Wow, very impressed. Thanks for not giving up on the Bolt, I want this! And it's using the latest, greatest Comma III hardware too. Us mere mortals bow down to your superior programming abilities which makes the future arrive that much sooner. George Hotz, add the Chevy Bolt to Comma support.
The 2022 or 2023 model year Bolt (with stock ACC) should have no hurdles to official support. Already have a couple EUV owners running OPGM - one of them dislikes the stock ACC so much that he's using OP's instead
I own a 2019 Premier, any chance one day I can plug and play a Comma III? I can live without adaptive cruise control if that requires more wires or complexity.
@@StandBackLabs I just bought a 2023 EV 2LT. No ACC, but it has LKA. Are you saying that I can buy the Comma 3 and use this branch and be able to have relatively decent auto-pilot without having to install any sort of braking control adapter? If so, I'm gonna buy it today.
Really glad to see you are doing better and to see the great progress. I did a four hour test drive yesterday using boltpilot and a Comma2. Steering worked great ACC not so well. Thank you very much for the great progress you have made and for your video and look forward to the next steps.
Hey Pete! I need to backport my latest changes to the Comma 2 branch, and the ACC will improve dramatically. Feel free to pester me about it on Discord - my memory is a challenge.. Glad to hear you got it working!
Every video you put out makes me more and more eager to get my 2022 Bolt EUV Launch Edition, end then upgrade it with this system. Your work paves the way for the rest of us who aren't as up on our coding (I last touched C+ in highschool). I'm glad you pushed through the set backs and I can't wait to see what you do.
LOL. "we're going 82 in a posted 60 mph in a construction zone"...and we are looking for a ticket. Great review on the Comma 3 and to your point, don't waste money on the Comma 2
Super excited glad to hear you are doing better. Recently started getting myself out of that same hole. I'm wondering if there is a way to intermediately program in the hand regen peddle before emergency braking.
I’ve only been on RUclips sporadically lately, but last time I was on I watched the video about how you were not doing so great. I’m so glad to hear you are feeling better!!!! When you are in stop and go and the car is holding position, are your brake lights activated? In my 2020 Bolt the brake lights shut off after the car comes to a complete stop in ‘L’.
Out of curiosity, would you happen to know if this setup would work on a Bolt EUV LT or are there features in the higher trim levels needed to duplicate something like this? Thanks!
As long as the car has LKAS, I feel pretty confident the answer is yes. If your volt has stock ACC _and_ LKAS, it should already be supported by Comma :)
I've developed a custom fork and camera harness for openpilot, that runs on the Comma 3 hardware from comma.ai. You need a camera harness (which hopefully I can hand off to comma), and a gas pedal interceptor - those are a little harder to find, but not impossible.

Will you have an online store again where we can buy a kit for the Chevy Bolt? Or the camera harness and pedal interceptor seperately?
excellent work brother keep it up!

Not a bad idea - of course most things are possible, and I do intend to pursue such alternatives once OPGM has less wonky code :)
The regen paddle doesn't produce any more stopping force than L mode does. Just got to figure out a way to trigger the friction brakes.
@@TheSeanUhTron Yes it does, at speeds above ~20 mph the regen goes from 30-60 to 50-70 KW when pressing the pedal in L.

I'm not sure actually - is there a way to tell without a following car?
@@StandBackLabs I’m able to tell mostly at night, but some dust on the back window definitely makes the brake lights visible from the driver seat.

I have a 2022 Bolt Ev 2LT with the adaptive cruise control is the compatible with my vehicle.
could you detail your wiring harnesses? I have a 2020 Bolt EV Premier trim and not finding any joy with my Comma3 installation. :( tyvm
are you gonna take your car in for the replacement battery? that range... or lack thereof!
Yes, or I might trade for a newer one
Any reason this wouldn't work with the gen1 Volt? Do you know it it has been tried?
As long as the car has LKAS, I feel pretty confident the answer is yes. If your volt has stock ACC _and_ LKAS, it should already be supported by Comma :)
I don't think gen1 came with LKAS, it only came with lane departure warning
What fork are you using? Getting my 2022 bolt and looking to put my comma.2 back to work :)
github.com/opgm/openpilot. The comma2 branch is behind right now, but I plan to keep the GM specific stuff up to date as long as I can
Seriously tempted to buy the required bits. Can’t find pedal box and harness…
I am having trouble getting my comma 2 to work in my 2023 Bolt, do I need a comma three to make it work?
theres a few "open pilot is back" videos on the channel - did it stop working with an update or something?
Would this work on 2022 Chevy bolt 1Lt with out the adaptive cruise control ?
Is the bolt EV 1LT can use it?
How do you get your own ACC tune and allow the regen to go higer?
Would you recommend the comma 3 for 2019 Chevy bolt lt?
How far away is the ai from matching the start with the car in front of you at a stop and go?
Which is the fork you are using? Can I install it on my Mr.One Clone?
Is ACC via CC included in OPGM?
I want to get this for Silverado but I don’t have ACC online lane assist that ping pong me around.
what about 2022 bolt euv with adapt cruise and lane keep will this work
would this void my warranty on my Bolt?
Kalamazoo!
I've always wondered. When it slows down, do the brake lights turn on?
Yes, the brake lights do come on when slowing down in "L" mode. But in the 2017-22 models, the brake lights turn back off once completely stopped.
I like Korean Bolt ev openpilot 0.8.14
Is there a way to get this to work on a Bolt EV LT1?
You need at least lane keep assist, from my understanding. If you don't have that, it won't work
i want link to buy all stuff need for install comma 3 in bolt euv 2022
