I have two motorcycles. One heavy and one light. I have always rode big bikes. I blew across an area that I've never had a problem with on my light bike and about s**t my pants at the tremor on a smaller bike. I got off the xway. I've watched videos talking about this but yours helped me. I knew it wasn't my skills. I just didn't realize how much it was not affecting my tires. Thank you. That changed my mind completely. That's exactly what I was looking to see. Thank you so much for filming both like this. Maybe I'll re-edit after I get my bike out and go across the grooves to tell you how it went. My knees aren't knocking now. Lol. Im so glad to find your video.

GREAT video! I'm somewhat of a noob and ride on a 2 mile stretch of grooved pavement to work every day. Watching the handlebars shimmy and shake in your video and watching the tire stay as cool as a cucumber really brought it home...it made me realize that I'm not really in as much "danger" as I thought I was...thanks 😎👍

THANK-YOU for your thorough explanation. The first time I experienced this I thought something was wrong with my motorcycle. Now I am calm in my concentration when riding on a surface with some sort of ripple or groove in it (and the occasional iron bridge deck). I have a small, light-weight motorcycle -- not fun to ride on these types of surfaces. I really find your videos helpful. Looking forward to watching more.

I hear your tune "I'm looking where I want to go!" whenever I practice my turns. This is a great video about how to ride on a grooved pavement. Keep up the good work!

Great video with great information. Taking my first highway drive on my Ninja 650 tomorrow and part of my commute is grooved. Even in my car I can feel the difference in the pavement vs grooves which sometimes makes me nervous. Thanks for this. Eases some nerves definitely.

The part that is not covered with grooved roads is when water lays in there and then freezes this becomes a major issue because it’s supposed to channel the water away as it lays when then it freezes the ice expands and comes up above the groove creating a treacherous roadway I’ve seen it and was almost in a pile up when we approached that bridge with grooves during the winter I got my vehicle slowed down from 60to40 and was able to steer around the carnage

Tire doesn’t move as much as the vertical centerline of the bike does. Hmm. Never thought about it that way before. But makes sense enough for me.

My first ever ride on the highway was on grooved pavement, at night. A bit unnerving to say the least.

Nope. My brain takes over, and I’m an absolute mess. None of these videos help. I keep telling myself to sell my beautiful bike, but I love riding too much. Just not on grooved pavement. 😖

Thank you for the video showing the bar & wheel movement. Still doesn't help the pucker factor in some situations.

What about when merging on interstate and you go from smooth pavement to and small incline but it run directly besides you. I have a slimmer front tire and don’t want it to pull the wheel.

Tires make a difference. tires are pretty good these days, but they still make a big difference on my older bike. Different brands and tread patterns will feel different on grooved roads and bridge grating.
Do something on railroad track grooves, are you familiar with those death traps?

Is that a shirtsleeve I see in the mirror? Not even a riding jacket?
