I was very underwhelmed about the ending. I already had a feeling what the ending was gonna be even without being spoiled. I did love Naomi Scott’s performance though. I am very conflicted about liking it/not liking it. I loved the beginning though because of Joel but I am sad. I expected more too, glad I’m not the only one. I’m very mixed.
The ending was certainly the predictable ending, but there’s something so unsettling about the entity and how it messes with people’s head that makes it an effect psychological thrill, and that overcomes any predictability to me. Plus the acting was so so good, and the music brought it again.
I felt like this film was perfect, everything i wanted in a horror movie... Need to make a review on this film as well... Keep up the good work brother
Maybe it’s because I expected it to be cheap lazy sequel going in but I loved it so much more than I thought I would. And walking out the physiological aspects really left a mark on me which I was not expecting.
I liked the first 10 minutes, but then it bored me, and it was too predictable, and it's far too overhyped There's nothing new this film offers Everything it offered is way worse than the first, in my opinion
Smile 2 is great , if not better, than the first one. A former drug addict being tormented psychologically was a great choice. Naomi was amazing. She went through the ringer, man
The opening scene was absolutely amazing, mind-blowing intro and had me completely zoned in. Unfortunately after about half way I think they lost their way completely. very dissapointing 2nd half, I think they needed to be way more investigative in the origin of the entity. I really wished they kept the cop alive and somehow bring him back in the film.
I actually really liked it. I was nervous at first that it was going to be corny because I wasn’t feeling the lead actress. But by halfway through she really had be gripped into the story with her. Loved the rest of the cast as well, I think they did a phenomenal job. I doubted the first one and was very pleasantly surprised. While I wasn’t as *impressed* with this one, I think it’s mostly because I went in with higher expectations because of the 1st one. Overall, I loved it! Great horror movie
@TF2ReplayMaker yes? I'd already seen Ouija Origin of Evil. It's one of my favorite horror sequels of 2016. Along with Evil Dead Rise is my favorite flick of 2023. Maybe I just can't wait to make a new film named Evil Dead Thanksgiving. It has production starts next month, yeah!?
I was surprised how much I enjoyed the first film, but I have to disagree on a lot of your points in the review. Obviously you likely know a bit more about film than I do, but I felt the second was both bigger and better than the first. I do agree Scott was phenomenal and the best part of the movie, but I also liked everything they did with this. I felt like it was truly scary and I was fine with seeing some of the jump scares coming; I think that added to the psychological torment the character was going through. I’m sorry you didn’t love it! For me, it was everything I wanted and more.
I’m a HUGE movie enthusiast/lover especially horror movies, aspiring business owner and actress. I’ve already watched 43 new releases in the movie theater this year. I’m so excited to watch Smile 2 tomorrow in RPX! This was another good movie review. ❤❤❤❤
For me, both movies are pretty on par with another but I do like the 2nd movie slightly than the first. The best part is absolutely the protagonist both the character and Naomi Scott's performance. Giving a pop star with more public attention who had past trauma and drugs history makes the movie more intense because whenever she's going crazy, she's definitely gonna attract a lot of attention and nobody's gonna believe her because of her past. Also a lot of sequence in this film gonna be more memorable than the first film. And the ending is interesting and I'm curious where we're going next because of what happened in the ending. But I do feel the smile gimmick worked better in the first film. It felt more creepy where in this one it's get sillier especially when so many people's smiling at her. Some sequence also feel too over the top. At some point i was laughing when it's supposed to be scary 😂. Unlike the first film the scare was subtle but this is one maybe a little bit too loud at some point. And while i like the ending, I don't like the character's fate in the end. Overall, I like both movies. Smile (2022) 3.75/5 Smile 2 (2024) 4/5
I think we’re opposites. I thought the trailer for the first one looked great but the movie itself was disappointing. I thought the creature at the end looked absolutely ridiculous. I mean, it was a large woman in a camisole and panties! Not the most threatening image I’ve seen in a horror movie. As for Smile 2, I think the trailers all look pretty bad and I think most of us know where it’s leading: Skye committing suicide in front of a large audience. Why else would Parker Finn make the main character a pop star? Not exactly the most relatable protagonist. I really like Naomi Scott as an actor, but I don’t think her agents are doing her any favors. If I end up watching Smile 2, it’ll probably be when it’s on streaming and I have nothing else to watch.
@@drewmcgill5290smile 2 is thematically exactly the same aside from the scope, the graphics were better, acting was better, music was just as good, if you liked smile 1, smile 2 is just the exact same movie just done better and bigger. I can understand not liking either, but if you like 1, it only makes sense that 2 would be even better to you
@@dansbigfanguitarist 1 is scarier. Scope and production doesn’t equal scarier. They did the same jump scares for the most part besides the stupid car lights in the eyes scare. A lot more fake outs than the first too.
That smile in the intro was a good attempt 8/10

agreed, I thought it was leaps and bounds better than the first, and I really enjoyed the first one
The ending could have gone in a different direction but still a crazy fun ride!! 😃
The smile in the intro had me CACKLING! 😂

The opening scene was fucking incredible! I agree with the backhalf

Totally agree. Disappointed for sure
Thanks for sharing happy to see I’m not alone
For me, Smile 2 is a disastrous sequel to the original Smile. But, what do you want to watch Terrifier 3 instead.
Is this a question or a statement?

Smile 2 was better than the original. But I respect your opinion.
Thank you so much for this review.❤
I was so disappointed because I loved the first movie. This movie was bigger, but not better.
Respectfully. Your wrong it was not only bigger and better , but more sparkly and glamouris 😊

I did not like the shift in tone from the first film. it's become too silly in my opinion. Smile 2 feels way more like Blumhouse than Smile 1
I agree! It was good but I needed moooooore
I dont get how people say this movie is bigger and better than the first. Its literally the same movie beat for beat. It was so predictable.

Terrible opinion, movie was great
Part 1 was better 🤷♂️ Naomi’s performance was definitely the best of both films though.
