As someone who’s been to WrestleMania (33) and witnessed these larger than life sets in person, the spectacle is amazing. However, as primarily a TV viewer, I’m of the opinion that less is more. Accentuating a wrestler’s entrance amongst a crowd of people, is much more memorable than a bunch of lasers, scaffolding and lcd screens. Gimme Warrior at WM 6, Bret Hart at WM 10, or Austin at WM 13 any day over what they’ve been doing the last 10~15 years.
Every year I wait to see Wrestlemania stages. It's my favorite thing about WWE. I really miss the good old times when we used to have different sets for each and every PPVs and Yes, I agree with you Adam, WM 33 set is the best
Best. List. Ever.... Nice one Adam! I miss all the different stages they had for the old PPVs in the late Attitude era.... Some awesome creative ideas back then... Even if they were all generally "Scaffold based", Best example is the giant, swinging hooks of the early 00's Backlash events. Sorry... Stage nerd stiffy activated.
I went too Wrestlemania 33 as well, my God seeing that stage was all inspiring! You had to see it in person to see the full scale of it! 33 will always be my favorite Wrestlemania, yes I’m bias since I was there, but that was one of the best nights of my life!
My favourite mania stages changes so much. Some days it’s the Florida Globe stage, some days it is the Alamo stage, and some days it is the Aztec stage. Everyday is different.
Does anyone know if we can suggest any topic for a Adam's top list in a specific place? I would really like to see a Top 10 (or 20) best title changes at WM (because WWE did one some days ago but it has many flaws.
I love Mania 10's set with the MSG short walk way. Just the giant X on the door and the yellow & black aesthetic makes it seem really timeless. Also, I really like Manias 4 and 5 with the massive yellow brick road to the ring.
Also, I remember that I have always had a fondness for WrestleMania 22's design. I always thought the net thing was a skyscraper, which made it so dope to me as a kid and hell even now. But the Big Time theme song for the show has to be one of the greatest WrestleMania themes ever. It made the show feel even bigger. The card was pretty hit or miss, but it's still my favorite WM of all time. That WM made sure I'd always love wrestling.
29 had a cool design. If you were watching on TV. In person, it got in the way when watching the matches. But Kanes intro at 20 made that one one of my favorites.
It’s not terrible, it’s alright. You know what you are getting. I think the show is kinda tainted by backstage politics and employees rights, etc. but I am usually entertained by the show. If you want a damn aweful show look to AEW Dynamite. Holy Crap, at least WWE has some kind of accountability in terms of fans. If anyone dares to say that angle was bad, or this angle was aweful then that person is the worse person on Earth. The reason people like it is because it is not WWE. They are right, they give talent free agency over their characters. It works out okay until a few of the talent become bigger that AEW and boom, the same back stage political issues happen and we have a 2001 WCW on our hands. Wrestling becomes worse for it and WWE buy AEW, Retire AEW and burn its legacy to the ground. Also, people like to say that when Vince “leaves” then HHH is going to take over, that might happen, but I think it will probably becomes a Fox property or at least a subsidiary of Disney. I think Fox is moving in to buy it when it goes on the market. There might even be a plan to change over eventually.
@@carterhazen9431 I mean the perception of the show. We should never judge a shows quality by the backstage problems. We should definitely talk about them, but it should never reflect on the work of the employees. Can backstage politics play a role in the quality? Of course, but they show is not bad because of bad backstage politics. It is “bad” because of terrible writing. Vince could put on a one man show that is fantastic, that doesn’t mean that the writing method is great, but they writing can be. Also as I said, WWE has its bad times, but we are not in a bad time. The show is fine right now. Can Vince’s determination to micromanage the show lead to a bad show? Of course, but it is not the reason for a bad show, or we would have to determine every show a bad show. Royal Rumble 2021 is almost universally adored. Royal Rumble 2019 and 2020 is also a lauded. They were all run by Vince. So, a premise that Vince is a bad booker is just wrong.
I’m quite partial - probably nostalgic - towards the XIX stage. The WrestleMania logo that has fireworks shooting out of it at the start. The separate stage for Limp Bizkit as if it’s the Other Stage to the wrestler’s Pyramid Stage. The sectioned LED lighting the wrestlers seem to magically appear from behind as if it’s a portal from their crazy world where they’re going to grace us with their presence in our dreary real world for a match. The aisle that BENDS halfway along so there’s a noticeable gap from a wrestler coming out to interfere in a match to when the crowd will actually see them. A brilliantly designed stage for the first WWE event inside of a baseball stadium.
Great list! I was expecting WM33 to be #1, and there it is! Love it, and I saw it live, and my god it was beautiful. I just looked at it most of the time lol.
I'd honestly swap WM 27 for WM 19. It's not giant and grand but that's why it's great, it's simplicity at it's best. The multiple screens for an entrance, the extra stage for special entrances like Trish's moment, the giant sign to the right and the curved ramp going down. If anything, it's a perfect blend of the grand direction WM stages were going in and the simplistic past they used to be.
Lawler vs Cole is truly an unforgettable Wrestlemania moment that will live forever. Wish it didn't though.

Every year I wait to see Wrestlemania stages. It's my favorite thing about WWE. I really miss the good old times when we used to have different sets for each and every PPVs and Yes, I agree with you Adam, WM 33 set is the best
💯💯💯
Love that he said nothing but everything with that zoom in on the Great Khali 😅
This needs an update cuz the set for WrestleMania 39 would easily be either 1 or 2
I Agree 💯 Last Year's Was Awesome Can't Wait To See This Year's WrestleMania XL Set.....
Best. List. Ever.... Nice one Adam!
I miss all the different stages they had for the old PPVs in the late Attitude era.... Some awesome creative ideas back then... Even if they were all generally "Scaffold based",
Best example is the giant, swinging hooks of the early 00's Backlash events.
Sorry... Stage nerd stiffy activated.
Wrestlemania 36 had the best stage ever!
Agreed
I went too Wrestlemania 33 as well, my God seeing that stage was all inspiring! You had to see it in person to see the full scale of it! 33 will always be my favorite Wrestlemania, yes I’m bias since I was there, but that was one of the best nights of my life!
Wrestlemania 28 is probably my favorite design. 33 and 22 are also awesome.
Wrestlemania 26? Aztec Pyramids? Wow I just learned something today.
I love you Adam!!!! So happy you’re back on the tube
I look back at 2020 as the year we couldve had the pirate ship stage
That 33 stage is definitely a sight to see, it’s so beautiful!
I know this was probably made before then, but wrestlemania 37 with the big ass pirate ship was cool as hell too!!
Mania 33's stage makes it feel like a wrestle kingdom for me, and that's a compliment. It's the LOOONNGG ramp for me... and I love that ramp
29 had a cool design. If you were watching on TV. In person, it got in the way when watching the matches. But Kanes intro at 20 made that one one of my favorites.
I absolutely LOVE the Mania 25 logo and stage. I’m so glad to see it get recognized. It might be my #1
I was at WM33 live. The set was amazing. Glad to see it #1!
WMXX deserves a mention I think, the NY skyline looked awesome and the screen in the background of the hard cam is a unique touch
WWE might be terrible nowadays but Vince has done an amazing job by selling wrestlemania as the biggest wrestling show ever.
@@leightonpearson1407 amen brother!
@@leightonpearson1407 "I think the show is kinda tainted by workers rights"
@@leightonpearson1407 perfectly put. Smarks are never happy, so they try to dissuade other casuals from having fun too.
I was there for 33 too! Absolutely agree it’s the best Mania set. The globe was an homage to Universal Studios, based in Florida
6:12 I dig that love for the Spanish hotels... I guess 😂😂
OMG I REQUESTED THIS ONE THANKS ADAM!!!
Great list! I was expecting WM33 to be #1, and there it is! Love it, and I saw it live, and my god it was beautiful. I just looked at it most of the time lol.
Yes I agree with adam about that colorful WM that arena was very nice
"It's a giant bridge. And I respect a giant Bridge."
Bonus point for 33, when we were up in the cheap seats we could also see the Disney fireworks during the Cena entrance.
