I really enjoyed that video! My parents sold my 1991 with just over 100k miles a long time ago for $500. Now that I'm a grown man, I'd pay $5000 to have it back. Great little scoot around car. I once fit 9 people in mine going on a late night food run. I will say that I don't miss taking the top on and off, especially as clouds formed quickly above Haha!
@@american_document2626 this doesn't surprise me, they are often rust buckets. I recently got an 89 without a speck of rust. I wouldn't take $20,000 if someone offered it to me. The Tracker is so much fun, and so cool. I don't want anything else! Glad your friend found theirs, and I hope the same for you. Cheers! Best of luck
thank u so much omg like I looked at every single vid on the tracker and could not for the life of me figure out how to open the hood ( bc the hood latch isn't in a normal spot for a car ) so I looked through a lot of vids and this one was the best thanks
I was born in 1991 , when I was about 10 years old this was my dream truck not the next gen model , infact I used to tell my dad I want an "Old Tracker" . Now I'm 27 and I still love this truck , maybe I'll get one and restore it heavily . This one is perfect, for me it would be on black some Leds and boom . Great video
Born in 92, had the same feelings. I'm now dailying one and it is every bit what you expect it to be! I've done full restoration and modded the hell out of it it
...I have had one of these in my like (1990 and 1991 model years, always 5 speeds and manual hubs) in my like since 1991...and I have my second one (a '90) that I am getting cleaned up for my son to have as his first car...and I plan on getting it back for my daughter when she's ready to drive (as I figure my boy may have moved on by then)...and then I would like it back when they are both done with it...and then I will do a ground up on it (will be collecting parts until then)...these are one of the most underrated little 4x4's I've ever driven...I have owned quite a few vehicles since then...but I've always had a little soft spot for the originals...back in the day when I couldn't afford a Jeep...these things did the trick... ...now with all sorts of 'hop up' goodies etc. I really hope I get it back!...lol...
I've got a '94, manual rear wheel drive (sigh). I do highway driving quite regularly and generally keep the speedometer around 80-85 (it's about 3 MPH fast, so I'm actually going a tad slower). I live at about mile high altitudes. I get 22-33 MPG (usually around 28, 22 was very difficult to get. Haven't gotten over 30 in a while). I don't know what people are talking about, maxing at 55 mph. I was passing cars at 85 with another person in the passenger seat, plenty of luggage, and running the AC a couple of years ago. Fantastic vehicle.
Maybe the 2WD is different but the maxing out at 55 thing is 100% true. One time we took our '90 4WD on a 2 hour road trip to six flags and the whole time she was maxed out at 55-60. Thought the engine was going to fall out of it! lol Got us there and back though no problem, and although the car is long gone the fun memories remain. It was a great little car.
Over 21 years ago during the summer. I almost got one in Red with automatic transmission when I called the person. There was another buyer before me. So my mother made me change my mind. It had almost 90,000 miles on it. In the fall I gotten a 1998 Ford Contour instead.
I had this also back in 1992 worst part of the vehicle is to get it in 4x4 you have to get out & unlock the hubs on the front wheels. I had A/C & automatic transmission & my soft top had option to roll down & you not have to take it off fully.
Had one just like this...n miss it terribly! Sooo wish I could find another, like it!!?? I don't care what any critics say, til you own one,n, drive/ use it everyday, you have no appreciation for this vehicle!!!
This 1992 Geo Tracker if very clean. What I like about it the most is the way the rear seat fold up to reveal that protective cargo wall. I want one. Where can I get one like it?
Looks really nice as I have a 95 tracker. That tracker is nice until you lift the hood. Lol.. Time to scrub that engine to mach the rest of the tracker.🙂nice vid!
ALBERTO! How COOL to find one in this condition! I really use to love these Trackers. Very cool. Some had the white top which isn't practical but looked cool. How long to put the top back on? Love it love it love it!
I had 4 years of interest in getting one of these. Sold my WRX to get it if debt and went ahead on getting a tracker. It has a newer engine at 45k, new clutch, new shocks, new tires and rims, new transmission, new top... It's like a new car so I had to jump on it. The top took me less than 10 minutes to put back on. It will get easier when you do it once
@@iBertz I was just looking through Tracker videos and saw my 7 year old comment on this one. Never knew you asked a question. I should of got one 7 years ago when they were way cheaper! I was getting crappy MPG, plus I ran out of money to afford $220 loan payment + $140 insurance and like $180 in gas a month equals to $500 dollars just to own this car. I make part time income so the car was killing me. But other than that I loved it Now for my tracker I was paying $40 a month for insurance, no loan payments and about $90 of gas a month. That equaled to $130 a month to drive. I paid all the cash I had for it, but then I needed the cash I bought the car with to get out of all my debts. Now I'm debt free but been car less for a month now. Currently looking for a junky car

I like how this vehicle can convert into a truck. Awesome showing on this vehicle.
I love these 90's economy cars. They're fun to drive. Safe cars are boring to drive.
