      I had this problem to and I still have this problem when I wake up in the middle of the night. U have to be comfortable with wanting to go to sleep. Try to relax and embrace the feeling naturally. Don't focus on going to sleep or your thoughts let all that come and go. If that doesn't work try to lightly visualize something and focus on that. If it's from being anxious and uncomfortable stretch and try to lay in a position that is comfortable and don't toss and turn let your body stay in that position. Sometimes these things work for me as I have had bad night ls falling asleep for a month until I tried to just embrace it and not think or force myself asleep when I lay down.

    All the advise is stuck to a schedule which is good for a perfect world but if you're a shift worker who does days / nights; you need other tips and ideas!

      I heard from another sleep expert . If this advice doesn’t work for you then here’s more advice . If you are activist putting effort in your sleep like doing safety behaviors like turning the lights off or keeping a sleep schedule to follow every day . Then you are making the insomnia worse

    • @Andrewtatesbutt
      @Andrewtatesbutt Год назад

      This is because sleep isn’t something you think about or our effort into making better . You just let sleep do it’s own thing to be honest . Abandon safety behaviors if they don’t help you or your schedule. If you feel like you can’t sleep or nap during the day because it will mess up your sleep schedule , then just do it . Don’t put effort or thoughts into trying to sleep

    When i was young i can sleep whenever i want to. Now im 55 years old i developed insomnia. People have different sleep pattern. Genetic also can blame. It runs in the family. What is good for you is not effective to others because people have different mental status. It is also hormonal so consider also some supplements sleeping aids.

    I got over my insomnia by relaxing in bed, watching my favorite travel RUclips channels until I felt sleepy and dozed off and eventually led me to sleep. Before that, I would hate lying in bed thinking about not being able to sleep all night. Just have to be comfortable in bed.

    Idk about "not existing" I just lay in bed awaken and i feel well rested at some point. It just refreshes me up even tho I was concious. If I was at any point sleeping I would recall waking up but that doesnt happen.

    Atomic Habits by James Clear says otherwise. By being awake in bed, your brain further dissociates it from the act of sleeping to the act of being awake, making it counterproductive.
    What is your take on this? I would like to hear it since it contradicts the book.

    Yeah, being awake all night and then having to work until 10 pm is really easy to do and to handle.
    And getting up at 4 am the next week... not napping or sleeping when getting home after work after that as well...

    I found doing ketosis for one year, not having carbohydrates , I can’t sleep the 6-8 hours I used to, is this normal ? I will get to bed about 830pm - lay in bed and watch something on my phone or read a book and then fall asleep about 1030 or 11pm. I then wake at 3 am and maybe stay awake for up to one hour and fall asleep but then I’m awake from 530 onwards and can’t get back to sleep etc. is this from the ketogenic diet and change in eating pattern ? I mainly have one meal a day but I reduce the coffees before lunch time , and will have a herbal sleep tea etc 2 hours before bed time . I’m confused 🫤

    Ok, and after a week with only 4 hours sleep a night, how should I get through the next day? Without overconsumption of coffee, sugar, alkohol? I can't take it any longer!
    My negative depressive thoughts are so loud at the middle of the night.
