I'd have to admit I've always wanted them to get together, but their friendship is so beautiful that I would be happy either way. I hope they continue on like this too in the second half. Every moment between them is so amazing! I could never get enough of them!
Their friendship is lovely and prior to season 9, I was honestly cool with their relationship remaining platonic despite the fact that I always shipped them. However, the writing these past two seasons has been building to something and given the way NR/MM have been playing their scenes lately, there's just no denying that their feelings for one another go beyond friendship. I'm hoping we at least get an acknowledgement of that before the season ends, even if we don't necessarily see them together just yet.
@@mfirefly10 Yeah before it was shown as friendship but now for 2 seasons it seems as if they are building up their romance. i mean Daryl staring at the acorn and immediately rejecting anything between him an Connie to carol so fast as if hes offended carol even mentioned it. to carol having dreams about a life with him. like i dont think its platonic anymore. him freaking out that carol almost feel into the pit of walkers. even after what she did to connie and magna hes still out there in a field waitting for carol all day with negan. and was obviously waiting at the gates for her to come back. and opened it. and saying he could never hate her. i mean as just friends youd hate your friend for getting people killed. but his feelings for her just cant change at all no matter what she does.

Revisiting the season 2-10 also found that they really surpassed their friends, and the two also experienced bad things a lot ... become lost in their self-direction, but when the two walked together, they became themselves. He really loves each other like a lover. In particular, the man said that he did not want to leave her and did not want to see her. Woman's joke: Good friend? Walking together, couple bracelets ... Actually they really look like couples ...
I love this edit. It really shows that Daryl really truly has always been there for Carol and she has always been there for him. Personally, I think that Caryl is the best ship in the show. ❤❤❤
The plan was for Daryl and Carol to leave together and come back and visit time and again but then it was announced it would be the last season. Just watch JDM, Norman and Melissa in interviews the last two seasons and watch Richonne happen over 2 years. Everyone says it would have happened already. They wanted a slow burn and then not going into detail of season 7/8 writing. Angela is in the driver's seat. I know people didnt like the 2 D&C 10c episodes but it setup them taking off whether together or as friends.
With the way the writers focused on them this season, I'm actually not worried about their friendship. I think there's a very, very good chance we see them come out of this stronger than ever.
