Thanks for tuning in! This was great fun to make and chill out to. I will do this again but with no music and just ambient noise, maybe at night or in the rain? 😌 what do you think?
@@TomtheTaxiDriver absolutely not Tom, if people don’t like the music then let them turn their volume down. Don’t pander to your audience, do what you want to on your terms . You’ve built an amazing channel and your fans ain’t going nowhere
Nice video, I like this sort of thing, but I strongly recommend doing this without the music. If people want music, it's easy enough to put something on in the background.
As a Canadian trucker that rode in your cab back in spring of 2023, thanks for posting a video like this Tom. It brings back memories of London and the feeling of excitement I get when I think about coming back for another visit!
Totally relatable, being a cabbie myself. Great perspective of what its like to drive around our beautiful city. "How can you drive around London all day in this traffic". As you can see by this vid. We Zen out. Nice chilled vid Tom. Well done son. Keep it up. Not alot of editing in this one haha. Be lucky.
I'm a taxi driver (hackney) in a small town in Dorset, watching your videos makes me want to work more! Yet, London seems so much more interesting! I'd love to be a black cab driver!
I love these kind of videos and I agree with a lot of the other comments that no music would be better, but it's still very interesting to watch with the music 😊
Ahh Tom ! ! ! this is awesome, these are the streets I drive in my lorry Monday to Friday, and to be able to sit here with a glass of wine on a Saturday and let you take the strain is wonderful and offers a totally different perspective.I saw someone suggest on the comments that you should drop the music (although to me it is perfectly fine and shows on your part an inclination to editorially produce a well polished product ). I would just like to point out - to them -that whether the music is to your taste or not is irrelevant and maybe they should upgrade their device to one with a volume/ mute 😂.
I would be interested in seeing this type of video again.. but maybe do this as a mini series... the nice weather today... but another time do a night one.... or a day but rain... ect.. see the difference in challenges you face.. or how hard the difference in weather conditions makes your job harder or the pure or extra concentration needed for the different conditions and day or night.. The concentration needed. The focus on the passenger... and where you are.. and where you need to be.. the traffic.. and the best way to go... my brain would be frazzled. Lol.
Such a different yet simple idea.. a pov cross with a sort of asmr.. with the music and the taxi noises.. Plus we get to see your view out with your facial expressions to match your view... all whilst your map shows us non London ppl where you are.. A real life.. Real time.. view of your job. A big thumbs up from me. Great idea.
I quite liked the music, it made it a very nice chill video - and what a lovely day to do it, too. I've driven in London a grand total of once and never want to do so ever again, I'm more than happy to take the Tube or a cab or the bus, or shanks' pony!! Lovely way to relax, though, watching you just cruising round enjoying the sun and London life!
I haven't been into London since pre-pandemic. It's nice to have a POV tour for nostalgia. Thanks for the zip around the block Tom :) BTW, this setup format is great! Don't' change it!
I like this! Maybe a cool idea would be too have the radio on. There's a clip on RUclips from like 1999, someone just driving through central London with the radio. The radio really makes it feel like a tile machine.
Been a long time watcher of your videos Tom and this is just the sort of thing I was hoping for! Fantastic ❤. (Not being critical but I could maybe watch this without music too as some have mentioned). Keep up the great channel pal 👍🏼
Having the map up is great. Now I don't have to wonder what stuff is. I'll echo the others about preferring the ambient street/car noise over music though.
Nice one Tom, I'd absolutely love more of these. I'm sorely missing Ollie's content. I like how this has no talking. As a Knowledge boy I can disappear into this - compared to reciting runs this feels like relaxation....but I'm learning!
watched about 40 minutes so far, and got to say such different driving compaired to back in the mid-late 80's around London, and my last experience driving in London around 10 years ago whereby if you leave 1 inch infront of you a car would try and force it's way into the gap claiming some sort of "I got priority rule", more or less like most driving in the whole of the UK these days, even when you are not racing anybody at traffic lights or something, or trying to change lanes because you are in the correct lane. this is more the kind of driving back in the 90's lots of traffic, but most people driving calmly, and merging near enough correctly, with only the odd vehicle wanting to change lanes.
having watched it all now Tom, I must say that is totally different driving experience in London, Pedestrians for the most part not playing chicken, push bikes not playing chicken for the most part, pedestrians crossing very close to pedestrian crossings for the most part, how can London manage to get the highway code correct, and the rest of the country become so mindless over the heirarchy rules so pedestrians walking across the roads without looking to see if it is safe, push bikes undertaking cars indicating left infront of them. etc. it is like too many of them have seen that show on TV and decided I am right, so lets be 6 foot under, and correct.
Just a question … if a solo travelling client starts chatting to you, do you appreciate it or is it difficult to remain concentrated on the road ? And if they do, are any of these topics appreciated or not by you : the weather, the traffic, the Uk politics, your bodyart or their ideas on bodyart, tips for restaurants or musea, … ?
Nice video ! After having seen several of your journeys, including your appreciated explanation of how Heathrow functions, … I wonder if you can tell us more about the taxi ranks in the north : Euston, St Pancras and Kings Cross. Any preference ? Do you feel the demand after a 1000 passenger Eurostar arrives ?
While dropping off/picking up passenger some people prefer to use hazard lights and some prefer to use turn signals. Is there an obvious rule that says the exactly correct one?
👍Excellent vid "Tom the TaxiDriver" doesn't Marylebone high street look amazing, normally stay at Sussex garden on a visit and end up in Paddington, didn't realise Marylebone was just around the corner, plus still don't know how to pronounce it, for me would have absolutely loved a commentary as one reason i tune in is to get my bearings of London central on visits,. On been a regular viewer i know you know landmarks, history aswell, and also being a proper London Cabby, Take care Fellow n hopefully one of our visit we hail Tom the TaxiDriver,. 👍
Tom next time you plan something like this would you let me tag along. I would love to be driven around London. Only thing is I would like you to point out things to me.
Did you purposely not pick anyone up as you knew you were recording? Just wondering as it seems the lady at 20:34 tried to hale you. Nice vid though. I'll go against the grain and say I quite liked the music 😅

Thanks for tuning in! This was great fun to make and chill out to.
I will do this again but with no music and just ambient noise, maybe at night or in the rain? 😌 what do you think?
Yes, please, Tom. Just ambient noise. It'd be even better when it's raining, and given that it's winter now there should be more wet days coming up.
Clear winters night let’s see the Xmas lights and shop displays…. Just not the usual sleigh bells 😊 humbug humbug
Yes.. maybe all different conditions day... night.. Sun.. rain.. the ambient noise of the rain
The natural sound of the outdoors

Yeah I agree, music isn't ideal
…..or you could turn the sound off.
The music adds to the chilled vibe.
Admire the range of content 😊
I agree. Ambient noise is better.
I liked the music

This is great! Just a personal preference. I would prefer it without music, just the street noise. But that's just me.
POV videos are back! Less music more ambient noise :D

Love the relaxing music
Ace Video - look forward to the one without music. Nothing quite like just having the natural background noise to go along with it!
Really curious, how did you make the map overlay work?
Love this, Tom! Thanks for making this video. Now I can keep this open whilst working 😂😂😂
Calm and peaceful 😊
I'm a taxi driver (hackney) in a small town in Dorset, watching your videos makes me want to work more! Yet, London seems so much more interesting! I'd love to be a black cab driver!
Big fan of this Tom mate. Love it ❤
Were gonna need more of thewe asap!
I love these kind of videos and I agree with a lot of the other comments that no music would be better, but it's still very interesting to watch with the music 😊
What a lovely chill way to end a stressful day. Cheers Tom

Tom, this is a way better camera angle! You should do more shifts on this angle!
don't think they allow him to do shifts with a camera that isn't authorised by tfl
Love watching your videos especially getting to see all different locations of London and information about different locations etc etc

Nice one Tom but without the music next time please just the noise of London keep up the good work
Noise of London?Do me a favour!
If you had this without the music, I'd fall asleep to this haha.
This is great Tom love it. Not sure about the music though. Natural sounds of the road environment might be better.
I like the music.
Having that little outlay map at the corner is GREAT! Love this.
Also I rock the exact same watch! Seiko SKX009, the Pepsi, love it.
That was a really nice hour out riding with u Tom naming all the places n roads that I knew thanks very much
Oh wow a moving map!

Great video. I love the music with it!! Unlike the people wining and complaining they’d rather not have it!!👍

Very Nice Video Like to See More of Them

Well, unexpectedly, I really enjoyed that ❤
Hi fantastic video great Choice of music I found it Relaxing While taking in the streets and sites of London big fan of your channel tom .
What's the map app you're using man? Loving the retro vibe of it
Loved the video,Tom. I like both but perhaps try one without music and see what the consensus is? Keep up the great content!
Good stuff Tom, love it.

Is that a Seiko Prospex PADI? It's a lovely watch! 👌
Awesome video keep up the great work
Excellent video Tom 👍👍👍
What are the benefits of bing an official taxi driver, vs Uber or Lyft?
I love this. Can you tie a wireless lav to the front grill to get street sound and engine noise or just reupload with no music?
Brilliant idea mate good way to get those watch hours and give people something long to watch
Hahah tom how random! It's sonny, I just randomly came across your channel
🙌🏻 hope you are keeping well brother!
what phone holder do u use tom? im a Lorry driver and have not found the right one yet
Prefer the camera mounted on the dash and some indication of your route.
A+
whats your watch brand mate?

Nothing relaxing about a drive in London (coming from a trucker) hahaha
When the camera isn't rolling, it's Crazy Taxi.
appreciated from Pakistan bro❤❤❤

Keep covering that airbag.
@londoneats should do this on the NIU too….
What map app is that on the phone?
Have to give going Live a go see if it works
The rear view mirror blocks the view forward
Haha, nice! I like all the car/city sounds though, but the music is a bit too much for me personally.
Somebody have to get a room 22:06

No this is me driving before I started my shift. I’m unable to film in this manner whilst working

No. Before going to work. Although someone did try and hail despite this
music loud can you edit it out?
Tom
What’s a estimate you earn a day let’s say 10 hours
Nooooo!!!! could have been an airport job 20.36 😞
What map app is that?
Same question lol 😂😂😂
