Hi Everyone! I need to apologize I grabbed a mislabeled reference photo. The bottom one is a white tail. It was brought to my attention by a viewer not sure (Colton Olsen)? I am sorry, I was answering your comment and went to look at the photo then everything was gone! LOL...I guess I deleted the whole thing. Don't know how that happened either. So please viewer identify yourself to me again and thank you for catching my mistake. The top photo is a mule and the bottom is a whitetail. Add more light color to the face for the muley.
You are David Jansen. You do no wrong as far as I'm concerned. We're all human! 😂 You are on my bucket list of my mentors and most influential people I'd love to meet before I die! Thank you for being just as you are! Bless you and your family, always!
Your Whitetail Dee Buck has such a sweet-gentle face you automatically smile. I like the softness of his ears and large eyes. The deers face really stood out after adding the light gray color to your portrait. Another great painting, and thank you for sharing!
One thing I'm loving is that the palette is superimposed on the screen along with your painting. That is so helpful! Although I'm painting a longhorn face right now, the mule deer tutorial is applicable in so many ways.
Very nice David. This year I visited Edinburgh Gallery in Scotland and for the first time saw The Monarch of the Glen by Edwin Landseer. I had seen it in prints before but to see the original painting was impressive.
Sorry for me being late watching this Great Master piece of yours but I'm just getting over Covid! Keep up the good work! " you always surprises with your "Great art work" really Great Art!
I’m wanting to paint this for my aunt for her birthday where could I find the reference picture you used on the bottom to try to trace it or get the measurements right?
I hate to ask, but is the reference photo you're using, is it the one hiding behind the palette? the angles don't look like the one you're painting. I have low vision, and still trying to paint. *L*

Yes, it is the whitetail buck.
Do you have a link to your plastic transfer method?
I showed it in one of the bird challenges a while back. I also showed it on one of the dog portraits.

Thank you.
Sorry, white tail!
