I loved the burglar encounter. He turned into a zombie, was knocked out be a peashooter, turned into a werewolf and then decided to rob your house. I admire that commitment.
imagine being a burglar and going to this big fancy house, but the moment you get there you get zombified by a ballistic pea plant, only to be resurrected straight after by the same plant
My favourite part was how the burglar went out of his way to walk back down so the peashooter could attack him even though he was almost in the house at that point.
Maybe "zombie" in fashion show context means not a literal zombie but a sim without free will so they would follow a fashion show script? I vaguely remember something from game files where it had this meaning, I can't even recall what it was but it makes more sense this way Also a small detail but zombies in ts2 don't lose all skill points, when they get resurrected they get -6 points in each skill, of course that often can go unnoticed if sim has less than 7 skill points but still it's a nice touch
I did wonder if it was a metaphorical thing because that would make more sense. It also occurred to me after I finished editing this that it could be referencing the Hula zombie though I think that's less likely. Oh yeah I should have emphasised they don't lost all their skill points, I wasn't sure of the exact number they lose (I actually thought it might be random,) so that part was a bit vague.
I just remember a crazy thing happening in my game. Once, a child in my playable family died to the cold (yes, the cold, because the game has a glitch where whenever a sim with a cold feels worse, instead of transforming the cold to pneumonia, the game just kills your sim. It’s not about the notification not letting you know a sim has pneumonia, like many people say, sims are actually dying to cold lol) and I had her father resurrect her with a genie lamp. She turned out OK, as children can’t be zombies…but her father had a memory of making a zombie and suddenly everybody and their mother had a want or fear to become a zombie. She’s not a zombie, but everyone considers her to be.
I didn't know about that cold glitch that is annoying. I've never had a Sim die to a cold before (well at least now without cheats,) somehow they always recovered but I did wonder why it never progressed into pneumonia either lol. I heard there were some mods that make the colds more deadly and figured it was just because it's really hard to get Sims to die from illness during normal gameplay. I wonder if the child zombie is a glitch they fixed or not, that is weird but I haven't tried resurrecting children with the lamp myself. 🤔 Did you age her up to see if she had zombie traits then? I'm guessing it probably only effected the memories and want/fears though.
Nice video! I always liked the zombies in TS2, and while I liked that in TS3 they were a danger, they were also way too prevalent in my opinion. I turned off the moon cycle because of how the zombies appeared too often, and I had to put fences where I didn't want them by design. I played the NRAAS zombie apocalypse mod paired with more dangerous zombies and weapon mods a few times, and that was amazing. As a Strangetown enthusiast I can only agree, the alien desert theme with crazy scientists, conspiracy nuts, military dads and other mean things is my jam.
Unless I'm playing a specific kind of supernatural world I always turn off the lunar cycle because the zombies kind of break immersion and are also pretty annoying when you're wandering around. There are a bunch of full moon related moodlets and wants that are cute/fun though even in regular worlds like wanting to kiss under a full moon. You can probably disable the zombies with mods but I've never really looked into that.
This was a fun vid, as someone who absolutely loves occults in the Sims franchise, I learned a lot of new things I didn't know before. Side note wish we had actual zombism in the Sims 4.
I remember being so terrified of zombies the first time i find them out on the sims 2,they're still pretty creepy, by the way I didn't know about teenagers remaining still zombies when going into college, bc I never tried it,so that's interesting lol
Yeah since zombies were added as the university occult type I think they wanted to incorporate that into the pack theme so they added the scholarship and let teen Sims be zombies so they could go to university.
It does seem a bit random, but they included a bunch of plants vs zombies stuff in the extra content + limited edition stuff. Then again the Sims has Cowplants so why not lol.
Supernatural lifestates were always fun to me in sims games, although I rarely ever messed with zombies since the ways to get them in game wasn't so obvious or at least very least, told to you in some way... besides the whole full moon thing in sims 3
@@CalipersandTongs nope, it had more. It was functional too. But here again, this was way after university I think "zombie" in this context might've just been an early codename for npcs
I cackled at "look thru cc", Jill falling down and the zombie disco, I've never had enough zombies for this to trigger! There's also this dancing Sunflower from store that makes zombies dance too, and a lamp that attracts and "hypnotises" them. And a funny story - once when playing in Shang Simla, I got invited to a party. It so happened that it was a full moon and at the gathering, among one of the many people sitting in the living room, one local on a couch just instantly changed her skin colour, facial features and all - she just became a zombie. She did nothing interesting though, just sat there until morning came. Thought I'd share though, shows how random the choice of characters actually is (and it's happened to me many times that the zombie spawned was actually a family friend lol)
Yeah I didn't even notice that Sim wasn't wearing trousers or anything until I was editing lol. I actually didn't plan on Jill falling over she just did so I decided to include it. I've had that happen before I think while I was playing since the game just turns random Sims into zombies. I also think one time I was going to invite my Sims friend round on a full moon but then noticed in the thumbnail they were a zombie and was like 'hmm perhaps later then.'
3:50 do you think the “fashion show” command just makes the sim switch outfits similar to if they would change into swimwear/pj’s? Maybe in the base game it was originally meant that a sim would switch into a zombie with the same animation as if they were changing clothes? Could be way off the mark here but that’s where my mind goes
Yeah that's possible too. Someone else in the comments also suggested it might not have been a literal zombie transformation but just a reference to a Sim without freewill being forced to follow a script, so there's lots of possibilities. I'm working on a Sims 2 game corruption video atm and one thing I noticed while messing around with mrs crumplebottom is she has a script interaction when boolprop is enabled that says '*redo outfit' in the pie menu, and thinking about it in regular gameplay she has control over people's outfits (which is what that pie option would have been testing but without the animations like with tom's clothing tester,) but I don't know whether she was planned for the basegame or not, but she's also existed since the Sims 1 (well technically that's not the same Sim but a relative, but same idea) so that's possible as well. I think it would have been funny but annoying if Mrs Crumplebottom turned your sims into zombies temporarily lol. Actually now that I think about it there are the Crumplebottom sisters from Moonlight Falls who are witches too... So it could work canonically for her to be a witch. Kind of funny I included them in this video I wasn't thinking about any of this at the time lol.
