The animated movie showed wolverine can beat hulk first the fight was fairly equal then hulk got the upper hand & smashed wolverine with a huge boulder then wolverine got up & said let's try that again then wolverine switched on his berserker rage & after that hulk couldn't touch him he was moving too fast & he was more deadly slicing hulk pressure points & rendered him helpless (could have easily killed hulk with decapitation) a beautiful showing for wolverine

3:42 I love how as Wolverine gains more layers throughout the years Sabertooth does as well. He’s starting to feel more like a cross between Bane & The Joker when written right. Twisted & sadistic but will more than certainly get his hands filthy.

When it comes to predators hunting opponents it really depends on how dangerous the opponent is. Like in the first one where it resorted to fist fighting Arnold because Arnold no longer had weapons. It can probably tell that the weapon x teams and mutants specifically are SUPER dangerous.
If you're implying Predators fight armed to the same level as their opponent then you wrong. They absolutely fight knowing they have the unfair weapon advantage

The one that ran up was probably a youngblood. The 5 was probably a part of a training group. The temples were where they the youngones were sent to get their first kills.
But wouldn't they be hunting Xenos though? Isn't that their tradition?
@@markmagician2471 Yes and no. Generally speaking no.
Xenos are very rarely the first choice for Predator "rite of passage" because they are seen as the Most difficult (and by obvious result) most honorable of kills. Youngblood training is meant to train upcoming predators. Not throw them into a slaughter that a vast majority are unequipped to handle. You don't take someone training for IT and immediately tell them to try and debug the Neural network for google. Thats just silly and you'll get nowhere beyond a very pissed off former employee.
*Killing* a Xenos as your first kill as a youngblood is seen as the highest of honors a person coming into the order of being a predator could get, but its extremely rare for obvious reasons. Even a well equipped Predator doesn't have the greatest of ease hunting Xenos. Why would a Young blood who knows nothing of the hunt, and nothing of honor know any better?
The comic hinted at it pretty well, that predators in the marvel universe seen humans as rodents or cattle, perfect to train their young on because they pose some threat, but not nearly enough that they'd risk losing the whole group. Of course, this is when Wolverine was still in weapon X. So mutants and the whole metahuman thing hasn't been established. So humans on the power ranking scale, still are about as difficult to kill as a rat.

Krakoa era wolverine would honestly be the closest thing in Marvel to a Xenos in comparison to a Predator. Otherwise logan would absolutely wipe the floor with a predator since he would otherwise heal way too fast in pre krakoa since his durability and healing ability was significantly faster then.
Now in Krakoa age, Logans healing speed is significantly slower, and his durability is shit. A predator against current logan without plot armor would be fairly even.
They also doesn't have their traditional symbol on the helmet so I agree with you
The Predator that charge both Logan and Marick after the explosion was a farily Young Blood Hunter and they do know how capable Logan is from their first encounter to each other and the way for that move to be a honorable attack was for it to be uncloaked as soon it started the charge
I've actually been telling my friends since Disney acquired Predator that I want to see a crossover comic like this. My idea, though, was always that Wolverine would come across the Predator in the alleys of New York. They would obviously fight, because comics, before realizing that the Predator isn't there for him. Predator is able to communicate his target through some kind of hologram or something, turns out he's there hunting Aliens that he tracked to the city. Wolverine quickly recruits a couple more bodies, I'm thinking Blade, Punisher, and Deadpool, and the five of them go hunting for Aliens through the back alleys and sewers of New York.

This would be absolutely awesome. Honestly you should send this to Ryan Reynalds, he can make it happen… Wolverine, Deadpool, Blade, Venom, Maybe even Morphous…. Or Colossus lol. Anyway, it’s an awesome idea.

Yautja is the ultimate predator. It's basically said that Xenomorphs are their favorite prey and have set up worlds that are very sparse with life as Xenohives. 1 comic goes over their raid party where they go to a xenohive world and kill everything there.
Yup, there is also a comic where they blow up a whole planet with 1 shot from there ship!!!
I believe a xenomorph is supposed to be the ultimate prey so I'd have to say the predator would be my choice as superior hunter
what i think is that the average xenomorph is probably stronger than the average predator, otherwise they wouldn't make such a big deal out of someone successfully slaying one.
now how the upper echelon of predators would stack up against a queen in singe combat can be debated, but you get the idea.
it's also sacrilege if one of theirs gets used and turned into a pred-alien and called an abomination.

I wouldn't call a standard xenomorph a hunter at all. It's more a gatherer. I mean you wouldn't consider an ant or a bee a hunter. Their existence is to bolster the hive
Wolverine still has to be careful once he has his adamantium because he'a facing a Predator that's just as old as him but hasn't forgotten any of it's experience. It now has a century of specialized tech development to specifically take him out.
When the Predators just want to clear hives of xenomorphs and not fight honorably, they carry burners that would just strip the flesh from Wolverine instantly

Predators don't abandon a hunt. They either fulfill it or die trying. If they abandoned it, they would be ousted from their society. So the Predator fighting Wolverine in the modern day is at the very least one of the reinforcements from the 60s, if not the original one from his feral days.
It has lost to Wolverine _multiple times_ and witnessed him getting a significant upgrade at the hands of Weapons+, so it knows that he's a very formidable foe. Leaving him alive is not an option, but it's not willing to die either. So it bides its time, observing him, training, planning, upgrading its arsenal, developing strategies, until it eventually feels ready to take him on, decades later.
Wolverine outmatches it in all physical respects, yes. But their honor system doesn't make them reckless or stupid. They will often set restrictions for themselves to make a hunt more challenging and gain more prestige for it, like fighting an unarmed person in hand to hand combat, because shooting them down would be far too trivial to even report on. But if your prey can shrug off all of your blades, puts your tactics to shame and even heals from a direct impact from a plasma caster within minutes, there is no need to artificially increase the difficulty. That's a prey no one will deny you recognition for, even if you used every single trick at your disposal. All bets are off.
I bet the predator took the opportunity to bond itself to the metal too. I'd even go further and say he found a way to make it hidden so that it only activates on command or in reaction to wolverine.
At least that's how I would write it.

There are 2 factions of Predators. One that hunts for sport, and ones that hunt for sport, but hunt with honor. The ones that just hunt for sport are also twice as tall as the ones we see in movies and are arguably twice as smart too. I don't my lore that well, but I can say for certain that these predators would glady hunt Weapon X. I mean, the Predators even hunted Batman! It's a comic called "Predators: Concrete Jungle". It's the Chef's kiss of Predator cross-over media.
I wonder if they would ever write Predator vs the black panther.
Unless the Predator took some adimantium and bonded it to himself, which is where I think this is going
With Wolverines sense of smell he shouldnt really have an issue taking them all out solo honestly.
I would say that pre-adamantium Wolverine would be better to fight a Predator. Adamantium is heavy so it does slow down Wolverine to where he's not as agile and it also suppresses his other abilities to a degree. So in exchange it's more difficult to kill him, because of how unbreakable adamantium is, it also makes it easier to fight him.
It doesn't slow wolverine down blade(you know the vampire hunter) said wolverine moves faster than him & blade uses flash steps(super speed)
@@tmiles15yeah he is, depending on the writer, but the adamantium does weigh a lot. If I remember it adds another 200 or so pounds. I genuinely wish marvel would give wolverine vibranium instead and he would get a massive upgrade
@Romo69 Vibranium is not an upgrade.. completely different purpose than adamantly. He's 200 lbs more, but his body adapts by being that much stronger to support the weight. Predators have tech to dismantle non-adamantium wolverine in less than a second. Healing factor be damned, Wolverine isn't growing a new head. Adamantly is far better, and it's not even close.
Marvel can make this happen. Alien and Predator are technically own by Disney now. Predator can be the reason why Wolverine escaped the Weapon X program. Rather than Romulus using Bucky. It would be the Predator keeping tabs on Wolverine so when he is at his prime that’s when the Predator strikes.

Disney will probably retcon Predator into a new "Girl Boss" character with magical superpowers and a Miss Universe tiara...

Plot twist, that last Predator also fused his skeleton with Adamantium, got used to it over the years and returns with a blade that is made out of the Muramasa metal if they square off in Japan.
That's why Wolverine prolly has to dip for a bit because he's just that heavily injured.
Maybe the predator had gained a healing since his race deal in gene splicing. Its just a theory though.

Realistically Wolverine with adamantium would wreck a Predator but for story purposes it'll be an even fight.

The Yautja consider the Xenomorph to be the ultimtae prey. Can pretty much find direct quotes for that in the various books and other comics over on DC.

I always perceived the predator mythos to how they hunt is they try and match whatever it is they are hunting, but it also just depends on young bloods, vs semi more experienced hunter. ex. prey - he worked up the food chain, he got the indian braves, he started to use weapons his bolt shooter, they shot the possum he shot him, they had spears he used his spear?. Predator, he watched, took out the big gun with his plasma caster, stealthed hawkins, fought 1v1 with billy, he did shoot off Creeds arm then ran up to impale him so incapacitating isn't really that far fetched. Arnold put up a fight with intricate traps and cunning. Had no weapon so they fought hand to hand after it was decided he was worthy. The predator comic with the infamous pirate Raphael Adolini. Was gonna fight the fair one until his crew was gonna mutiny and kill him so predator was like nah fam, that's mine jumped in and helped. Then after the dust settled they was gonna run the 1's before Adolini was fatality wounded by being shot in the back before they could fight.
The predators have to be blooded to use the plasma gun. That's why you see after the kills the first one and marks himself he puts the plasma Canon on
A bone claws Wolverine would crush the strongest of predators. I think people don't realize how formidable Logan is even without adamantium.
That's one of those questions like, "Astronauts or Cavemen." The question is always, "do they have weapons/technology?" Both species are intelligent, but one has a lot of tech. I'd go with Predator over Xenomorph assuming the Predator has all of their tech. Otherwise, the Xenomorph would likely win.
You could always cover cat and mouse rob, its the comic where sabertooth hunts down jubilee. It's pretty scary imo. And since its halloween soon. Figured it would fit.
The most interesting thing about the predator is that they evolve every time they fail so the next time maybe the predators will have a good healing factor almost like the wolverine's and probably better armors and weapons

They evolve tactics, I don't think they can just "evolve" a healing factor. If they could, I'm sure they would have by now.
Second possibility is that they might be too short sighted and rooted in tradtition to consider a healing factor necessary, and likely wouldn't apply one to themselves even if they could. Possibly seeing it as a weak hunters companesation for lack of skill, and a dishonorable way of achieving victory.
The Yautja respect martial prowess, but they respect the art of the kill more. If you're a good enough hunter, you shouldn't need a healing factor. At least, in their eyes. Your prey should be dead long before you need healing.

They could like how wolverine heals instantly or how his claws come out of his hands so they might take that for there next hunt. Even the older Yautja that don’t hunt will go watch the Youngbloods hunts just to make there hunting and society better!!!

It also depends on the faction of predators that they are encountering. The Predator that brought out the shield is like the predator that was in the movie prey. Those types were just out for sport and blood lust.

Rob, first of all you're doing a fantastic job! I've been a fan of your work for quite awhile. This is going to be a bit long winded. However I'm compelled to preface with a bit of backstory.
I'm sure I'm not the first to tell you, but I've been collecting comics since about 1975, also my dad had been collecting for a little bit as well. My collection is expansive and span decades, that's not to be boastful or hyperbolic. It is simply a fact.
With that out of the was I have to say your X-MEN knowledge is, in my opinion, unparalleled. You could teach a professorial level class on that alone. Kudos young man. Now that the platitudes are out of the way. I must say I love this take on the classic vs. Predator genre. I went thoroughly through your catalogue and was disappointed I couldn't find a Batman vs. Predator breakdown. Am I missing it? Also you may but probably not recall I recommended you give Alien Legion a look a long time ago. As a die hard fan of good writing ie. all of your favorite writers I'll stand by my recommendation.

Assuming this is taking place in main marvel continuity. No material, this universe, or other is more durable then Primary adamantium.
Unless the predator weapons just so happen to have the properties of Artic vibranium (spoiler, they dont) or have a toxic that can shut off Logans healing factor (clearly doesnt) then that obviously isn't true.
The comic likely draws from the main marvel universe era logan as its clear they are drawing from Krakoa logan. I. E logan can be killed by normal means and his durability isn't a worth a dry fart compared to what it used to be.
This is implied at because logan had to hide for well over an hour just for his shoulder to close up. Something pre krakoa logan would heal from in a moment or two.
If the predator loses the fight, he's going to take his own life anyway. Remember, they carry around portable nukes on their wrists, and when they lose they go scorched earth.

Predators do where body armor…. Just not full body armor like your thinking. They still where shin guards, wrist guards, obviously there mask, and shoulder guards!!!
It would be an interesting fight if the predator attacked feral wolverine immediately after escaping the facility.
In terms of Predator honor I think if the prey was wounded and incapacitated by your attack/trap then it would be honorable to finish off the kill as opposed to letting them recover. But if the prey just fell down a hill and twisted their ankle you'd probably let them heal up before resuming the hunt.
Pretty sure you have to apply the logic that it's up to each individual predator as they are not all the same. The only other caveat is that if they see you as prey your a dead man walking. As only those not viewed as prey seem to survive. Granted someone not viewed as prey can get that label changed.
I would say it's dishonorable if someone else interferes in the hunt. So maybe the Predator thought that the weapon X guys were interfering in his hunt for Logan, and that's why he let him go

@@Itachi17509 ah no! In the comics, there is one where a Predator fights a Pirate (not Luffy) and when the Pirate gets ambushed by enemies, the Yautja actively fought alonside him to find off the ambushers.
I think it does depend on the Predator, but honor seems to be the default trait. I like that.
the only thing I like atm as X-men atm is all over the place with no clear reading order, it's a breath of fresh air.

Hey Rob I been a fan since I first made a beat 11 years ago, but a thing to know about Yautja and Xenomorphs is that the Yautja actually used to hunt The Engineers from Prometheus as their right of passage until The Engineers created the Xenomorphs (The android in Alien Covenant just rediscovered them, the engineer ship in the first Alien movie predates the events of Covenant) The Yautja then saw Xenomorphs as their ultimate Hunt due to their “hive-mind” tactics, their inability to see Xenos without their bio-mask, and acidic blood. It usually only take 1-3 Yautja to take down a planet infested xeno-colony depending on their ranks. There is a Yautja I forgot his name but he solo’d an entire colony and killed the queen then became an Elder when he got back to his clan.
Boom, I’ve been waiting for this, what a phenomenal story line…

I always had trouble reconciling the whole "Xenomorphs are the perfect organism, yet Yautja are the pinnacle hunter species. It just never made a ton of sense. I can forgive it pretty easily, since it's one of the most badass franchises ever created, but still...

I think this would be a very good film adaptation, although I don't think it could handle five Predators alone - especially if they were in the Assassin category😅

The idea of a face hugger getting on logan and imprenating him is frightening. I mean we could just go the route that it couldnt. But if it could and he would naturally survive the process and then the bursting.

Something that doesn't sit right with me about Mavericks depiction here, why is he shown without his powers? I remember *originally* he had some form of precognition-esque powers...I guess they felt it was too OP or something and it got retconned into being Kinetic energy absorption...why did that blast damage him?
Idk I just get annoyed when I get the impression writers potentially aren't doing their homework just because "Y" character isn't crazy popular/well-known🙄 Not that the current Maverick is any less gimped, but still.
