  • This is how we cut a winters worth of Kindling for the fireplace in one afternoon.
Don't take too many lessons from how I do this, my hand placement is not the best in a couple spots, but this is an honest view of what I do for us here on the Farm.

I'm amazed at the comments.....a guy takes his time to make a video to help show a way to make kindling easier and people comment on filling up the gas or say dumb shit like a axe is quicker.....I say watch a gas can video if that's your intrest or if your the DA that said a axe is quicker then show us with your video......don't forget to deduct the time you spend in the ER trying to get your finger sewn back on........to the guy who made the video......thank you I promise these negative people who didn't appreciate it don't burn wood the watched your video wondering what it must be like to be a man and burn wood.......I spill gas all over my splitter and so does anyone that uses a gas can ......I'm sorry most all your comments came from a bunch of soft hand apartment fireplace box wine drinking guys if they identify as a guy lol

A handful of Buttholes out of 100,000 views is OK with me, I'm always curious about the trolls who simply sit and eat cheetos in front of their monitors instead of actually doing something productive and interesting with their lives.
Such a sad existence it must be simply imagining doing something constructive and getting kicks from insulting people who just want to help others with streamlining tasks that rob time daily

I use poplar for kindlin here in NC and have done similar for years , i like the way you square it up and will try that. I tried selling kindlin one year , kept hearing, we already sell firewood ###

You could try wrapping a rubber tube (or even rope) around the bundle to hold it all together while you split it. Might be helpful, especially on the last few bits. Should be easier to stack at the end too

Check out a product called the Kindling Cracker. A much safer, quieter, easier method of making kindling than using an axe. A New Zealand 13 year old girl invented and designed it as a school project.

Deduct the time it takes to get your finger sewn back on in the ER......I'd bet money in two hours his method beats you and your axe ......I'd also love to see that one mis lick with your axe ......I have no doubt the axe is quicker for the short run but some of us heat souls with wood and need alot of kindling......I appreciate anyone who makes a video to help others ......the video didn't say faster than a axe
