And what is wrong with Cool Beans? I love watching these guys, but I think Busta needs to come to Canada for a Cool Beans butt whoopin on the course. We will call it Canadian Bacon!
It doesn't make sense why y'all don't have 500k+ subscribers. Obviously, they're both much better at golf than us, but they are the most relatable people. This was a damn funny video with all the deer, the commentary and it was a warzone out there lol.
Quality upload from BustaJack. Saw Madjack's post on the new channel and can appreciate the work involved and the need for change. Sad to see it but can appreciate it as well. Love ya boys!
Played last month with randoms, local Howard and his son Mike & had the best time! Cool how it opens up back to back 3's 4's and 5's. Truly a tale of 2 9's. Although the length may not be there, this place is ridiculous beautiful amd has to be one of the best walks in the nation.
I grew up playing PG. I still consider this the best course in California. For the price, the views you get, and the condition of the course in general, you can’t beat it. Monterey golf at its finest.
Awesome video fellas! That's a fun lil course. The fishy smell is from a massive amount of school fish (anchovies mostly) being eaten by the other bigger sea life. Monterey Bay has a vast biodiversity which is unlike most ocean/beach places.
Great vid! I've played this course many times. Usually when visiting the Monterey Peninsula for the Clambake, or other Pebble Beach tournaments. The front and back are like playing two different courses. It's a tricky little thing, with a world class back nine, grab some beers after nine to have extra fun! The word is getting out on this little classic though, so tee times can be tough and they jacked up the prices to match. There are a bunch of great courses to play down there as well. Laguna Seca, Bayonet and Black Horse come to mind as fun challengers that won't break your bank.
Used to play this course a few times a year back in the 80’s-90’s. One of the most famous aspects of the course was the ice plant that lined most of the back nine of the course. A golf buddy coined the term “tossing a salad” for what it was like trying to hit your ball out of that stuff. Unfortunately this feature disappeared as a result of the multi year droughts we experienced in CA. A real shame. It not only looked cool but definitely made the course play tougher. Too bad you didn’t know to start out on the back 9. It definitely bus the cooler 9.
Actually it disappeared because we killed it and replaced it with native plants and grasses. Ice plant is not a native plant to the peninsula and is very intrusive. It was first planted by the Army on the dunes at Fort Ord (now decommissioned) to keep the sands from shifting and filling in their rifle ranges. You can still see the remnants of the ranges on the west side of hwy 1 between the Imjin Parkway and Lightfighter exits. War was declared on ice plant after the Army left, and native plants are returning nicely. Much better for golf on the peninsula 😊
Just played last month there. Played w a local. He says the reason it starts on 2 par 3s is bc the original clubhouse used to be over behind 5 green/6 tee and it used to only be 9 holes (the current front 9). Makes sense now why when they put the clubhouse over where it is now, that you have 2 opening par 3s.
Good entertainment. Riding a cart at Pacific Grove is just wrong. Front 9 is a basic California muni. Back 9 is Pebble lite but we didn’t get to see the best holes. It used to be really cheap but demand-based pricing rules now. Curious to see where else you played out here. Would be fun to see Bayonet and Black Horse - tree lined narrow fairways ideally suited to sending it 😢
Used to golf here growing up with my buddies. Love the whole area for golf. Try some of the other courses that are very challenging like bayonet and blackhorse, del monte (monterey), quail lodge, laguna seca (used to be good, but i've heard they let it go a bit), even pajaro in watsonville/aromas.
Remember playing here with my dad and grandpa back in like 1997? Weather got pretty bad on the ocean holes and it was just an amazing experience as a young kid. Good stuff, boys.
We used to live 5 min from PG links. Played here on the monthly. Such a fun round. You guys really missed out not playing the full back 9. Miss the peninsula deer and the whole area vibe. If you're still there you have to hit up Lucy's just up the road on Lighthouse for some killer hotdogs and pork tots! Best grub in the area.
Pacific Grove. I played this course in March for my 40th birthday and it did not disappoint. The views are incredible and the back line being a full link style is super cool.
That was fun. Great golf, some really incredible shots too. Great personalities and you guys are great together. Editing and camera work is as good as any, maybe better. You follow the ball until it stops. As a viewer, why would I be looking at the golfer while the ball's in flight? I wish you marked with an arrow where the pin is. Thank you for today. Now go play the back nine again.
Those little dear are everywhere there. And they will not move for you. Also, couldn't agree more about that course. It's such a great course that is so underrated and deserves to make the bucket list
I’ve played this course several times and have always thought they should just make it a 9 hole with the back 9. You guys would’ve really enjoyed playing it through
It's probably too late to be useful, but another great golf value out there is Bayonet and Black Horse on the former Fort Ord. Great courses (at least back when I lived out there) for the $$$. It's great to see some courses I've played.

Pacific Grove Golf Course. It’s always that slow. There’s a ton of retired folk in Monterey, hence the speed of play. Can’t beat that view for 65 bucks though. Love playing there when I’m in Monterey

What course is it? I watched looking to hear the name and didn't (I am in California so I'm for sure interested in playing there)

Pacific Grove is my favorite place on the coast. Too bad you didn't play the full back nine and get introduced properly to the iceplant.
Lol it’s a very rookie mistake at pg to ever play the front 9
Or send a ball out to Little Norway!
Shout out from Alaska! Cool to hear us mentioned. Come up again for some fishing and golf!
Yep, was great hearing the shout-out. Can't wait for May for the snow to melt and get back out there.

Gem, and tough!
My favorite course! PG links is also such a fun round too. This brings back memories of living in Pacific Grove 😢
Agreed!!
meh…….Robert Trent Jones, Jr. buried a few Volkswagen beetles in the greens and called it a day. Often referred to as “sloppy poppy” by PGA pros.
Play Bayonet, not Poppy…

California can be a trip sometimes. Crap ton of people yet wildlife can also be found everywhere.
I've played this course! Pacific grove in Monterey. Beautiful back 9. Very good price to play!
Pacific Grove! One of my favorite courses!

Okay I lied it was the driver on 6
Great golf course!!!
What's not to like...great price, great views, and a nice little tasty restaurant/bar
I’m a new golfer and shot a 94 there when I went last Tuesday I was happy with it. And on hole 2 a deer shit on the green so I had to putt through it😂
What a great course , back nine is beautiful.

Back nine is amazing. Front nine is God awful unfortunately and painfully slow.

This is a super cool course.
Keep it yup, fellas!
The fact it took you 9 holes to tie a hole is insane. That had to be the first time ever you two had done that.
Good stuff boys. 👍
I mean I don’t need a belt for the head cover but I could use a stash pocket for tees, markers, divot tools, recreational drugs. Make it magnetic too
you should play bayonet black horse while you are here next time. Hardest courses ever and the most beautiful IMO
Hell yeah. Perfect timing.
Bayonet is legit in Monterey… pga championship in 2018!
"Are we stupid?"
In the best way possible.
Thanks for stepping out to the west coast from a west coaster trapped in Vermont.
