They tease us with this, making it seem like there would be some exciting chase or something. And what did turn out to be? Just a nightmare. Why would you put in a clip beforehand of a NIGHTMARE????
the big bad they are referring to on this 6x10 scene is definitely different from what they have on 7x19. the writers and producers most likely changed the characters' stories and who really is the big bad that's why 6x10 just became a dream in 7x19 because they don't know where to put the 6x10 plot they made.

In the 6x10 version of the clip there is a quote from The Scarlet Letter on the blackboard. Which this particular quote is about a psychotic doctor seeking vengeance ( he is the enemy). They should of stuck with Wren being A. At least he was in the pilot.
Should HAVE. Why oh why do people take "should've", which is a shortened version of should have and then freaking spell what they heard, which is not a thing? Did any of you take English classes?? and no, it had to be a female, because that was a huge theme, that women fight uglier than men. and Wren had no beef with every single one of the girls.
This angers me sooo much. On good shows where the plot is written BEFORE any scenes are shot, this extended version would have been filmed at the same time as the original, because the writers would have bloody known where the story was going. PLL should have ended after Charlottes arrest.

It's a reference to a Character in Alfred Hitchcocks Rear Window. Emma Thorwald was supposedly murdered by her husband, so maybe it's there because of Archer trying to ruin her life/ keep her in that mental hospital. Not sure though.

They ended up making it a dream sequence when they realized they couldn't get a hold of the actor for the final episode's reveal so they made him into a diamond instead..

I love that they made it a dream tbh because they never came back to it. Marlene said that they didn't know where to take that scene but it was supposed to show what the rest of the series would be like. I admire the way they did it

I think the second time was included too late. In 6x10 they didn't know that Rollins was who he was right? So it would be kind of a foreshadowing and Emily just had this dream as her brain is trying to cope. I don't think it was bad thinking of the writers, just bad timing of the second time.

Chloe Weir okay but the actual person who was tormenting them for all of those years was charlotte, not alex. alex drake only came into the mix when charlotte, the real A, was killed. her main motive was to find out who charlotte's killer was. she wasn't the main A, charlotte was.
The PLL team only made 6x10 cliffhanger a dream sequence because they forgot they even made it. They didnt plan it out, literally everyone was asking Marlene why it was never addressed in 7a. All the fans saw the plot hole - especially when the writers had killed off Rollins, so there was no way for the scene to even play out. They including it in 7b because they HAD to address the cliffhanger from 6x10 but instead, the writers took the easy way out and make it a dream sequence. Lazy writing on their part and you can tell by the new scene how rushed it was to get it over and done with. Also to hose saying the 2nd version was shit acting, I get what you mean but I'm sure it was done that way to allude to the atmosphere of a dream. Edit: Turns out Marlene actually confirmed they messed up and didnt know who to include the scene lol

You could have made a list of every time Hanna's hair changed color or length in what was supposed to be the same day (The worst was when the girls were in NYC with Ali when Ezra was shot). I think they had so many balls in the air at PLL, well I know I can forgive them a perfect continuity. The mysteries were darn good.

I have to say that these scenes are meant to be like that. 6×10 - Even if redone well, it wouldn't have the same impact. This one was created to be a teaser. That's why it feels more dramatic, even camera work is different. 7×19 is an actual scene - dream sequence - which pacing wouldn't match the rest of the show if it was done like the first one.
I think the "He's coming for you" was supposed to be about Wren, since it was revealed that he would be A.D. but Marlene changed her mind in the last minute. I think Wren being A.D. would be a much better ending than Alex's storyline, since we already knew he had a connection to Charlotte, he'd have a better motive to play the game then Alex, because she was completly random
Everyone's complaining about the acting. Good directing is very important in doing a scene, specifically a scene like this (redoing one). So it might be bad directing too and not JUST the acting.

Also it didn't really make sense to have Alison write Mrs. Rollins on the board when they finally used this scene. At this time Rollins was dead and they were over. So the reasons the scenes are different is because they didnt know where they wanted to use it. When they first wrote this scene they didn't realize how the characters would develop before they would ever use this scene. I think the main point of the scene was just to get everyone excited about the time jump. They didn’t have a super plan for it only that Rollins might be bad/they wanted to show the girls older and thats it.
Literally none of what you’re saying makes it better, it was crappy writing through and through. Literally one of the first things you learn when crafting a story is how to make a plot and MORE than that, you learn that when you craft a story you never introduce a plot point that you don’t intend to use or no what you’re using it for. It’s only one of many times where the writers have introduced something and then proceeded to drop it.

This was a super nightmare with AD at the door and archer thru the wall, bcause it was someone with a black hoodie on and I don't recall seeing archer with the black hoodie on in non of the previous scenes, if I'm wrong remind me. Re-filming was a mess with all those differences that they didn't pay attention to it. LOOOL 😂

Basically the writers just wanted to create some suspense for the finale and completely fucked up the remake of this. Troian was the only one who absolutely nailed it, I'm not doubting Lucy, Shay, Sasha or Ashley's acting skills but in this scene everything was different in this scene, different lines facial expressions tones. When you make a scene a season before then forget about it so just make a dream sequence.

EmSpro Vivian Darkbloom was just another name Alison went as. So it isn't technically a character.
Remember back some seasons ago when there was a flashback of Ali's at the hairdresser? She had a black wig on and the hairdresser was calling her Vivian. Also, the passport that Ali gives to Cece, I think back in season 5 says Vivian Darkbloom on it.

It's very obvious that the initial scene was used in case Wren ended up being A, as revealed by Marlene King after the series ended. They ended up making it a dream sequence when they realized they couldn't get a hold of the actor for the final episode's reveal so they made him into a diamond instead..

I write short stories for fun (all about the same characters) and I'm constantly going back through my work and making sure it all flows and doesn't contradict itself and rewriting old work to keep consistency. These people are PAID to do this and it's like they couldn't even be bothered.
I think the second time was included too late. In 6x10 they didn't know that Rollins was who he was right? So it would be kind of a foreshadowing and Emily just had this dream as her brain is trying to cope. I don't think it was bad thinking of the writers, just bad timing of the second time.
I think us the fans could have made a better season... watching Marlene do interviews and not remembering the timelines is painful to watch

you can see that they put a lot more effort on the first one. I don´t like what they did with this, it was unnecessary to just make a scene to keep the viewers interested in what is about to come.

I think they have a lot of fail on this serie because they do the flashback before but when they do an oder copy of the same flashback the liars don't have the same hair or looks more old or their weights change and all that make a big fail .I think they should be do all at the same moment and don't do 5 months after the same scene 😯.

Chloe Weir okay but the actual person who was tormenting them for all of those years was charlotte, not alex. alex drake only came into the mix when charlotte, the real A, was killed. her main motive was to find out who charlotte's killer was. she wasn't the main A, charlotte was.
The PLL team only made 6x10 cliffhanger a dream sequence because they forgot they even made it.
They didnt plan it out, literally everyone was asking Marlene why it was never addressed in 7a. All the fans saw the plot hole - especially when the writers had killed off Rollins, so there was no way for the scene to even play out.
They including it in 7b because they HAD to address the cliffhanger from 6x10 but instead, the writers took the easy way out and make it a dream sequence.
Lazy writing on their part and you can tell by the new scene how rushed it was to get it over and done with.
Also to hose saying the 2nd version was shit acting, I get what you mean but I'm sure it was done that way to allude to the atmosphere of a dream.

I hate to pick stuff apart. You could have made a list of every time Hanna's hair changed color or length in what was supposed to be the same day (The worst was when the girls were in NYC with Ali when Ezra was shot). I think they had so many balls in the air at PLL, well I know I can forgive them a perfect continuity. The mysteries were darn good.

I was so ready to see how this scene will fit in the season finale and they had to make it a damn dream? This is the stupidest thing ever. The actors didn't even know what they were shooting because at this point the only things Marlene wanted was to give us a view of the future. She could have just forgot about this scene than do this.
I love how in the second version of the dream her name is written as a bunch of her personas and one of them is Alison Dilaurentis-Fields.
I have to say that these scenes are meant to be like that.
6×10 - Even if redone well, it wouldn't have the same impact.
This one was created to be a teaser. That's why it feels more dramatic, even camera work is different.
7×19 is an actual scene - dream sequence - which pacing wouldn't match the rest of the show if it was done like the first one.

I think the "He's coming for you" was supposed to be about Wren, since it was revealed that he would be A.D. but Marlene changed her mind in the last minute. I think Wren being A.D. would be a much better ending than Alex's storyline, since we already knew he had a connection to Charlotte, he'd have a better motive to play the game then Alex, because she was completly random

Everyone's complaining about the acting. Good directing is very important in doing a scene, specifically a scene like this (redoing one). So it might be bad directing too and not JUST the acting.

This was so stupid. I Marlene King didn't know what to do half the time. Like the time she ended the season 3 finale episode with the girls finding "something very shocking" in the trunk. Next episode we find out it was just a dead pig. Boring and stupid.

Doesn't anyone understand that when they first filmed the original scene in 6x10 that none of this was fully planned out? its not that the acting is worse is 7x19 or the writers forgot their lines. Its that when they finally decided where they wanted to put this scene in it didn't make sense for the liars to be hostile to Alison anymore. The girls were okay with Ali then. Unlike when the writers thought they would use this scene. I think this was suppose to be a scene where this is the first time the girls saw Alison in Rosewood again in 5 years. Which they would have been mad at Ali for bringing them back for Charlotte and to danger. Also it didn't really make sense to have Alison write Mrs. Rollins on the board when they finally used this scene. At this time Rollins was dead and they were over. So the reasons the scenes are different is because they didnt know where they wanted to use it. When they first wrote this scene they didn't realize how the characters would develop before they would ever use this scene. I think the main point of the scene was just to get everyone excited about the time jump. They didn’t have a super plan for it only that Rollins might be bad/they wanted to show the girls older and thats it.
Literally none of what you’re saying makes it better, it was crappy writing through and through. Literally one of the first things you learn when crafting a story is how to make a plot and MORE than that, you learn that when you craft a story you never introduce a plot point that you don’t intend to use or no what you’re using it for. It’s only one of many times where the writers have introduced something and then proceeded to drop it.
You are very right about what you say...I am writing my own stories myself and I can confirm this happens when you make a story...I wonder what type of writers are all those judgmental people who roast Marlene...She literally kept a story herself going for 7 years....That's beyond admirable, I would have never been able to do that not even for 2 seasons...

I was so excited when I first saw the classroom scene in the commercial.. was disappointed with how it ended up being used.
This was a super nightmare with AD at the door and archer thru the wall, bcause it was someone with a black hoodie on and I don't recall seeing archer with the black hoodie on in non of the previous scenes, if I'm wrong remind me. Re-filming was a mess with all those differences that they didn't pay attention to it. LOOOL 😂
I never noticed the subtle differences between all their hair and make-up in the scenes.
The writers let the fans down so much. They created so many loose ends we were all waiting for to be tied up and then just crapped all over them.
I think they probably had different plans for how the show was gonna go and then changed their minds as it went on meaning stuff like this no longer made sense.

Basically the writers just wanted to create some suspense for the finale and completely fucked up the remake of this. Troian was the only one who absolutely nailed it, I'm not doubting Lucy, Shay, Sasha or Ashley's acting skills but in this scene everything was different in this scene, different lines facial expressions tones. When you make a scene a season before then forget about it so just make a dream sequence.
