Hey KYOSHO! The NitroGang is here, and I want to say I am happy the Nitro Truck Segment is back! Also if you feel you can send me one for review that would be terrific!
I have had this truck for over one year. Here is my brief review: It's AWESOME. It's my favorite nitro truck ever. I have used this truck more often than any other truck in my 30 years of nitro rc. BUT.... Kyosho MUST fix the 3-speed transmission. The gears are too cheap, and they start wearing down immediately on the insides. The shift mechanisms start to wear down the insides of the gears causing all kinds of tiny pieces of plastic to be thrown around inside the transmission. These pieces of plastic get inside the shift cams, and everything else. This introduces shifting problems, as the shift cams get jammed by the plastic pieces. Eventually, the gears on the inside breakdown and you can no longer shift into the next year. I had to switch these 3-speed gears to the 3-speed steel gears from a company called GTB Racing based in China. With the steel gears, along with GTB Racing's steel clutch, my USA-1 transmission is now indestructible. Kyosho really needs to do something about this transmission. The three-speed is awesome, but with those cheap plastic gears wearing out so easily, that's a HUGE problem. This USA-1 is too special of a truck to let it fail. Please do something Kyosho! Years ago, Tamiya had a truck called the Juggernaut. It had major transmission problems. However, Tamiya redesigned the transmission and gave the new transmission parts to all their loyal customers. Kyosho should do the same thing with this awesome USA-1 truck. If Kyosho really wants to honor their loyal customers, in addition to re-designing the 3-speed transmission gears, they should also offer some kind of gift voucher to those who have already upgraded to the steel gears. Anyway, thank you, Kyosho, for making this USA-1 truck. I hope you keep it in production for a long time.
Dear all of Kyosho haters. Kyosho is one of the best rc car company that produces models that are actually affordable but also reliable. I have a FW-06 that is not brand new but the engine still runs like a champion!!!! If you don't have enough money to buy a pro nitro kit then you should consider buying a model from Kyosho instead
Yeah you will !!!! I got the Fox 2.0 and it should have the same 3 speed. Took the .25 out and dropped in a LRP 28 and smoked the transmission in less than 5 minutes!!! So I converted it to brushless.
@@paulguerrero972 double the power what did you expect :'( sorry dude. Brushless is fast but not as fun or rewarding for me. Depends what you drive it for I guess. Sounds, smells and shifts is my taste

Kyosho is killing it right now, I’m a huge fan of anything mini/micro scale with brushless+lipo performance, right now I know the MR-03EVO Chassis for the Mini-Z has a Kyosho speedhouse Xspeed85 8500kv brushless motor and can be run with a couple AAA battery sized 1s Lipos’ with excellent results, but I want to see more and more in that realm of the RC industry and I believe Kyosho has the potential to dominate that corner of the market
My gears aren't engaging at higher rpm. Engine revs up to max but power doesn't transfer to wheels. I would appreciate any advise on how to fix the problem. Thanks in advance
I pre-ordered the electric version can't wait until they drop. Got out of nitro years ago. Have tons of nitro trucks and 5 of the mgt. They just sit with after run oil in them lol.
Does it change Gear .Kyosho mine don’t I’ve spent £100 ‘s of pounds on this truck in parts . It’s completely miffed me off I think I’m just about done with it . All I want is for it to change gears . It's a very cool truck but I'll take electric over nitro every day of the week. Cleaner, faster, more reliable, and people don't call the cops on you for making too much noise.
And i am the opposite. Nitro over electric any day. Much more fun your diffs last longer and the fantastic smoke and sound. And 3 speed baby. Electric is so sterile and have no character.
@LocoNitro I only ask because I saw the proposed plan to ban small engines , like lawnmowers etc , when someone says " noise/pollution " no offense but 7s non Cali people automatically think California
@LocoNitro I just wish there was a little balance , my state Florida BTW could care less it seems, and your state seems goes way to far lol. For example our stupid cardboard straws , can you imagine a boardroom full of smart powerful people trying to solve the problem of plastic in Florida waterways , and dissolving straws is the best they can come up with lol

Get the steel gears from GTB Racing, and it will solve the problems. Also, make sure you have a working one-way bearing.

Ah, no. In fact, it's a 3 speed and that chassis has had a 3 speed setup for 20yrs going back to the Mega Force.
