Traditional Limestone Plasterings with Earth Natural Pigments from the Land

In July 2023 LWE Natural Building Team was working with our partners from @anandakalyani_ in the new hostel construction. We provided training for the project constructors on how to make traditional Limestone plasterings using local natural pigments from the earth. The constructors than finished the work we have started with great skills and perfection, and now it is looking great!
It is inspiring to bring the surrounding colors of nature into your living room, and all rooms and ceilings, merging the inside with the outside. The colors and textures are unique, and such techniques are precious to use and to keep alive, while honoring sustainability in construction.
Limestone is a whole world to discover, and also the art of natural plasterings. Now we prepare our next aventures and colective moments in this paradise, by the wonderfull Serra da Estrela.

Em Julho 2023 a LWE Natural Building Team esteve a trabalhar com os nossos parceiros da Ananda Kalyani no novo projeto de construção do hostel. Demos sessões de treino aos construtores do projeto sobre como fazer rebocos tradicionais de cal utilizando pigmentos naturais locais da terra. Os construtores conseguiram depois terminar os trabalhos que iniciámos com boa habilidade e perfeccionismo e os resultados ficaram notáveis!
É inspirador trazer as cores naturais envolventes para dentro da sala de estar, quartos e tectos, unindo o interior com o exterior. As cores e texturas revelam se únicas, e as técnicas são preciosas de utilizar e manter vivas, enquanto honramos a sustentabilidade na construção.
A Cal é todo um mundo para descobrir e também a arte dos rebocos naturais. Agora preparamos próximas aventuras e momentos coletivos neste paraíso no sopé da Serra da Estrela.
