I love how you broke down and dissected the lyrics of Presyon. It's my fave song in Alon album because of the bars too. I think the English translations lost some of the bars that you can only understand if you speak and understand Tagalog for example the line "Alulod ko'y pinuno nyo ng galit"
The word "alulod" (gutter or downspout) symbolizes emotional capacity by drawing a connection between its practical function and how emotions are managed and expressed.
In its practical sense, an alulod is a channel that directs rainwater from a roof to the ground, preventing overflow and damage. It carries the water away in a controlled manner. Symbolically, this can represent a person's ability to manage and direct their emotions-keeping their feelings in check and expressing them in a controlled way.
When the line says, "Alulod ko'y pinuno n'yo ng galit" (You filled my gutter with anger), it suggests that just as an alulod can only handle a limited amount of water before it overflows, a person’s emotional capacity is also limited. The line "pangil sa pangil" is translated to "a tooth for a tooth" in the song, but pangil is actually fang in English. I really love that line, especially the way Pablo sang it. In the first verse, it's like a warning. In the second, it feels like he's so ready to gnaw and kill some shthead lol. The alpha unleashed his savageness. Really, no holds barred.
