14:14 beautiful beautiful Beautiful beautiful!!!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 Really love modulation!!! Thank you again sir!! Loved this one!! This reminds me of cool cadences where you teach how to end song with style! Stay blessed teacher!! Blessed! 👌👍😱😇🙏🙏🙏😍😍👏👏👏👏
Thank you Warren! Was working on a piano recording today and used a transition from the key of Eb to F by playing the C scale. You gave me the knowledge and confidence! And it sounded lovely! Gonna soak this up now!
Another option I propose is to omit the I chord from the common-tone modulation, so "ri - ver" isn't V - I, but V - new V (bVI), giving you a false cadence.
Warren I send cordial greetings and hugs from Colombia ... thank you very much for sharing so wonderful knowledge !!!!!!!! ... God bless you always for helping us to improve musically every day ... I just have to say thank you thank you and thank you very much !!!!!!!!
Dope video sir! Would you mind doing a video on praise break movements in C#/Db I want to understand what those chord movements and runs are and I can’t seem to find a good tutorial online. Thanks a lot for all your wonderful videos, great help!
did you ever see the movie, Amadeus, where Mozart was told there are "too many notes"? Well in my case, there are too many note makers. I've had a very busy summer and have not been watching your stories, because I've been busy with many other things and many other trainers that I've learned from. at the moment, I am really enjoying the master class being taught by Herbie Hancock. I do really enjoy your lessons and I will be attempting to listen and learn from you more often now that the summer is over. Thank you for this lesson.
Blake Green yes you can, however I don’t see why you’d want to modulate to a lower key? Especially if there’s a singer involved, modulating to a lower will feel weird for the singer.
Waaaaooooo, Am really so grateful and am trying my best to apply all the lessons I have been following and watching... I really appreciate the wonderful work you are doing and reaching to us and making me I dentify new things on piano.. I would love to know, do you have the school for piano because I really want to be helped
So this video talked about modulating in a single song, and it was great! But what about when you’re transitioning to new songs that might be in completely different keys? For example, is there a way to make a jump from C to Gb sound natural? Or maybe A to Db?
SoniCraft98 if the song is in a different key then it’s not modulation, it’s called a transition. Modulations refer to the same song being moved through different keys. Transitioning to another song is a who other concept and I each case with be different based on some factors. Things to consider are: 1. Is it a direct and immediate transition to the next song, Are is there a few beats available before the next song starts 2. Does the next song have a similar tempo, time signature and style? 3. Does the next song require and intro? 4. How far apart are the two keys (2nd, 3rd, 4th etc)? Based on the answer for these questions each transition will be approached different.
P.S. I thought this video was going to be about fingering so that my fingers won't trip up... Do you have a video that fully covers fingering for fast playing? Tysm ! You're amazing!
Natural Beauty no I don’t, because what you need is a technique building course, which I do have on the website. Speed is achieved through correct technique, and correct technique requires a series of exercises done on and regular and consistent basis to develop speed.
@@PianoLessonwithWarren yes sir! Well, on your channel, I love learning tricks to ornamenting! 😍 You have a great channel! Meanwhile, I will be working on technique too😋 Thank You! I will continue to watch your videos! I am a fan of yours!
Natural Beauty I meant to say earlier I do have a technique building course. You can learn more hear pianolessonwithwarren.com/downloads/building-technique/
The best way to put it is Could you do a video on improvisation techniques. One that would give a guide on how to generate runs and fillers to play along with chords instead of just playing chords alone .
Wynt-Lee Ambrose unfortunately I have no idea. I’m not an affiliate of the software so I don’t have any inside knowledge on the decision they make. They probably stop making it free because I promote the free version in my channel 🤷🏽♂️
thanx so much sir...am reallly learning a lot..could u pleas also do some bossanova /salsa(progressions)tutorials in some gospel songs if u can. U are a great teacher sir. God bless u
Warren, I think that you are very knowledgeable, but I think that you would be much more effective in teaching us what you are doing if when you modulate to the next key that you actually call out the notes/chords so that we understand better. For example when you modulated from the key of C up a whold step to the key of D, I wasn't able to see the movement. The video go so fast past the actural thing that you are trying to teach and I don't see what you are doing. I really do understand the theory if you explain it and also show it.
L. Johnson I understand, sorry about that. However, for now, you can slow down the playback speed of the video from the RUclips setting. You can also download the lms free file and use it in Midiculous. Thanks for the tip, will go slower in the next videos.

Virgil-andre KOUAKOU you’re welcome 😉
Since this video is about modulation you should do a tutorial on “I do” by John P. Kee
How are you sir..please do that song..in the cross,be my glory ever.
Thanks very much ,i used to do it but i thought it wasn't good for modulation
this is too good
Thanks sir shouting out from Nigeria I love I sir can you please explain when u are demodulating thank u
Abosede Caleb it’s the opposite of modulation, so going down instead of going up.
@@PianoLessonwithWarren ok sir

How would you help me on C#/Db key ... I would love to know those modulations and runs
Would you mind to make the second part of this one? How about modulate from third major key?
Andre Gultom not sure I understand the question
Are there other alternatives besides this method Sir? Thank you 😊
Andre Gultom it all depends on the song and what you’re trying to achieve, but yes there are.
Hey Warren, if I am modulating to a chord that’s not the one, should I use the secondary dominant of that chord?
