing of skin is not though. Big difference. Yet it is an ever so slight assumption in Christian, Western culture.
Revealing of skin actually has nothing to do with anything.
Keep with me. Remember, the first thing Satan wanted to do was bring shame upon and cover up the image of God.
One of the biggest lies in the church, regarding “modesty” is to bring shame upon God’s image.
This is easily reinforced by, “don’t cause your brother to stumble.” Yet, that is also taken out of context.
This really isn’t a full covering vs. full nudity issue. Remember, God told Isaiah to prophesy naked for three years. Not to mention Malachi, Jesus, Paul, Timothy, all were publicly nude at one point or another.
Sin comes from the heart. Plain and simple. Like mentioned in the video, what you expose yourself to, you become like.
Want to draw sexual attention? Doesn’t really matter how much or little you’re wearing. It’s coming out of the heart.
Want to preach the gospel at a nude beach with nothing on but righteousness? It’s not any kind of sin captured by the law, so Go for it.
Sin comes from the heart of one not dead to sin. By being alive to Christ, we love and obey his commands. Ankles and knees really have nothing to do with it.
Mnhklose, I think you're probably a troll, nevertheless I will point out two things. When the bible says Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden "we're names and not ashamed" this does not mean they were pure and holy and we should want to be like them. It means they were as clueless as babies and had a lot to learn. As soon as they are from The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil they became aware of their nakedness and made aprons to cover themselves. Which was a step in the right direction. Before God sent them out of Eden into the fallen world He made them clothes of animal skins to adequately cover them.
Even in Eden they realized they needed to be clothed. In this falls. World it is even more important.

I like the concept of video but I don’t agree with many points. 0:10 is already wrong for me. No, you can be modest and wear red, purple and pink. You know why? Cause there is not a universal modesty rule. It depends on the culture and on your own mindset
I respect your choice and I also wear covering clothes but not for Religious reasons. It's not really true though that mini skirts lead to harassment. In Egypt and India there are huge problems with sexual harassment and it's because many men disrespect women even if most women in these chantries dresses modestly.
Hanna Bard then it’s there own issues regardless men need to have self control as commanded by God but women need to also hold their own as well.
It's sad that the only people i see being modest are the elders.
I praise God for your modesty and example. I encourage you to deeply research and pray about 1 Corinthians 11:1-16 and the importance of head coverings. Hair is the glory of the woman and should be veiled according to the standards of God. God bless you!

Good message, even leaving aside the religious component. A rule of thumb is that if something was pushed in the 1960s it's bad for society. That certainly goes for immodesty and licence/promiscuity. Men ought to have self restraint regardless, but we don't live in the world of 'ought' nor will we ever. Therefore non-slutty, chaste/faithful, and modest behaviour on the part of women would be good things to promote if we want to see fewer rapes, fewer girls getting 'groomed' etc.
I just want to say no disrespect, but just because we don't live in a world of "ought" does not mean that women should have to worry about what they wear in order to not get raped. Just because someone wears something short doesn't mean they want sex, that may be the case for the girl in the video but that doesn't mean it is for everyone. There are tons of girls who dress modestly and still get raped. how about we start promoting to men that just because a women has a short dress is not an invitation unless she says that she wants to have sex and in my opinion that is what will prevent it. Also society was still not good before the 1960's it has nothing to do with how someone dress. There were large issues before that time, such as how we treat people. Segregation and everything.
I agree! and the fact that he says " but we live in a world of..." etc. is actually going against what the bible says about not being a part of the ways of the world and to be set a part. He is putting that weight on to victims when there should not be.
I personally feel like around 4 minutes that it's very disgusting view on clothing. They start off by saying that no one's boundaries should be broken no matter how they dress, which is correct yes. But instead of laying blame on the men, or just people in general, that SA, they go into why dressing modestly would avoid these situations. Everyone should want to dress how they want to dress, if you dress modestly because you like to, that's great and I respect that. But don't tell people, specifically women, that they have to dress modestly to avoid SA.
And in the end, they talk about how you can recognize a doctor and a firefighter by their uniform and ask what message we're sending out. I just don't agree again, because it's not like they dress like that all the time, when they're out of work they dress however they want to. And just because someone might dress un-modestly doesn't mean that they are looking for a sexual encounter. The reason that the mini skirt might have been made "to seduce" might just be because at the time it was a step in women's rights. They gained the right to their sexuality, and this now gives choices to women on how they can dress and be themselves. Ofc this doesn't mean that women HAVE to dress like this, but it was giving them the choice that was the break through
Idk, again I agree with a lot of the points and if dressing modestly is what you want to do then I completely support that. But I just feel like some of the points made here are to almost shame people who don't dress the same.
