Gwent > Every other card game? 😏
indeed its only card game i can understand
Yes, I love it. I’m buying a real deck and I’m going to force my friends to play it
Agreed
Da
Idk triple triad was pretty good too
"Yearning for a round of Gwent, that oughta set me straight" 🍺
This is the main part of the game- finding Ciri is only the sidequest 😎
I couldn't agree more!
"Let's play cards. Gwent wouldn't be bad"
Man I hope ciri doesn't forget me (500 hours of gwent)
For me, northern realms deck, 22 normals with as many spies as possible, 3 commander horn specials, foltest clear weather leader. First round I'll mostly lose if I have spies to use as to get a nice big deck built, after that they get overwhelmed and crumble. Never lost a game!
Exactly how I play too. Wanna change it up though, try a different faction.
I took your advice 2 months ago when starting my gwent journey and it has carried me through most the game!
@@psc293192 I'd like to try other factions as well. But the cards I have for them just suck. Muster mechanic especially becomes much weaker when you are missing cards and ideally those decks might not want to be as thin as possible.
Where do you get spy cards? Or other leader cards?
@@iiZurcbuy them from innkeepers and merchants. Win them by winning games against NPCs
1) play temeria or nilfguard
2) bring as many decoy, rez, and spy cards you can
3) stall out the AI with your card advantage from step 2
4) win
North beats both easy
@@noteveryonesbad3912 Temaria is north
@@FredrikSkievan is the deck called temaria?
@@noteveryonesbad3912 Nay, It’s called Northern Realms. But considering Foltest the king of temaria is the leader i can see how some would think it a Temerian deck
@fredrikbjerke5359 nay? Lol are you temeria? It's called the northern relams deck. Which is way more than temaria.
Tip: keep the bare minimum of cards in your deck so that the odds are greater that you pull a high power card. I’m talking 22 cards and maybe a couple special cards. Usually clear weather and decoy are the only ones worth keeping in my decks. So 24 cards each except for monster deck which is like 26.
I'd go even higher then 26 with a monster deck, the more musters the better IMO.
I use decks like Northern relms with all the draw and stuff like odimm mass summon. Along with 3x the buff cards and some other specials. I'll draw most of my deck every game eventhough I have like 30 cards
The miraculous guide to gwent is automatically given to you when you play your first gwent game in white orchard
Love northern realms. All the spies…always lose the first round and then win the second 2.
LOL that's the tactic I tend to employ. Sacrifice the first game and then smack the crap out of them the next 2.
Great guide mate, thank you 😊
No worries mate!
In my latest playthrough I rushed to Toussaint to get the skellige cards, and play with that deck as many games as I can. So I skipped the Velen questline, and went immediately to Novigrad, because that unlocks the quest for Toussaint. It is very easy to unlock that area, because the fight against the bandits in Velen is entirely skippable (but also doable with the new armors even when heavily underleveled), and then near the mill you can one-shot Golyat with your crossbow (or alternatively you can just roll around and wait for the others to kill him). After that you are free to roam in Toussaint, and you can get every card from the merchants, just ignore any enemies you encounter while you gallop on Roach from A to B.
So far I like the deck very much. My basic gameplan is to win r1, then reshuffle graveyard in r2 and play two strong cards (so they will be summoned later), and then win r3. Usually I want a muster ship and a decoy in hand, so I summon the ships, then get one back to hand with decoy, so I can use the muster ability again later after I shuffled back my graveyard.
I'm still in the card collecting phase, as I'm still missing some good cards I wanna include, like the Mysterious Elf for example. The true test of the deck will be the tournament in the Passiflora inn, and also the Toussaint gwent tournament will be interesting.
I respect your decision but I absolutely hated the new deck they added 😂😂
@@RedRider763 Same but that's because people play the class wrong. Aim to go for 2:0 or at least force first round. Play a reshuffle deck with longboards and gaunter o dimm darkness. The deck is better than nilfgaard. If witcher 3 gwent was an actual game, skellige would beat the spies.
I plan on skipping Gwent on my first playthrough, just so i can do my research on how to build a deck BEFOREHAND, check on missable cards without spoiling characters for me, and be a Gwent Master soon enough.
ok so I know this is an older video, but Im playing through the witcher 3 for the first time. I want to thank you for the easy to understand explanation. Especially the fact that you mentioned that you do win cards from each of the small vendors you can play. I thought you only won cards from the opponents in the gwent quests. so thank you.
Oh yeah baby, here it is...cheers for the content mate.
🙂
Hope you liked it! 🤙
Northern realm, 22 cards as many spies and siege cards as possible, a decoy is nice. The the leader that doubles siege point. I’ve don’t great and rarely lose with this deck.
6 months late but what the hell. Got tired of the same predictable spy decoy strategy, so I decided to make a Skellige bad weather deck using King Bran, the muster and tight bond cards. Makes for a fun challenge.
Thanks. 80 hours in and I have no idea how to play.
Playing Witcher 3 this month. I don't understand how the card work so I just skip all the Gwint quest. 😅
Hurry, I need to find Ciri. She might be in danger. By the way, Do you play Gwent?
HAHAHAHA
Trying to get the achievement for crossbow headshot kills so a crossbow build at some point would be great
Just use everything related to crossbows lol, there isn't that much variety to it. Run cat eyes, run all the crossbow skills in the red tree, then probs just run alchemy so you can beef up your damage with potions
^ Basically this. Just grab all the crossbows skills and mutation.
Only recently started playing. Nilfguard and Frost is great. Chuck out enough spies that AI thinks they’ll win first round, then reduce everything to one to get a cheap win and massive card lead.
The Nilfgaardian deck is my favorite by far! All the spies 🤣
Northern realm has at least if not more spies.
@@konniemac316 But they have much less medics and don't have the leader card which lets you take a card from your opponent's discard pile. And no, the northern realms deck does not have more spies. Each deck has 3 unique plus avallach, its just that the nilfgaard deck has a much easier time reusing them.
@@jonathan13co but with the siege units, the king can double the points. Utilizing decoys adds potentially even more spies to the deck. Plus there’s the nurse and Yen as healers. There’s been many times where I’ve used every card in my deck.
The AI really doesn't understand Commander's Horn.
I wish I could pick another strat but due to the way you get cards trickling in throughout the game, I always end up with the same setup. Foltest Siege card, Stack Siege cards, Every Spy card available, Clear weather for when I drop my Siege bomb and Biting Frost for monster players. It never fails for me but I’m bored of it
I am having absolutely no luck with Gwent, had no issue back when I played the game a few years back. Come back and now I loose consistently. Worst thing is the higher level players through quests seem fairly fine, keep getting trounced by random nobodies with ridiculously solid decks for some reason. Currently on an incredible losing streak against Ethal of all people. Swear the AI cheats, every match I’ve had they draw all of their spies to play immediately, even with decoys I can’t keep up. And I do mean every single game.
"What is your favorite Gwent Fac..."
"Monster"
"What about..."
"No. Monster deck."
Me who still can’t understand gwent even after this guide
Same here and it makes me hate gwent.
It is easy to understand
why do you collect gwent cards if you cant use them?
objectively speaking northern realms is the most powerful so that's what i use on each one of my playthroughs
As much as I hate to admit it, the Skellige deck is actually the most OP in my opinion, as long as you pad your deck properly. It's an unbeatable deck.
Nilfgaard!!!
Saw a 3 point roach card. Where is it in the game. It was pulled when a bar tender played Geralt with the ability to pull the roach card
You have to had played the Gwent Standalone Card Game to obtain the Roach muster card
Sir, when can we expect to see Ursine gear build to pop up? : ) (Would be cool to see some almost pure combat variation)
Bear build is scheduled for Tuesday next week. It's coming friend :)
I suck at gwent, I’m on my first play though of the game and I had to skip all the gwent quest because I kept losing 😢
Try changing the difficulty to easy for Gwent
I was terrible at it too until i got 3 spy cards and maybe 2 unbrakeable 10' cards. From that point it was really easy.
Beating baron was fucking exhausting, although with my current deck it would be ez pz
It gets easier the more cards you get. definitely recommend buying cards from merchants to fill out your deck :)
Really try to get your hands on spy cards. They change the difficulty soooo much and give you an incredible advantage.
Use the Commanders Horn cards. Make sure you start each match with at least 2 of them. I really struggled against that damn boat builder in Oreton. Lost to him time and again. Ran round beating inn keepers and kept all 3 cards from Zoltan’s card quest. Finally nailed the Oreton guy after beating Thaler. Good luck !
Reallllllly wish gwent cards carried over in NG+…
Probably a noob Q, When did they change the art for gwent cards? Mine still show the old art.
Its a setting. If you have the free DLC you can toggle the og or new styles for some cards.
well at least i can understand it unlike caravan from fallout new vegas, still love both
Skellige best deck love skellige deck
I hate it myself but if padded right it's the most OP deck available.
Nilfgaard ftw
Okay, so I'm just now getting into the game, so I came here. But 30 seconds in, I set the playback speed to .75x because you talk WAY too fast for this to be a beginner video. It honestly sounds mostly normal except for some snippets where you speed up randomly for a few words.
I am totally sure nothrend is the best faction I just wish I could challenge a real player to test my theory, but in witcher 3 I decided only to play monster as I think it's the weakest and very funny to play
My man just rambled arround 11 minutes to explain the exact same things the tutorials tell you. AMAZING.
As informative as your comment.
Can you do a location guide 😂 sound to much I know
I was hoping for a.new.gwent faction for the new update
There is the Skellige deck but that's only available through the DLC Blood And Wine I believe.
@@BigDaddyJinx The skellige deck is eight years old. They were referring to a NEW faction for the next gen update that was made one year ago.
Gwent is good only in the Witcher 3 game fr
Gwent is literally trump (the card game not mr orange) on steroids
Spy is the meta hehehe
Nah, skellige reshuffle beats spies. You can have 100% winrate on hard if you build the deck right. But most factions can consistently win. Gwent isnt that hard in witcher 3 but with some card gaming affinity you can really stretch the numbers.
ugh I'm still confused
Slow down man. i'm here to learn. not run a marathon !
I'm on my fourth attempt to try and play it, still don't know. It doesn't matter what cards I play, my opponent will lay out cards with 8, 10 points, plus multipliers and I'll get smashed. Every time.
If your opponent has stronger deck, you can counter that with weather cards
Weather cards to kill commanders horn. Don't be afraid to lose a round if your opponent goes nuts and plays most of their hand in one round. Save your good cards as best you can.
@@tomek78910 thanks for the tip, tried it and I occasionally win a hand here or there but hardly ever a match.
@@danielearley5062 Probably zero affinity for stratgey and card games, happens.-
Haha i got no idea how this game works, i watched countless guides, videos, i must be dumb
What part do you struggle with?
@@norzza all of it, none of it makes a lick of sense to me lol
It's just adding card numbers together to have the highest total at the end of two rounds out of three.
Any card with an extra effect, you can hit the zoom/magnify button and read a description of the effect whenever you want.
I retained nothing from this video. Just word salad blasted from a cannon lol
Not German Translate 😢
Game is rigged! You literally wont win, unless you have built up a good duck, or rng lets you. Somehow the AI always have better cards, no matter what. Its ludicrous.
Yep. They always seem to have JUST the right cards at JUST the right time every time, don't they?
@@BigDaddyJinx You need to buy cards for gwent. Check innkeepers and merchants in villages, they usually have 4 or even more
@@BigDaddyJinx thats what people say about pvp card games (those that dont understand variance). lets hope your comment was irony and if not probably pretend that it was.
I think this guy is in a hurry. He must be because he's speed babbling while explaining how to use the deck of cards.
Maybe he had to take a wiz.
Did you just copy wiki? Lmao this isn't a guide at all
Dude,..., talk slower !!!
