Hi can h do a video explaining how to answer a hard comparssion question and how to analyse the text because i find it hard to find quotes from the text as i keep picking the wrong quotes
Hi there! Usually, a what question has a focus. What that means is, there will be a specific word they are looking for you to respond to - much like a how question. They'll say things like 'What do we learn about how beneficial the NHS is?' for ten marks. They are specifically looking for 'benefits' over anything else. Just repeat what you learn about whatever the focus is. For explain, treat it like a 1 text synthesis. So point out the obvious and explain what it means. Hope that helps
@@Mr.G_Revision Hi, yes that helps a bunch! I find the ‘What impressions’ questions the hardest - would you say to add an explanation to each point-made, like the third E in PEE? My teacher normally says 1 point (PE) = 1 mark, if that helps?
@@RioHarris I would add the extra 'E' if it's relevant. Sometimes once you've made the impression it's hard to expand without repeating yourself. HOW questions require the extra E but What Impressions can get away with it if it explains itself in the point. Does that make sense? :)
@@Mr.G_Revision Yes, clear as day. Thank you so much! I hope Unit 3 will be a nice paper, like Unit 2, apart from the ‘Compare’ which absolutely threw me.
I hope so too. The compare was lethal. A few colleagues and I attempted it and found it very difficult to answer it in the way of a traditional comparison so I would guess the boundaries will be low. Either that or I shouldn't be teaching English! :)
Teaching me more in 17 mins than my teacher did all year! Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed!
@@Mr.G_Revision feeling confident for tomorrow now!
I hope it went well for you today! Social Media was an excellent topic.
