  • Railfanning Lytton Area video 2 of 5
Canadian National Railway locomotives 2617 (C44-9W), and 5774 (EMD SD75I) power a long CN manifest train A417 (Edmonton Cloverbar, AB to Vancouver Thornton, BC) westbound through the Thompson Canyon near Lytton, BC hauling over 100 cars of mixed freight.
Great location, but you won't see any eastbounds here as CN and CP use directional running meaning only westbound trains only can be viewed at this location.
Filmed at 4:23pm, Thursday June 9, 2016 at Skithist Provincial Park (about mile 93 of the CN Ashcroft Subdivision).

Did your friend tell what the poles were for? Thy hold wire netting yo catch the rocks theat could fall and hit the trains. you probably saw them on the highway as you were driving up to Lytton. thanks for the video.
