Wouldn't losing the back bumper actually help the car? Every time I've seen that happen the car runs faster because it allows more air to escape through the rear of the car reducing drag.

Yeah, but at a track like Richmond it would not help all that much. It it were Daytona or Talladega you could probably gain as much as 7mph!

I search through old races on here and find clips of interesting stuff that hasnt been posted individually on youtube. Good chance the public havent seen these clips since they were watching that particular race back in the day. This is what this series does.
