Your comments about the road trip got me feeling nostalgic! A few years back I had a dream of driving a last gen T-Tops Trans Am on PCH. I grew up in the midwest and had never seen the Pacific, but it sounded like the greatest drive of my life. I had just taken a job in Utah, and my last summer there I found a 2002 Trans Am Firehawk with a 6-speed, black w/custom painted gold stripes in immaculate condition, and bought it a week later. My wife and I drove it from SLC to SF, down the coast to Big Sur, inland to check out the Giant Sequoias, and back to the coast down to Santa Barbara, Malibu and Hollywood/LA where we shopped, checked out iconic sites(the F&F house!) and hung out for a few days. We finished out with stops in 3 of Utah's epic national parks, and after nearly 2 weeks of fun we made it home. It was over 3,000 miles of gorgeous skylines, breathtaking cliffs and gigantic forests, and I will remember it as the greatest drive of my life.

I never once watched one of your videos before this C8 series started but have REALLY ENJOYED them. I don't have the kind of money to go out and buy all the cars you can , so buying the stingray was not an option when I want Z06. For me it dosent make sense to buy a $90,000+- car for a couple years then loose money on reselling it when I get what I want, but I sure do wish I could. The more I see of this car the more I love it . I've had 13 Vetts every model except the C7 so to go from a C6 to a C8 Z06 will be the biggest jump in on road hp I've experienced . Keep the C8 stuff coming cause all I can do for now is live vicariously though you RUclipsrs til what I want is available.

Flew to Oregon from SoCaL with my boy to buy a 1969 Chevy Camaro that had a Corvette motor. We were in our early 20's and when we landed, the first thing I said to him was, "what if you dont end up buying it!?" Lol we didnt even think about that until we landed 😂. He ended up paying $10k cash, we drove it all the way home from Oregon. So many cars pulled up wanting to race and by the time we got home, it was leaking from the spirited driving 😉
Highly recommend road trips, especially in cool cars. Great vid brought back good times 😁

Last october, I drove 26 hours from ohio to Utah, met up with my buddy and drove another 10 hours to California for subiefest, in total 36 hours there, 36 back.
Two weeks ago, I drove 5 hours to buy my dream car, and back another 5, and those are the memories I'll hold onto forever.

Saw my first glimpse of a trailer of c8 vettes and it made my entire day. Gave me goose bumps. I couldnt afford one of these even if they gave me one at half manufacturers cost but I sure do love em none the less. Congrats on making it home safe and check engine light free.
I took a road trip from Chicago to Dillion Colorado, spent a few days there then drove to St. George Utah for a truck show. And drove 30hrs straight to get home. This trip was a week long oh and did I mention I did it all by my self and made the decision to leave a week before. You only live once and if you can afford it then just do it and make stops along the way. Inhave taken many many road trips over the years for truck shows and work and I don't regret a single one. The trip to Colorado & Utah was absolutely amazing. Hopefully I'll be taking the trip again this year as well.

Your epilogue about the road trip is so true. When I have had to make long trips in the past its easy to just tough out the driving hours to get back to life. But I have found its a better time to take a few days away from life. Make some memories. Visit Nashville. Tour the Corvette museum. You will never remember paying the mortgage on time but you will remember eating at that amazing Italian place in some city you have never be to before. Good take away. Love the new car. that's why I said with the video I posted today. Imagine just being TJ and getting a call that his C8 is here, cancelling out his whole work week to fly to a different state, and drive it across america. Probably one of the most enjoyable series i've watched from you!
You are not going to get flamed for comparing the looks to the McLaren 720. Everyone sees similarities. It’s the same mid-engine layout formula shared by McLaren, Ferrari, now Corvette, and others. That layout naturally lends itself to the same proportions, and afterwards, all that leaves are the design cues, which are all currently similar in that popular curvy look. The difference in price and prestige/obtain-ability will always keep the exotics in their own space, but the Corvette brings that form and functionality down to a new price point. It’s a fundamental shift that is new for the Corvette, but it will quickly become comfortable and even expected going forward. I have a 2019 Z06, and even with the power difference, I’m jelly of the new C8 owners. Here it is in week one of the base Corvette hitting the road, and I can’t wait for the C8 Z06 to come out next year...

I'm happy for you having to be fortunate enough to be one of the first to take delivery of your new Vette'. At 4:48, I'm sorry you felt that way about the stock wheels, @Tj Hunt. I for one surely loved almost all of them Chevy is currently offering on this(especially those you have there in black with polished rim, except the all light gray and probably the pewter versions) and if I finally order one, I would surely get it with those and either get a second set of them or go aftermarket for a second set of a different design and get a compatable set of winter or all-season rubber.

I felt this episode in my soul TJ, I've never had remotely even a half ass dream car but it looks like I'm soon going to change that, I found a 06 Mustang GT and i know that's not saying much but I've always wanted a V8 mustang and I'm hoping itll be a start to a new future because i plan to do A LOT to it, I've got the rims picked out and the stance i want, exhaust, intake and much more. You guys and even Throtl are most of my inspiration bro. Roadtrips are the best! My brother and I did a Montana to Maryland and a Washington state to Georgia road trip, so many good memories and despite the miles I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Tip Maguire's ceramic. Very first application spray and use cloth to rub in and cover surface. Then rinse. They spray car and rinse. This technique will make product perform much better.

When I bought my first car (wrx) I rented a car one way and drove from Northeast Indiana to Kansas City to get it. I will never forget that drive back, I learned how to drive stick on it. That was almost three years ago and I still look back on it all the time.

A tip from a Northeasterner/Pittsburgher:
Definitely try to get the entire undercarriage washed/sprayed off. We wouldn't normally worry about doing that up here because we're so used to the salty roads in the winter. A lot of cars up here have terrible undersides, coated in rust all because of that salt. I'm assuming the C8 will be staying in Cal. for the most part, so that undercarriage clean will definitely help prevent any potential problems.

We road trip constantly. Often to destinations (eg Winnsboro to Tyler Aviation Museum). Some I advertise. That way I cruise with a small group. You decided to have destinations too. Vette museum, Dallas friends... Thats how you do it! Glad you had fun!!!
Buddy of mine bought an old Bronco 2 in Idaho and we drove it back to Pennsylvania. Went down threw Nevada and Arizona then across New Mexico and Texas then up towards PA. Was the best damn experience of my life.

TJ I just wanted to say thank you for allowing all of us to live vicariously through Calvin and you during this amazing road trip. I wasn’t excited about the C8 until I started watching from the moment you picked up the c8 until the end. Now I am wondering when Chevy will come out with another Grand Sport in the C8 so I can upgrade from my ‘17 Grand Sport. In the meantime keep enjoying your new C8 and keep posting vids about it. Can’t wait to catch a glimpse of it while you travel around 619... 🤙
When I bought my first Corvette, I flew to San Diego and drove it cross country BACK to Pittsburgh...lol. I moved to Vegas now though...no more salt/pothole/rust/hell. I always say....me and TJ's ride is so similar. I grew my shops, then partnered to form a motorsport company...I had a yellow Lambo Diablo, 2 Ferrari's, then got Corvettes. TJ has a tad more cashflow than I did, but I was rollin pretty solid. Deal was, I built my way up, multiple shops and cars, all based upon building Honda's for 10yrs...forced induction systems and tuning.

So, when I first saw the prototype C8 I didn't like the front end. I thought it was too thick or tall, and thought the nose should be closer to the ground. I liked everything else, and got to see the display at Barrett Jackson. However, watching all of your C8 content has done nothing but make me smile. I'm diggin the C8 now. It was definitely cool to see you and Calvin receive it, and drive it across country. It was also cool to see you stop in to see the Chevy Dude (Dog). I'm looking forward to future C8 content, and I think you're doing great things with your channel and in your life. KMF
